1 Howdy! Still here in Amish Country, till Sunday. Then it's back to Babylon DC. Meh. Going to shoot boom sticks tomorrow. I brought up my .357 revolver and .9mm S&W FPC. Might fish too. Sister's got a nice sized pond full of fishes. Saw the Amish neighbors fishing in it last week. They caught a few. The local heron has been doing some fishing too. Big birdie. It is very nice up here (Western PA).

Another amazing astronomical discovery, thanks to the ESO's ERIS (Enhanced Resolution Imager and Spectrograph) on the Very Large Telescope down there in Chile, on the heels of observing an infant solar system just starting to form with the first condensation of silicates.

They directly imaged a forming planet in the disc of a very young star. It's about 2 Jupiter masses, and about a Neptune distance from the star, HD 135344B, a very young F type.

It's sweeping spiral arms out in the disc, clearing and accreting material as it forms. This is the first time such has been directly imaged. The system is about 440 ly away.
