I don’t know what it is with the squirrels around here.
I see them every morning, usually one or two in each yard, walking around foraging. There’s always a few that like to hang out on the grass between the sidewalks and the road. At least one of them will panic when it sees the car coming its way, do it’s decision making process turning its head back and forth trying to figure out which way to run, and then always decides to run out in front of the car at the last second. Keep in mind it was totally safe where it was but they haven’t figured out the cars usually drive on the road and not the sidewalk. Of course, the ones that are hanging out in the road when I drive by make the same stupid mistakes, too. You’d figure it’d run to the nearest sidewalk but nope, they run to the other side of the road while I’m dodging them hoping they don’t run under a tire when I can’t see them. Army’s 250th birthday week-long celebration from June 7-14, 2025
By U.S. Army Public Affairs Members of the media are invited to attend the Army’s 250th birthday week-long celebration from June 7-14, 2025. This year’s birthday theme, “This we’ll defend,” was first used as a battle cry by the Continental Army. Today, it reminds us that our Army’s purpose is clear: to fight and win the nation’s wars. We remain committed to honing our warfighting skills, enforcing standards and discipline, and living the values that have defined our Army for the past 250 years. The videos yesterday were of ordinary Egyptians beating the shit out of them, dragging them by their hair, and throwing them out of their country. Hilarious! One other thought about Egypt - they are often criticized by both sides for sealing off their border with Gaza and building a huge wall there, plus parking a battalion of main battle tanks behind it in case anyone tries to mess with it.
But to me that simply means that Egypt strongly believes that Borders are Important; and that Borders must be defended if you wish to survive as a nation. I cannot fault them for believing that; not one tiny bit. Posted by: Tom Servo at June 14, 2025 07:43 AM (e15Ap) 80

84 You even hear legal immigrants whine about how tough the feds make it for them. I had a friend, Brit, who was a legal alien. He insisted that he was born an Englishman and would die as one (he did) so no US Citizenship. He used to keep everything in order. I think it was once a year he would have to drive from Erie to Pittsburgh, renew some stuff with INS and then go for a sammich at Primanti's. That was it.

50 A grandmother has chosen to self-deport over fears she'd be kicked out of the United States and sent to Mexico by Donald Trump.
The 51-year-old woman, identified only as Regina, has lived in South Los Angeles since 1989 but boarded a one-way flight to Mexico City on June 7 and left her life behind. —- I’m pretty sure she took her life with her. Unless they’re saying that Trump killed her so hard that she flew back home to Mexico as a ghost and is now haunting some random taco stand in Tlalpan. 79 One other thought about Egypt - they are often criticized by both sides for sealing off their border with Gaza and building a huge wall there, plus parking a battalion of main battle tanks behind it in case anyone tries to mess with it.
But to me that simply means that Egypt strongly believes that Borders are Important; and that Borders must be defended if you wish to survive as a nation. I cannot fault them for believing that; not one tiny bit. Posted by: Tom Servo at June 14, 2025 07:43 AM (e15Ap) May I ask why the not-open-borders side would criticize that choice? One of the funniest things about the Sid and My Kraft Supershow is that it was filmed inside the building that would become CNN’s HQ after “Thff ed World of Sid and Marty Kroft” (an indoor Atlanta theme park) failed.
