Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump Is Firing Hundreds and Hundreds of DOJ and State Department Lefties and LayaboutsThe State Department is laying off 1,300 bureaucrats in a "massive restructuring plan." * Layoff notices are going out to more than 1,300 employees of the U.S. State Department Friday. * The firings are part of a dramatic reorganization and a push by the Trump administration to drastically downsize the federal government. The State Department is laying off more than 1,300 employees Friday, a move that critics say will make us less safe abroad and hurt America's leadership across the globe. The Trump administration has pushed to reshape American diplomacy and worked aggressively to shrink the size of the federal government, including mass dismissals as part of moves to dismantle whole departments like the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Education Department. The pinkslips are coming for DOJ lawyers who participated in the political persecution of the right. ClandestineCBS "News" whines that all of their sources and traitors are being fired. A 17-year former Justice Department official is warning of a wave of retribution inside the agency. Patty Hartman, who served as a top public affairs specialist at the FBI and federal prosecutors' offices, told CBS News, "The rules don't exist anymore." Hartman, who was fired Monday via a letter from Attorney General Pam Bondi, is the fourth person connected to the agency's work on the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots to be terminated in the past month. "There used to be a line, used to be a very distinct separation between the White House and the Department of Justice, because one should not interfere with the work of the other," Hartman told CBS News. "That line is very definitely gone." Hartman isn't a prosecutor, but worked on the District of Columbia U.S. Attorney's Office public affairs team that distributed news releases about the more than 1,500 Jan. 6 criminal prosecutions. "I am not political. I do not serve a president or a party," she said. "I serve the American people, the Department of Justice and its mission and the citizens in the district where I work. I've been doing that for almost 20 years."Julie Kelly says that's a lie.

I kind of wish the Trump admin would lead with a more forceful message of "REFORM." Getting out in front of moves like this is kind of important. They should just be banging that drum every press conference and release. Just preface everything with the job of the admin is to clean up the past 90+ years of the mess that is the federal government.

Curious about the State cuts, sounds like all domestic (some GSs serve overseas, but not most). --------------- The U.S. government posted a surplus in June as tariffs gave an extra bump to a sharp increase in receipts, the Treasury Department said Friday. With government red ink swelling throughout the year, last month saw a surplus of just over $27 billion, following a $316 billion deficit in May. That brought the fiscal year-to-date deficit down to $1.34 trillion, a 1% decline from the same period a year ago. In June 2024, the deficit totaled $71 billion. There are three months left in the current fiscal year, which ends Sept. 30. ------------------ How'd those words taste coming out your mouth, huh NBC? Bitter? Never forget that the very term "bureaucracy" was devised as a bitterly sarcastic observation that our real rulers that lord over us are not the wealthy (plutocracy) or the general populace (democracy) or the social elites (aristocracy), but instead the faceless, soulless government functionaries who actually are the ones with the hands on the levers of power, supposedly at the behest of and taking orders from the the people or the elite, but who actually ling ago went rogue and realized that they, the ones with their hands on the levers, actually control everything, asnd no ne can stop them.

https://bipartisanpolicy.org/ report/deficit-tracker/ Some months seem to traditionally run a surplus, usually April (obviously), but mostly it's just different degrees of up. June's behavior based on the 4 years of previous data in the chart seems to be largely just continuing the trend up. An actual jump down in June seems ahistorical and significant. So, you can pay for some of the credit hours with student loans directly, as you do now, but the rest you'll have to wait to pay for until you get the remainder of your student loan disbursement from the university Accounts Payable, and then you pay for the rest of your credits?
That will certainly sow chaos and disorder on the Student Accounts side of things. Posted by: FeatherBlade at July 11, 2025 03:16 PM (a+4eV) ======= The OBBB really changed the student loan game.

2h Sources confirm to me the blow up between Dan Bongino and Pam Bondi is very real. This has been brewing for four months and came to a head at the White House on Wednesday. Any of these smucks put up their hand and say "gee, you think we might be going a little...hard on these people?" What I would like to see is an expansion of the department that issues H-2A visas, "Temporary Agricultural Workers". They get vetted. They get tracked. They can come here and work for better wages. Their employer must then adhere to labor laws and standards, and if their employer attempts to exploit them they now have standing to sue. It's my understanding that only about 5% of all illegal aliens are out there picking crops; most illegal aliens head to our cities, so it's not going to be a massive influx of people. We get the crops picked, they get money to send home (maybe no tax on money they send home if they show a valid visa), and it takes away a leftist complaint.
No visas for people who landscape corporate lawns or private mansions in Illinois or are nannys or gardeners for matrons on Martha's Vineyard, though. Those are not essential jobs. Posted by: RonF at July 11, 2025 05:24 PM (l8nW6) 370
