I will assume that he initiay reached out the olive branch in good faith- he really does strike me as the type for who would give up a small measure of honor in order to maintain peace, and that he sees himself as a world class negotiator. But at some point the talks became a subterfuge to help camouflage the Isreali prep for the attack. I can understand that Trump and his team probably became exasperated at the lack of seriousness that the Ayatollah's minions were putting into making a deal, but I think the right thing to do would have been to walk away and tell he Iranians that the repercussions were a result of their own intransigence. Continuing the talks only as a means of allowing a third party to prep for battle will only make us seem untrustworthy in future talks, and make foes less likely to show up for talks in the future.

Just going by the low end of "millions" as 2 million and assuming one protest in every state...

2 million divided by 50 cities is 40,000 people needed at each protest.

Maybe in larger cities there could be thousands of people show up, but I doubt anything close to even 10,000, let alone 40,000.

And in the smaller cities, likely nothing more than hundreds, let alone thousands.

Assuming a generous estimate of 5,000 people protest in 50 cities across the country, that comes to a total of 250,000.

But "millions of Americans" sounds better for their propaganda than "hundreds of thousands of Americans".

I did say that, but I wouldn't call it backtracking. I've listened carefully to his language for the last few years, and it was very clear to me that he had no intention of sending back tens of millions of people. I still believe that and have said so for years. I think there will be economic benefits to leaving some here, because they're good workers and are already tightly integrated into our economy, which has come to rely on them, but that leaves tens of millions who will be a net drag on the economy. But sure, a little snark about covers that.

It's my last day of working as a janitor's assistant at the library my senior year at Washington State University. In two days I would graduate and be commissioned into the Army. My boss was a little guy, WW2 Veteran with the 101st. He was injured in Bastogne and walked with a limp.
I got to work that morning and he said no working today and to follow him. He gave me a box to carry and took me up a back stairs that I didn't know existed. We exited on the roof...it was the highest point on campus and the city of Pullman.
We went to the flag poles and he pulled down the state flag and the colors. Together we folded them and still without saying a word, he opened the box I had carried up the stairs and removed two new flags. We ran those up the flag poles. Placing the old flags in the box, we returned to his office. Once there he gave me the box and said, "LT, it has been a pleasure working with you and I wish you the best in your career. Airborne!" He then saluted.
With tears in my eyes I returned the salute and I have never forgotten him. 50 years later, I still have those flags and have carried them with me on every deployment.

I can't help noticing that this is all taking place just as things are starting to warm up on the money laundering front. Some convictions yesterday on USAID abuse. We have one within walking distance . . . but I distrust the staff and clientele there. The one in the suburbs, though it's a twenty-minute drive, usually offers a better experience. Still expensive, but better in several ways.

The way I look at it, he's just finally getting to do what he said he was going to do in his first term. It makes sense in a number of ways, starting with the obvious fact that they are the illegals you most want to be rid of because they are an obvious public safety risk.

But there's also the aspect that the reason the Dems are losing their minds over this is that criminal illegals are their foot soldiers for the acts of terror and assassination that they have in mind.

The fact that it looks bad for the Dems is just a coincidence. Ordinarily, you'd think the Dems would lay low during this phase, and have no problems with criminals going away, but the Dems are a bunch of serious criminals and are being exposed as such. They are panicking - and thereby making mistakes.

350 I would have volunteered to do this parade when I was active duty. They were always fun to do. An hour of marching and lots of free beer afterward. Also, the units that sent vehicles are very happy. It meant a brand new paint job. When President Bush spoke at Fort Hood in 2005, my Bradley got a brand new paint job because it was going to be parked next to the podium. My driver got a Presidential coin from Bush as he walked off the stage.

What can I say: it’s a college town, so some commie teachers conned some of their more gullible students to come out. I was one block away from it at the P.O., sending in my quarterly taxes, while it was going on. I could hear their “worthy of a Greyhound bus station” P.A. system playing some sort of recorded music from the P.O. You could not see anybody on the street between the P.O. and their meeting spot. This was confirmed by the local media photos. They were only on one side of one corner where two streets intersect. I’d call it a fizzle.
