  • Yesterday I noted that Twitter was taking steps to make its AI chatbot, Grok, "less politically correct".

It looks instead of making it 5% more Hitler, they dialed it up to 500%. (Tech Crunch)

For a few hours it sounded like a cross between Heinrich Himmler and the Ayatollah Khamenei, or a moderate Democrat.

Twitter has been cleaning up the mess and Grok is back to normal now, which for a chatbot means remarkably useless and only not dangerous because nobody trusts it for anything.

21 Up today to work out (maybe) and to cross the river to have the Buick's oil changed. Maybe some other errands while I'm out there in the 'burbs. There's only 4500 miles on the oil, but six months (Jan. and July) is a good mark for me to remember.

My sleep got interrupted last night by a ceiling leak in my living room. Miraculously, it occurred *right over* the bucket I had sitting there after the *last* ceiling leak. Two blisters that look like boobs have developed in the ceiling near my dinette table. The leak has stopped for now. I'll have to call the "maintenance" (ha!) people at nine.

I agree, it is an insulting excuse. And, at this point, saying, "ok, if that's such a common practice, show us other videos with the same minute missing," isn't a response, because we know that anything can be faked.

What can be on the tapes / list / whatever that is so damaging? It must be more than child pRon or even prominent Repubs caught screwing pre-teens.

All I can think of at the moment is that there are people named who are too close to Trump and / or high levels of his administration for the public ever to know.

Posted by: fd at July 09, 2025 06:55 AM (vFG9F)

81 Let us assume, for a moment, that Epstein was a "lone wolf" human trafficker. That he supplied the rich and powerful with young, and very young, people to have sex with or kill as their depravity demanded. Now let us assume, for a moment, that he was using tapes of these activities to blackmail the rich and famous.

He would have been killed decades ago.

Now, let us assume, for a moment, that he did all the things previously mentioned - other than the blackmail part. Either there are no tapes implicating anyone of anything, in which case there is no criminal case to be made or the tapes were handed off, probably to the globalist intelligence apparatus for it's use. The same people who start wars and topple governments.

So, on the one hand, there is no evidence of criminal activity unless victims come forward to testify - several years after the fact... remember, Virginia Giuffre's accusation against Prince Andrew contained no illegal actions whatsoever, or the evidence is held by people willing to kill millions to get what they want.

Feel free to go back to your daily bitching on the subject.

Everyone says Maxwell trafficked girls to Epstein.
For what? Housekeeping duties on the island?

To whom? You have to have an accused for a crime. Right now, with no "john", you have half a crime, which is no crime.

94 Somebody should ask Pam Bondi who, exactly, is in the videos of child porn?

Because I assume all the children are teenage girls.

Who are the adults in the videos?

She should be able to give descriptions or even name the adults if they are identifiable.

There’s no harm in that other than to those identified.

I get there are legal implications for doing so but this isn’t going to go away like they hoped.

All of the secrecy surrounding the Epstein case has spawned so many conspiracy theories, even from Patel & Bongino themselves, that this thing won’t go away.

It’s almost reached the JFK/RFK Assassinations, Clinton Murders, Area 51 & Aliens level of American conspiracy theories.

That can’t be stopped with a single letter and a wave of the hand.

103 @82/Hadrian: "Day 3 without home internet."

My last outage with my current ISP lasted 3 days as well. Unlike previous outages though where they happily credited me for any day I was affected, this time they claimed they'd only credit me the one day in the middle, because they don't offer credit for any day where you aren't down for the full 24 hours. (The connection went out at 06:30 on day 1, and came back at 16:45 on day three, effectively scuppering three full "normal working hours" days.)

That's bad policy because it breeds resentment. I haven't forgotten it, and I won't. It's mentally filed as "Strike 1".

They'll stomp tf out of them. Only problem? Donkeys don't differentiate between coyote, livestock guardian dogs and the family pet. They'll kill them all.

117 So to be “sophisticated” means somebody who has been lied to by an urbane, cynical, manipulative, liar so many times they become an urbane, cynical, manipulative, liar themselves.

That checks out, as I’ve never been too impressed by “sophisticated” people.

For what? Housekeeping duties on the island?

Nothing is going to come of it. Nothing. No government on the planet is agitating for justice. You're getting yourself worked up over an issue which will never - NEVER - be resolved to your satisfaction. The rich and powerful do not pay for their misdeeds in this world. Same as it ever was. Feel free to stew in unhappiness over the issue.

I just ask that the Complaint Brigade pick a different topic on alternate days.

126 Bondi’s big mistake was believing, like the majority of conservatives, that Epstein had a list of people he was blackmailing over their visits to his island and that the previous administration had framed it and put it in a box. And that he had videos he had made secretly and had all those in a safe and the intelligence agency had them in that same box . And when she was confirmed, she ran to the microphones and teased that all would be released. Until she found that none of that was true. Maybe the previous administration destroyed them or maybe they never existed. Bondi cannot make that mistake again. But I agree with Trump, time to move on.

On the radio the other day, the morning show hosts were talking about Joey Chestnut's accomplishments. One of the hosts claimed Joey is the greatest athlete of all time because NO ONE will ever be able to match his overall achievements in competitive eating.

At a hot dog eating contest, everyone else is competing for second place because they know Joey will win hands down. Second place might be 20 hot dogs behind Joey.

128 There's a disconnect and seething anger on conservative social media on this Epstein issue. Trump would be wrong to try to forcefully brush it away, though not sure what else he can do. I can feel his frustration. Maybe it will dissipate over time. But it's real.

134 It [Epstein] is, as said above, what it is.

One has to wonder who are the assets that DJT cannot abide being removed from the board. I can make stories up in my head about CJ-SCOTUS, or key Senate votes. I can speculate about Representatives announcing retirements, although I think they are mostly small potatoes.

Then there is the potential blow-back on [Mossad], if they had a hand in running Epstein. Is this due to not tossing current Israel power until Iran has been put to bed?

The other set of stories I can make up has to do with who knows that DJT knows, and is starting to get into line. Was this essential in passing the BBB?

I don't expect any answers to these questions.
