Trump: Don't Fall For the Epstein "Hoax"

While Trump isn't clear in his message -- and he needs to be clear, because this is big shakes -- I'm pretty sure when he calls this a "hoax and scam" he specifically means the media's/Democrats' (but I repeat myself, as usual) to suggest that the reason the Epstein "list" isn't being produced is because he's on it.

I think that's what he means by "don't fall for the hoax." Not that there was a pedophile named Jeffrey Epstein, but that he's one of the clients.

Or that there's a conspiracy in the Trump administration to cover up for Jeffrey Epstein and his "clients."

But he keeps just saying that his supporters are "falling for this hoax" without making it clear that the hoax he means is the claim that he's on "the list."

If you read his comments in that way, they're no so objectionable.

Because serious: Trump is not a "client" of Epstein's. The Democrats made up a whole bullshit story about him being a RUSSIAN FUCKING AGENT. If there were any evidence suggesting that Trump was cozying up to Epstein to have sex with underaged girls, for crying out loud, they would have released all the evidence in 2015.

President Trump on Wednesday launched a full-throated attack on renewed attempts to link him to the late Jeffrey Epstein, calling the controversy a "Hoax" and slamming both Democrats and the mainstream media for fueling what he sees as another baseless smear campaign.
In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump wrote, "The Radical Left Democrats have hit pay dirt, again! Just like with the FAKE and fully discredited Steele Dossier... and even the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam itself." He accused Democrats of pushing the latest scandal to distract from their failures and called them "no good at governing, no good at policy, and no good at picking winning candidates."
Trump went further, blaming the so-called Epstein Hoax for luring in even some of his former backers. "My PAST supporters have bought into this 'bulls***,' hook, line, and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson, and probably never will," he wrote, adding that the smear efforts have been orchestrated "by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years."
He also said the left's unity is their strength: "Unlike Republicans, they stick together like glue."
Trump closed by expressing frustration that the mainstream media is focusing on this "hoax" instead of his record. "All these people want to talk about, with strong prodding by the Fake News and the success-starved Dems, is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax. Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work," he wrote. "Don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore!"

As you can see, he's putting this in the worst possible way, making it sound like he's attacking his supporters for believing him when he himself pushed the Epstein story.

So if I'm right and he's attacking only the "hoax" that he's connected to the scandal, then he has to speak a lot more clearly on that point, rather than sounding like he's attacking his supporters for being gullible conspiracy theorists.

Otherwise he's going to take a massive hit in support. Loyal supporters will not stand being called fools for having believed Trump in the first place.

I don't think he means that, but he sure keeps sounding like he means that.

The question Trump needs to answer is what's the case for not just disclosing anything and everything the government has on Epstein. He isn't doing that, which just fuels speculation. At the moment the worst stupidest thing he's probably ever done is push the dopey vaccine but even with that he had rock solid reasons and put himself in a good position in terms of gamesmanship.

First of all you couldnt be politically "against" creating a vaccine because that would be dumb and you would have to explain to everyone that you can't really do one and by the time you're explaining all that you are losing bigtime. "Trump doesn't want a cure!!!!" So he took ownership of it. Overall it at least made sense.

So whatever he is doing here makes sense somewhere and like I said it would be great if he's just seeing if he can get all the Democrats to suddenly switch sides and demand Epstein answers. That is on the table here.

Epstein was making numerous withdrawals from his account under the reporting threshold, which sets off mandatory FEC/IRS reporting mechanisms for banks, the banks did not alert the FEC/IRS and ended up getting a tap on the wrist for this non-reporting.

Beyond FBI evidence tampering, potential for witness mistakes and/or self-serving statements, and various politicization of any remaining evidence (re: unequal disclosure of R vs D disclosure)? Even pedo clients are afforded due process, and such accusations, if falsely or politically made, can end a person's career, family, or life.

Trump could have or should have foreseen such, and I am inclined to allow some leeway for protection of the innocent. If there is evidence to charge crimes, charge away.

I don't know that there's an *actionable* way forward with the issue. Any boredom I have towards this topic isn't for the victims--its because this isn't "new news"--we've known of it for a couple of decades and nobody has ever attempted to do much of anything with it. I wish Trump would stick to growing the economy, slashing the bloat of government, and occasionally breaking stuff in the middle east rather than commenting further on this topic.

i don't think that's what's going on at all. I don't think Trump is saying that. Though, as I said, he's very inarticulate about this and that is going to cost him unless he starts speaking clearly.

I think what's going on is that the Strong Form of the conspiracy, that Epstein was blackmailing politicians and working for the CIA, just isn't true, or at least there's no real evidence for it, and people have been pushing this idea (and believing it for themselves) for so long they just can't quit it.

It's not much of a conspiracy. They played up all the juicy info they had, and the influencers photo op happened. Obviously, the intent was going to be to show how uncooperative the FBI continues to be, given that much of that was stuff we'd already seen, *but with more redactions*.

They promised to fix that. Then, months later *someone* leaked a summary of the DoJ's findings that sounded like the Deep State covering it all up, but when asked, Bondi agreed to its findings, and Trump's backing her. And shut up about it, everyone.

So it's not in dispute that they've decided not to make any real effort to investigate the matter. The question is why. Jackstraw's been giving the most favorable guess, and how much weight that has I suppose depends on how much faith you have in Trump and his team.

I think its universal that at least normal men find older teenage girls very attractive. That's not the problem, I like lots of things I cannot have and should not have. I was barely 17yrs my freshman year of college. I had an American History teacher call in a peer (of similar age...I guess in 30's, both single). In front of me they both sighed that I was underage. Weird.

I was not interested in either of them. I was just being me and not flirting in any way, but meeting him as required the begining of the semester. Had he put even on finger on me he'd have regretted it physically. I am told I have a honey badger aura.

Today I could scream about it, and maybe with good reason. Back then I just moved on with my hippy dippy life and chalked it up to another weird thing. I did not consider filing charges, as I simply thought it was weird.

I think the best thing President Trump could do now is ignore the issue or release it, as I said above, saying, "Ok, this is bad for many you love, but here it is! You asked for it!" And move on. He knows he is not involved.
