Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Disney Has a New $200 Million Movie About to Come Out So It Must Be Time for One of Its Overpaid Woke Communist Non-Talents to Open His Mouth AgainPedro Pascal, related to the family of the Chilean communist Allende and a self-described "50-year-old Bougie Bitch" because that's how straight men talk about themselves, saw Rachel Zegler tanking Snow Beige and said, Hold mi cerveza. Now he's got yet another unneeded Fantastic Four movie coming out within the month, and he decides it's time again to attack J.K. Rowling for not wanting a tranny's dick-n-balls in her face when she's in a changing room.Pedro Pascal defends calling JK Rowling a 'heinous loser' and says 'bullies make me f****** sick' in latest broadside at Harry Potter creator The actor has doubled down on his Instagram criticism of the British author By AIDAN RADNEDGE Pedro Pascal has launched a new attack on JK Rowling - defending his description of her as a 'heinous loser' as he declared how 'bullies' made him feel 'f***ing sick'. The Game Of Thrones and Gladiator II actor has doubled down on his criticisms of the Harry Potter author over her gender-critical opinions in a new interview. Pascal, 50, whose sister Lux recently came out as a transgender woman, initially made the scathing 'heinous loser' remark in April on Instagram. He was responding to activist Tariq Ra'ouf who was calling for a boycott of any future Harry Potter projects due to Rowling's outspoken stance on trans issues. The British writer, 59, had celebrated a ruling by London's Supreme Court determining that, specifically within the terms of Britain's Equality act, 'woman' meant a biological female and not gender. Rowling, who also writes under the pen name JK Galbraith, has also been involved in wars of words over the subject with Sir Stephen Fry, Boy George and the three young actors who played the main trio in the original Harry Potter movies. Now Pascal has continued his opposition to Rowling in a new interview with Vanity Fair, in which he addressed the response to his Instagram comment earlier this year. Campaigner Mr Ra'ouf had written on Instagram: 'It has become our mission as the general public to make sure that every single thing that's Harry Potter related fails...because that awful disgusting s**t, that has consequences.'Again with the hysterics. No one denies that this person doesn't exist. We deny his delusion that he's a woman. This is a matter of pure fact. You have the right to exist. You do not have the right to use government or corporate force to compel free people to accept your deranged, delusionary view of the word. So if I understand this: People who do not play around with your brother's delusions are attempting to "erase" him from existence -- and you certainly don't want such bigots' money, do you? So you certainly are telling them not to see your movies, right? Trannies are insulting Rowling by saying she looks like a tranny. What an own-goal sort of insult. ![]()

The fact this ugly thing was promoted as the new Redford/Newman/Eastwood/Cruise/etc. is further proof that Hollywood is done and cannot recover. The whole point of a movie star is that they look better than the average person. No guy minded his wife liking Clark Gable because Clark Gable was a 1 in a million guy, and the husband probably wanted to emulate Gable himself. No one wants to be Pedro Pascal, and no normal person wants to see more of him in a leading role either. This guy would have been cast as a redshirt who got eaten by the killer plant in the first five minutes of a Star Trek episode 60 years ago.

The actor has doubled down on his Instagram criticism of the British author ====== It's funny. Because it's extremely obvious that the whole trans thing is sliding away culturally. I doubt this greatly affects F4's box office chances. I think that has more to do with generalized feelings towards the MCU. But, it's still a dumb thing to do. The Fantastic Four might not suck, but they've surely done a lot to ensure that it will. Supposedly, the rumor is that they had a whole host of men they wanted to cast as Reed Richards, but they all turned Marvel down. So they went with Pascal who was already overexposed.
Why turn down Marvel? Well we can only speculate, but possibly the role was so weak and lame that the actors didn't care to play that role. And certainly Marvel isn't the guaranteed hit it used to be, and that can hurt an actor's career to be in a bomb. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at June 24, 2025 04:41 PM (dfIr7) 171

Saw "28 Years Later". I enjoyed it. Well made. Very well directed and acted. They've pretty much decided to turn the franchise from concentrating on the Rage Virus Outbreaks to a sort of Gulliver's Travels where the Rage Folk are just a fact of life and the survivors are weirdos of various sorts to make political points. F'rinstance, 28YL is at its root an argument for assisted suicide, which apparently just got passed in Old Blightey. Some knocks against Christianity, which seem will be expanded upon in Part Two the series. The politics is mostly shoved in at the last quarter or so of the movie. I'm not an assisted suicide type at all but I wasn't particularly offended because it kinda fit into the story, but upon thinking about the movie later it was very obvious. Soooo, not as good as 28DL. Much better than 28WL. Not much hope for the sequel as the coda to 28YL makes it pretty obvious we're going to be getting yet another EEEEEEeeeevil White People movie. Anyway, check it out if you're a fan of the series. Posted by: naturalfake at June 24, 2025 04:42 PM (iJfKG) 185

That's the word. Mr Fantastic has a Mr Science show where he does his Bill Nye impression (expect at least one global warming crack), and isn't really in the movie all that much. Now, Sue Storm, the Invisible Girl, is the most powerful member of the team, but she's not the leader nor the most powerful personality, not by a long shot.

Hollywood stars were in fact much like real stars: bright, beautiful and distant.
Also like real stars, when you get closer, you find out that they are unbearable balls of burning gas. What makes stars - literal and of the Hollywood variety - "work" is their distance. With distance, they're beautiful and bright. Up close, not so much. Thanks to social media, we all got much closer than the minimum safe distance. Social media collapsed the distance, and thus collapsed the star. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at June 24, 2025 04:50 PM (6bTRc) 248
Yeah. I want to see this bastard taken down about 50 million pegs.
I can’t imagine having as much vitriol and emotional incontinence as he has for JK Rowling. Nothing she has said remotely justifies his response. Either he really is that out of control in which he needs a straight jacket or he gets his jollies bullying people this way in which I hope he’s shot by a fan as equally deranged. I also suspect he’s a fag based on the outburst. Posted by: Dr. Claw at June 24, 2025 04:50 PM (jbnUc) 249

So, you put actors into kinds of films, and then you prioritized production levels around actors who had proven histories of bringing in audiences. It didn't take long for actors and their PR agents to make it into something else, something ethereal and magical about the mysterious power of particular movie stars that could be described as charisma, though. Posted by: TheJamesMadison, reflecting on change and permanence with Ozu at June 24, 2025 04:51 PM ++++ Looking good helps do that. This is the "why do athletes get paid so much and schoolteachers so little" argument again. They don't, not in terms of persons served. Tom Brady probably made maybe a few cents per person served (viewer entertained) over the course of a season. A schoolteacher earns a couple of hundred bucks or more per person served. What allows the movie star to earn so much is the same thing that allowed movie stars to happen (and music stars, and athlete stars, etc): mass media, and therefore massed customers. With the media landscape fracturing and the audience so sub-sectioned, the masses aren't there anymore. The movie star really has no place anymore, and their general unpleasantness has compounded the problem dramatically. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at June 24, 2025 05:01 PM (6bTRc) 357

Bogart wasn't ugly. He certainly didn't take the pretty boy Cary Grant road to stardom, but he did not have the ugly, pudgy, pock-mocked complexion Pedro Pascal has. And Bogart could act. Ian Fleming described James Bond as looking a bit like Hoagy Carmichael, who had a somewhat Bogart-esque physiognomy.
But I never said that a movie star has to look pretty. I said that they have to look better than the average person. I'm even willing to concede that "better" here could involve non-beautiful traits. How many Sydney Greenstreets or Peter Lorres have you met in person. Neither was even close to being attractive, but both are fun to watch in part because they look different from the average person. Pedro is just an ugly schlub I can see hundreds of if I walk around in public for a couple of hours. Posted by: the lower depths at June 24, 2025 05:07 PM (+b4rY) 393

I liked the movie but didn't like Pascal because it really did seem like he was gay for Cage instead of the hot girl. re: NYC being hot as balls today. There was a big debate over whether or not to shut down the schools, because many don't have central air, some don't have any AC, and even the ones with AC have window units that may or may not work and usually only in the classrooms.
I don't know why that's so odd to me, but it is. NYC DOE gets god knows how much money, and in 2025, they still don't have AC in every classroom? When I was kid, we didn't either, but the school was built in the 1940's and the plan was always to retrofit it (I assume it has been done by now). Posted by: LizLem at June 24, 2025 05:06 PM (Eng1Z) It's pretty much only ever used as a humble-brag sort of word, as I see it. "Look at my new thing I just paid full price for OMG i'm so bougie". They're still embracing having money and buying the thing they want with it. There's a sarcastic nod to "Yes, this was totally unnecessary, aren't I just terrible", but it's also the joy of ownership, which is inherently capitalistic. It's taking pride in conspicuous consumption, the most "bourgeoise" thing imaginable. In a way I feel like the popularity (or resurgence) of the word is a kind of spit in the face at Marx, and not some kind of cryptic victory for him and his bullshit. Sandra Bullock in Love Potion number 5 is one of my big crushes, although she's way cuter as "mousy scientist" than "hot girl using wishes to date rich guys"
Have you guys seen the Ironheart trailer?? Yeah they have a few out. Marvel is doing their best to promote this turd, but everyone is expecting it to utterly suck. The story as near as I can work out from the videos is a girl who is called a genius by everyone but for some reason is unable to carry out her dreams despite having already built a suit of power armor while a freshman in college and gone to Wakanda. So she hooks up with this guy who is actually working for the devil, and goes out robbing rich people to "give to the poor" redistributing wealth with a posse of losers and freaks. She demands to be "iconic" but does nothing heroic in any of the trailers and is clearly self focused and spoiled. She has no dad, he died a while back. Her stepdad is missing from the picture as well. She has an AI like Tony Stark did with Jarvis, but this one is a sassy black hologram. She uses black magic (no joke actual evil spells) to power up her armor even more. It looks utterly dreadful Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at June 24, 2025 05:13 PM (dfIr7) 423

Hermione is black too, I think. So yay, let's make two of the most bullied characters in the series black, and add a racial twist to the pureblood angle. That will go over well. I also heard they might make the next James Bond the lead from the new Mufasa "live action" movie. They could have had Edris Elba, but noooooo. Let's get a little ponce to do it. Pretty much all dragon ideas have an upright stance (legs more or less vertical like a dino) while lizards have splayed out legs.) And of course the wings and fire breathing don't exist in nature.
I think you have a point: I think the wings were added to make the monster more demon like, similarly the fire breathing. And yes, the dragon is often shown as a bipedal wavers, but, in the iconography the dragon is always shown as supine (because it’s being killed) and depicted beneath St. George, so very like a Komodo dragon, which goes about on all fours and is a reptile, after all! I think the iconography goes back to Horus killing Set: Set was a crocodile, so very much what I’m getting at: a supine, dying, lizard-like creature shown beneath the mounted hero, whether Horus or St. George! https://is.gd/3k5OzY https://is.gd/6bgkbh Posted by: NemoMeImpuneLacessit at June 24, 2025 05:24 PM (qgNn3) 444
