Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump: I'll Decide Within #TwoWeeks Whether I'll Send Bombers to Take Out the Iranian Nuke SitesRapid Response 47Trump doesn't want to alienate the minority of his base that has gone full Code Pink, so he wants to delay making a decision. There are several things that could happen that could make it unnecessary for him to decide at all, thus allowing him to skate past this political headache without upsetting anyone (except the people who demand he affirmatively join Iran's cause and save them from the wrath of our allies in Israel, like Tucker Carlson). First, the Iranian regime could actually agree to "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER," at least as far as their nuke programs. As the situation gets worse for them, they might well go back on their vow to never, ever give up their nuke program. They might agree to denucularization and the UN's atomic energy regulators could be allowed to come in and take all the enriched uranium and the enrichment equipment away. Second, the Iranian regime could collapse. In which case, a deal might be reached with the successor government to evacuate nuclear materials out of Iran. Third, Israel might just take care of this all themselves and spare Trump the bother of having to give a controversial order. While Israeli planes are far too small to carry the 30,000 pound Massive Ordnance Penetrator that is designed to take out very hardened underground bunkers, they could airdrop in commandos armed with huge amounts of explosives to physically carry them into Fodrow and set the charges on the walls of the place. It's a man-made cave under a mountain; with enough explosives and some smart engineering, it can be collapsed. Also, as David Strom suggests, while the Israelis don't have any warplanes that can carry a 30,000 pound munition, they do have C-130 cargo planes, and such massive cargo lifters have been used to drop ordnance in the past. He links this article suggesting that Israeli C-130s could drop the MOP. There is certainly a precedent for C-130s dropping absolutely massive bombs out of their cargo holds, both old and new. The BLU-82 Daisy Cutter was dropped by C-130, primarily to clear landing zones, during the Vietnam War. A modernized fuel-air weapon known as the GBU-43 Mother Of All Bombs (MOAB) is in service today, and it was used with devastating results in Afghanistan in 2017. So why not a super-heavy penetrator? Dropping a weapon weighing nearly 30,000 pounds out the back of a C-130 would certainly be something to behold. The MOAB clocks in at nearly a third lighter than MOP. Still, MOP or a similar weapon could be designed to maximize the C-130's airdrop envelope and not exceed it, and should have no problem fitting inside of and being released by a C-130.The problem is that the C-130 is the opposite of stealthy, and would not survive an attempt to deliver the bomb if Iran could get its air defense missiles to lock on it. But do they have many of those left? Israel has focused on taking out Iran's air defense grid since the first seconds of the war, and they continue taking them out. Can they degrade those capabilities so much that a big fat clumsy C-130 can fly in without being attacked?

Fourth. While a B-2 could be there and back in 24 hours or so, it takes a lot of time to deploy a credible American force to the CENTCOM Region. It also takes time to spin up crews and troops to know the threat there. We do not want to be sending in a single B-2 alone without any American cover, or support. Sure, the Israelis could assist, but we still need to d some things ourselves.

They need to put together a credible threat of retaliation if there is a bombing run on fordow by the US. They aren't really negotiating. They are stalling. Again. They will just make threats. "Rods from God" refers to a weapon system, which I think is hypothetical, of putting heavy tungsten rods into space and just dropping them from orbit. There's no explosive; the idea is just to rely on the massive kinetic energy of a heavy metal rod falling all the way from orbit to the earth.

Its useful to remember that nearly everything Trump does is in terms of negotiation toward a desired end. This is what the TACO guys don't get: he doesn't care if you think he gave up or not, in fact he's kinda counting on it. He cares if he gets the goal. If he gets the win, its a win no matter what you said in the meantime.

The most interesting video I've seen regarding this issue is one from two days ago showing KURDISH troops somewhere in northwest Iran basically seizing control of some small town. Locals didn't seem to mind -- possibly they are ethnically Kurdish too.
Something has to ignite the fuse to start the Iranian counter-revolution. Maybe the Kurds taking this opportunity to create a home base for their long-hoped-for Greater Kurdistan by carving it out of Iran, and using it as the starting point for perhaps later annexation of other Kurdish areas. This would piss off the iranian govt. so much that a shooting war would break out, and then the rest of the country would basically go nuts and overthrow the regime. It's a thought. so one tic I see the Paulites doing is claiming that all of the bad things will happen if we take any action at all (or simply do not force Israel to stop attacking Iran), and they never once admit that any bad outcomes could EVER flow from their choice to leave a crazed apocalyptic regime, which has repeatedly murdered americans and even sent a hit squad in to kill Trump, have nuclear weapons.
We always hear that if the regime collapses there'll be refugees -- who cares, Trump won't let them in -- but it's never acknowledged that Iran will use the nukes the moment it has them. They just claim that's a propagana lie from the Zionists and that Iran is really just misunderstood. Iran has made itself perfectly clear. It's not misunderstood. WWIII would depend on other big powers like Russia and China stepping in. Russia already has a war going on and I don't see a compelling interest for it to get involved. China gets about 10% of its oil supply from Iran, which is significant, but is a temporary disruption in that supply significant enough for it to confront the US? If Israel actually does attempt a commando raid to blowup Fordow, it would either be the most epic military micro-strike in history, or be an epic disaster if things went haywire and they all got caught or captured. (Echoes of Carter's failed 1980 helicopter raid to rescue the hostages.) One has to assume that the Iranians have spent decades securing and protecting Fordow with their most intense security perimeter, and have backups plans for their backups plans. It would have to be one hell of a raid to succeed.

In the 1960s the USAF had satellites the size of box cars in LEO taking telescopic photos of everything below them. The Hubble Space Telescope was basically the same thing with the telescope turned to look out rather than in. One difference was the Hubble sent back its images electronically but the Air Force spy satellites sent back film that was retrieved by the USAF in mid-air. Now my point is, these satellites, at least in the 1960s, were theoretical, people knew we could be doing something like that, but unless you had a “need to know” about them, you didn’t know they existed. Could there be “Rods from God” in orbit right now? We don’t know. And unless you have a “need to know” you don’t know. If we got them, we don’t necessarily want to use them, and thus announce their existence, at the present time. YMMV.

Easy answer - C130. The bomb is modified to have a rocket pack on the tail, accelerating it past 500 mph before impact.
Bomb is 30,000 lbs. But the C130 can carry 44,000 pounds. So, rocket pack is no problem. You are also pushing it down with gravity. And the bomb is signed to go very fast. Getting in and out - you have two weeks of air defense suppression. I don't think they have much left, and if they do, it's all clustered around the remains of the leadership. The Navy has to have some old vessels that waiting to be scrapped, right? Just load one of those suckers on a ship, run it aground on Kharg Island, and set it off. True, that won't do anything to stop the nuke program directly, but it would definitely remove the walking-around money from the mullahs. they could airdrop in commandos armed with huge amounts of explosives to physically carry them into Fodrow and set the charges on the walls of the place.
Or one moderate nuclear device. - Vapourizes everything inside. - Leaves an empty underground sphere - Detonation creates a blast wave pulse that moves through the earth and is picked up by seismic stations across the globe. Nuclear underground tests have an identifiable fingerprint. And then you say nothing because you don't have to. And you seal the entrance shaft up with lead and concrete, and you're done. yeah, but having almost complete air supremacy can help ground troops out of a lot of jams. have you seen the drone warfare vids in Ukraine? They drop bombs right through the sun-roofs of cars. Israel would have a fleet of drones protecting their troops, plus conventional fighter-bombers overflying them. Not saying that the disaster you're talking about coudn't happen. It could. But... it's doable. Posted by: ace Any raid would have to be preceded by carpet-bombing the entire vicinity to clear out any existing Iranian troops and personnel, to make a safe landing zone. Then they'd have to defend their "beachhead" and pour in enough paratroopers to both get the job done inside the mountain and to defend the perimeter from the inevitable attacks from the Iranian military. And then -- the boobytraps. Makes me nervous just thinking about it. But at the same time, I so want to see it happen. Posted by: zombie at June 19, 2025 06:01 PM (pMi6S) 256

This is the first definitive moment when Iran's nuclear ambition can be stopped cold. It might be there in 2 weeks. It might not. The Europeans and the Chicoms are sniffing around with offers to mediate. All they have to do to fubar this whole thing to drop in some "peace keepers" in Iran under the guise of ensuring a peaceful resolution. Signaling he's willing to wait 2 weeks opens that window wide. 165 "Rods from God" refers to a weapon system, which I think is hypothetical, of putting heavy tungsten rods into space and just dropping them from orbit. There's no explosive; the idea is just to rely on the massive kinetic energy of a heavy metal rod falling all the way from orbit to the earth.

Also Tehran is largely deserted, no businesses are open, no one has any money. Gas lines stretch miles long to stations that are out of fuel. Some of this due to the general chaos, some due to an Isreali cyberattack that destroyed their financial networks and erased a lot of their reserves. Food distribution systems will be breaking down next. This is actually an argument for waiting, since there is every chance Iran could collapse internally before Trump's two weeks are up. The bomb would naturally contain large kinetic energy because it moves at orbital velocities, around 8 kilometres per second (26,000 ft/s; Mach 24) in orbit and 3 kilometres per second (9,800 ft/s; Mach 8. at impact. As the rod reenters Earth's atmosphere, it would lose most of its velocity, but the remaining energy would cause considerable damage. Some systems are quoted as having the yield of a small tactical nuclear bomb.
https://tinyurl.com/mrynx4uv Posted by: rickb223 at June 19, 2025 06:18 PM (WZaJc) The theory also is that you have precision to enable the Rod to precisely hit the target. You dont need a nuke to take out a bunker AND the city around it, when you can just hit the bunker itself and limit the damage in the city. Posted by: Oldcat at June 19, 2025 06:26 PM (8avO+) 371

Kam Kuwata, a Dim friend and consultant of Feinstein's heard Boo and another man moaning and the smell of poppers at a convention. Told Diane. He was also rabidly against Kam running for AG in CA but she won anyway. Several months later he "died suddenly" in his condo and wasn't found for days. Just to help out some people - the rods from God - it's a rod. Why a rod? Because it needs to have a small cross sectional area on the tip of the rod. That reduces air resistance and allows it to fall faster. That tip is coated with an ablative heat shield that prevents the air from burning up the rod.

Get them close enough and drop a MOAB on them, that would make it a lot easier to plop a MOP on their heads.
