Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | CNN May Fire Anderson Cooper and Jake Tapper to Make the Company More Attractive for a BuyerCNN is making so much money for Warner Discovery that the company is looking to spin it off into another company called "Loser Deadweight Ratings Poison Networks LLC" if my facts are correct. Update: My facts weren't correct. It will be called "Global Networks" or something gay and vague like that. They will be reviewing the exorbitant salaries they're paying proven ratings-disasters like Anderson Cooper. No one wants to buy a dying company until management gets serious about making it at least plausibly profitable in the future.CNN is reportedly paying anchor Anderson Cooper $18 million a year -- an eye-popping sum that could be in the crosshairs when the ratings-challenged network is spun off by its debt-ridden parent company. Cooper, the face of the network and host of its primetime show at 8 p.m., along with other anchors like Kaitlan Collins and Jake Tapper face an uncertain future following Monday's stunning announcement by Warner Bros. Discovery boss David Zaslav about the looming split, according to the Puck newsletter. Zaslav tapped WBD Chief Financial Officer Gunnar Wiedenfels to take over CNN and other cable assets including TNT, TBS, HGTV as part of a new company called Global Networks. A source told The Post that CNN staffers are worried about Wiedenfel, who they say has a reputation for ruthlessly cutting costs. "Gunnar news is not good," the person said. "He is slash and burn." Puck media writer Dylan Byers singled out Cooper and his $18 million salary as a possible target, considering the network remains mired in last place in the ratings. "Why, for instance, would Gunnar pay Anderson Cooper $18 million a year when Kaitlan Collins draws the same ratings at roughly a fifth of the salary?" Byers wrote. According to the latest Nielsen ratings, "Anderson Cooper 360" drew 647,000 total viewers on Tuesday -- or about $27 per viewer.LOL. I see Podcast Opportunities in zis future. "Gunnar news is not good," the person said. "He is slash and burn." ++++ Good, if it happens. But "slash-and-burn" is done for a *reason.* Brazil doesn't clear-cut jungle just to get rid of it, it clear-cuts jungle so it can do something else with the land - usually agriculture. "CNN May Fire Anderson Cooper and Jake Tapper to Make the Company More Attractive for a Buyer"
Ace, this makes no sense to me. If CNN can in fact fire these two twatlers -- I don't know what their contracts say -- then any new buyer can do that as well. Obviously, any potential buyer will review the contracts and know exactly what it can and can't do. I don't see why CNN would fire them now, rather than let any new buyer do whatever it wants with them. That buyer might want to keep them on at reduced pay, etc. Or the deal may be that CNN pays a certain portion of their salaries even after the sale, sorta like some sportsball trades where the team trades away an expensive contract but remains on the hook for part of it. Put another way, it makes more sense to keep these twats on to give the buyer more options. Posted by: Elric Blade at June 13, 2025 12:28 PM (iFTx/) 38

Anderson Cooper pulls about 600k viewers per night. Let's be generous and call it 650k and pretend that 'The Demo' doesn't exist and so total viewers are what counts.
Assuming they tune in regularly (likely), CNN is paying Anderson Cooper almost $28 *per viewer* he brings in. Compare that to Jesse Watters on Fox News. he brings in about 4.1 million viewers on average, and is paid $16 million per year. Fox News is paying Jesse Watters around $4 per viewer. Relatively, Anderson Cooper earns 7x more Jesse Watters. Anderson Cooper is grossly overpaid. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at June 13, 2025 12:34 PM (6bTRc) 78

I went in with very low expectations, given the poor reviews, box office flop, and poisonous woke bullshit. But I thought it was one of the better Marvel movies of the last 5 years. No, that ain't saying much. But it was far from the catastrophe most people said it was. Yes, it was woke, but the two best characters were white: President Ross and the Israeli lady. 82 I saw Captain America Brave New World last night. I have to say, it was ... pretty good.
The lead character (black) was whiny and a terrible soldier who let personal vendettas get in the way of his job. His latino sidekick was annoying. Harrison Ford is a f**king sellout. He's allowed every character that made him a star to be ridiculed and c*cked. Anthony Mackie can s*ck it ever since he became a terrorist apologist in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. F*ck that movie. I would only see it if i got to roll Feige down a flight of stairs in his office chair. Posted by: Nelly at June 13, 2025 12:55 PM (cHLus) 211

The United States has deployed at least 12 warships to the Middle East, including the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, amphibious assault teams, and over 4,000 Marines and sailors, in response to escalating tensions in the region following the assassinations of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah military chief Fuad Shukr12.
