484 Best. Troll. President. Ever. Posted by: Mark Andrew Edwards, Buy ammo at June 19, 2025 11:10 Absolutely. He is the funniest president ever if you get his humor. Tonight I saw a clip from the lefty media on whether Trump has dementia, of course it was to deflect the questions about Biden's obvious mental slippage. They quoted Trump as saying "Can I appoint myself?" in reference to some position. I doubt they don't realize it was a joke, they are just so deranged with TDS they will say anything to make him look bad. Guess the jokes on them because even the average American realizes they are just lying shitweasels in the media. Australia is moving closer to banning children from social media - which is impossible - after a story commission by the government showed that banning children from social media - which is impossible - is possible though they won't say how and admitted that there is no method that actually works.
I bet this is how it'll work... Aussie gov't: Alright, social media companies, you have to prevent all children from using your services and we'll fine you one million dollars (said using Dr. Evil voice) every time they do. A few moments later... Aussie gov't: Why have all the social media companies blocked Australia? Posted by: I used to have a different nic at June 20, 2025 05:01 AM (ExV1e) 11

Oh, never mind, Australia already passed this law in November of 2024, it's just got a one-year delayed effect and November of this year is not that far off.
Penalties seem to be issued in "Penalty Units" according to the text of the law, and searching that I find out that the number of units for a given offense is multiplied by the unit cost, as set by different regions of Australia, as low as $110 AUD and as high as $810 AUD. 63D Civil penalty for failing to take reasonable steps to prevent age‑restricted users having accounts 30,000 penalty units So anywhere between $3.3M and $24.3M AUD per offense under just that section, and there are other sections too. Yup, it's a shakedown, and the companies would be wise to do exactly what "I used to have a different nic" concluded in post # 10 above: "A few moments later... Aussie gov't: Why have all the social media companies blocked Australia?" Also: I did not expect to be diving into Australian law before work this morning. Then, bit by tiny bit, the daylight length will edge back until day and night are equal on approx. Sept. 21; and then night will take over until Dec. 21. And so on. Neat how that works. Comedian John Crist makes a medical emergency on a Spirit Aiine sound funny. Just skip down and avoid the narration. I don't know why "Faithpot" provides that . “I go, ‘There’s no doctor on a Spirit Airlines flight!'” he said. “I go, ‘You know where the doctors are? On Delta, OK?'”
- I wonder if the audience understood the underlying joke. Spirit Airlines is notoriously diverse. John Derbyshire diverse. "Tell your children to spend the extra money" (same as those cheap hotels that are so tempting) diverse. Probably an entire channel on youtube and thousands of monetized videos of fights while boarding, while in flight, while disembarking, etc. diverse. Tech related:
I happened upon a local option to run IBM's Granite AI (and others) on Windows using Ollama if your hardware supports it. The smaller models (deepseek has a 5GB one) should be doable with modern GPUs, but the large models drag even with 16GB vram and 64GB system. Going to need a heavy lifting machine to run those with speed. Fun to tinker with and is entirely local, and doesn't phone home. There are other models at ollama.com/search, but this will get you started if you're interested: https://tinyurl.com/yr65rkca Posted by: Boron Cobbie - The 19th Amendment is a civilization level sh*t test at June 20, 2025 06:34 AM (A/XWQ) 74

Posted by: fd at June 20, 2025 06:25 AM (vFG9F) I’ll never find out. I only ever watched the CBS soaps, long, long ago. My Grandma watched them when I visited her during summer vacation and she wouldn’t let me change the channel. Suddenly I became interested in Bold and the Beautiful, Young and the Restless, As The World Turns and Guiding Light. They only let me watch the Iran-Contra hearings one summer because Grandma and my aunt were eager to hear what Ollie North did to Fawn Hall. Fawn is actually a pretty good girl’s name now that I think about it. You’d think it would’ve become more popular, but no, we can’t have nice things, so Madison won out as a girls name in the late 80s. Posted by: SpeakingOf at June 20, 2025 06:35 AM (6ydKt) 76

The fact that you can put a closing bracket in and not an opening one does nothing to prevent against injection. So that's probably handled some other way. Looking at a 1950 Ford Delux 4dr sedan, with 3speed/overdrive V8. It's colored that real dark green that looks black under certain lighting. Presents very well has had 1 repaint in same green. A survivor that has been in the same family since 1955, an original Va car I can't find any rust on save the usual surface rust underneath all cars get. The family is finally willing to sell it, do think I'll pull the trigger.

Napoleon III was nothing like his uncle when it came to battlefield prowess and Emperor Maximilian was pretty much useless. They may have taken some land but it wouldn’t have been much of a problem to take it back. The U.S. Army still had some decent experience so soon after the late unpleasantness. Posted by: The Moron Detective at June 20, 2025 06:49 AM (fmqgI) Kids aren’t scared of screwing around with tech until it does something cool. I was like that as a kid. If something had to be done with the cable, tv, VCR, or home stereo system, or a computer, it became my job - forever. Meanwhile, adults are hesitant to hit any buttons that they don’t know what they do because they’re scared they might break something. Old people forget how curious, cunning, creative & courageous kids can be when they want to really do something. And nowadays when one kid figures out how to get around something, every kid on the planet with internet access will know it within a month or so, Posted by: SpeakingOf at June 20, 2025 07:16 AM (6ydKt) 136

I never heard of Juneteenth until we moved from Baton Rouge to Houston late last century. It was described then as "something celebrated in the third ward". Naturally the alphabet people took an obscure thing and forced it nationally. Yesterday was the first time I heard someone deep in yankee land wish folks a "happy juneteenth" and it was met with a chorus of groans (heh!). I have mixed feelings about celebrating what we did as a country and a culture to end slavery. The problem with the liberal alphabet people is that every thing they do is intended as imperialistic finger in the eye. All these fake holidays and months can just die.
