Deporting illegals does not take normal criminal due process, because the process is outlined in federal statutes. It is a procedure, not a criminal case. They do not have to have a warrant, it is presumed for all illegals that they are wanted by the federal government and no judge is required to issue a warrant for their arrest. They are fugitives.

Hochul is my governor. She was the Erie County clerk who won a special election to fill the seat of a Republican congressman who resigned because of corruption. She was going to be out of office because of redistricting. Cuomo got rid of his first Lt gov because he wanted a woman. She became gov when he resigned. She won reelection but Lee Zelden ran a good race and only lost because of the overwhelming NYC and suburbs Dems. She's corrupt and dumb as a box of rocks

The dems are fighting so hard because they can't afford to have revealed what their embrace of illegal immigration is protecting. And the danger is that the feds are no longer under their control, and so with this outbreak the financial situation is being examined. Yes, some of the money is public money, but how it was directed where and who told these groups what to do is going to be found out. Perhaps the Executive Directors of these NGO's will say nothing and go to jail for 5-10 years.

They've made some high profile judical process gives - but very quietly they have mostly been ignoring them or moving to work arounds that achieve the same result a little more difficultly. And they are winning quite often on appeal. I don't have a score card in front of me, but 90% win rate I'm guessing.

It's a jumbled mess, and my objection is to Trump not just basically saying "We're not listening to any judges. Let the Supremes weigh in on who is President, me or them."
Trump may not be saying it, but isn’t that what he is doing? These are TROs, that is, temporary restraining orders. Even if they are unconstitutional (they are), they are inherently time limited. They can only slow things down, for a short time, when they are not just ignored, which seems to be the Trump policy.

1) Bush caved on no new taxes, a totally unforced error.
2) If it was a handover, a powerful Dem would have taken the levers of power himself. All the big Dems thought it was a no hoper election and only the unknown flakes were running.
3) Why would Bush want to hand over power to anyone rather than keep it? And then pass it on to another squish R?
4) Clinton did a lot to sugarcoat Dems as not tax and spenders when he was squirming to avoid his philandering.

He was run by the NYT - they forced him to "compromise" on the "no new taxes" pledge knowing it would tank his campaign.
I still think he was more popular than reported but he certainly would have been more popular if they (the media) did not hammer him for following their orders to raise taxes. Also they hammered him on the fake supermarket scanner story.
But the killer was that angry midget. We have him to thank for Clinton.
