The big vtuber agencies in the West - since Nijisanji burst into flames - have come down to Hololive and VShojo. (Yes, I'd count Phase Connect myself, but even the largest Phase talents don't have the subscriber numbers of a Hololive or VShojo talent.) And then there was one: VShojo imploded today in a way that puts every other vtuber drama in the shade. (MSN / Economic Times) Ironmouse - possibly the most popular English-language vtuber in the world now that Gura has reincarnated - abruptly left the company and engaged lawyers over two alleged issues: First, a tale as old as time, they were slow to pay their talents. Second, and far more damning, the company was still holding on to half a million dollars in donations she raised a year ago for the Immune Deficiency Foundation, a cause close to her heart, literally, because she is immune deficient herself. The company has gone into radio silence, and the talents and fans are rioting. Kson - leading lady of VShojo Japan and former drug-dealing shitposting Yakuza dragon of Hololive's Gen 4 - is demanding answers. Lots of work to get through this morning. I don't know how much, because yesterday's shift forgot to send me an update. So do I have 2 hours of work to clear? 3? 4? I have no idea, and that irritates me. See you all later. Hooo, nelly. I was having dinner out last night, and they had CNN on one of the TVs... I well and truly did not realize exactly how much of a pud Fake Fapper is, and exactly how ridiculous CNN has become. They've never been great, of course, but at least back in the day they weren't completely laughable. They had the ability to look like News and stay on one actual, understandable topic for more than five seconds. It's worse than anyone else out there. It's like the worst excesses of Fox and MSNBC from the Bush years had a baby and then let it be raised by a troupe of feral chimpanzees. Just howling and throwing shit and no real way to predict what's coming up next at any given second, but all the chimps are wearing little suits and round glasses so that you know they're Very Serious.

Speaking of Morticia, a few days ago I saw Carolyn Jones in a Wagon Train episode she did before the Addams Family.
I didn’t even recognize her, her hair was short and curly as was often the style in the 50s for women, but her eyes and face were so familiar. Fun fact: early in her career, Jones was known as "the Beat Bette Davis" for her resemblance to the star at that time. She once said that she thought the reason she didn't have a bigger career was that Davis badmouthed her to the studios, not wanting a younger, prettier woman to trade on her name. Posted by: SpeakingOf at July 22, 2025 *** Not often. KC is a crime-oriented drama with musical numbers played within a nightclub or bar, so the music is where it belongs. Elvis turns in a fine performance -- if he'd been allowed to continue in that vein, we might be speaking of him now the way we speak of Paul Newman. It's one of his best dramatic performances. It was a big thing during its filming, as the story is set in Nawlins and was filmed here.
