--

I was just reading an interpretation that there is very little said in the Bible about Mary's relationship with Jesus, but there are some insights. Jesus was told his mother and brothers were outside and wanted to see him, and he appeared to not emphasize their familial ties (Matthew 12:48-50 "Who is my mother and who are my brothers?") to him but rather stated that all who do the will of the Father are his mother, brothers, sisters. But again, he asked John to take care of her mother after his death, indicating a special caring for her in particular, imo.

Of course, I defer to other much more knowledgeable people here than I.

Reddit’s response? We need trains man not more highways!!! It’s like do you people fucking live in the same place I do? First off nobody wants to take a train. This isn’t NYC. It’s gone from bad to full-blown domestic terrorism.

🔫 Today, in broad daylight, left-wing rioters opened fire on police officers — yes, they’re literally trying to kill law enforcement.

This is no longer about “protest.” This is about anarchy, violence, and open war on law & order.

And guess what?

👉 The same Democrat politicians and activist agitators who fanned the flames for days are now silent — or worse, still defending it.

This madness was incited by the same people who said ICE was evil, police are “oppressors,” and that rioters were “heroes.”

💣 Enough is enough.

🛑 Every politician and activist who helped fuel this must be investigated and held accountable.

🇺🇸 America cannot survive if our leaders are defending those trying to murder cops.

185 Trains can work in large dense metro areas. Where I live it’s nothing like that. The vast majority of people live in single family homes. And a substantial number of people live out in semi rural areas.close enough to the city to commute. And while there is a downtown, it’s not like the old days where everyone lived in the burbs and came downtown for work. There are office parks all over the place. There’s a lot of suburb to suburb commuting. Probably as much as suburb to downtown commuting.and for non work stuff like restaurants and bars, same thing. There are a lot of neighborhoods that people go to. It’s not the traditional “all the cool stuff is dis town” like it used to be. You’d need 20 trains cross crossing the area to make people interested in it vs driving. It’s simply not feasible.

But for the left/Reddit none of that matters. Trains are like climate change. It’s part of their religion. No matter how much evidence you provide to the contrary, they’re convinced it’s the only viable option.

There's no 78-45-33-16 speed marker, either. You have to play the record and adjust the turntable speed to what sounds 'correct.'

The Hobbs Act, codified at 18 U.S.C. § 1951, is a United States federal law enacted in 1946 that prohibits actual or attempted robbery or extortion that affects interstate or foreign commerce, as well as conspiracies to do so. The Act is named for United States Representative Sam Hobbs (D-AL).

The statute, despite being conceived and enacted as an anti-racketeering measure in disputes between labor and management, is frequently used in connection with cases involving public corruption, commercial disputes, and corruption directed at members of labor unions.

Probably a conversion issue.

Channeling 5.1 (or greater) into a 2.0 stereo output of your TV. Done poorly, it shoves everything through the two speakers of the TV, muddling things. Done correctly, it diminishes surround effects and prioritizes the front channels, in particular the central channel.

It may be worthwhile to look through your television's audio menu to find the appropriate settings.

If anyone is still using just the two speakers on the TV, my advice is upgrade to a soundbar. Even the cheaper basic 5.1 models go a good job of LF, C, RF, and sub and a decent job simulating SL and SR. It makes a huge difference. Listen to the Blade.

For a true audiophile experience, a true receiver is the way to go, but that's more space and effort to set it up. So unless you're hardcore, I just recommend a soundbar.

Itunes was the tie-in, which then became the Apple Istore or whatever. Those two a-holes blocking traffic and preventing that woman from going to work were sooooo proud and smug about their actions that they broadcast their faces all over the internet.

They should be identified then arrested for civil rights violations, on video, of course as a nice FAFO.

Wikipedia: In part, "He (Henry Ossawa Tanner) became the first African-American painter to gain international acclaim. Tanner moved to Paris, France, in 1891 to study at the Académie Julian and gained acclaim in French artistic circles."

American Art Collaborative Org
Henry Ossawa Tanner used his Swedish-born wife Jessie and their son Jesse as models for the Virgin and Christ, giving the work a double resonance as both a meditative biblical scene and a tender family portrait. The first African American artist to obtain international acclaim, Tanner is the last great exponent of religious painting in European and American art. The son of an African Methodist Episcopal minister, Tanner studied with Thomas Eakins at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts before pursuing a career in Paris, where the professional and societal obstacles facing people of color were not as severe as in 19th- and early 20th-century America. Tanner's religious paintings were popular and critical successes at the Salon and with collectors on two continents.

But I find that what I am driven by most as a coach of littles is watching MLB body mechanics (mostly hitting and pitching) to try to discover optimal body motions to teach the kids as they start to discover the sport and work on improving their skills.

If any of you are lucky enough to live in or near a city that has one of the Major League Baseball teams' AAA affiliate, that's a great bargain for entertainment. I live in such a city, and a couple of times each summer I get to see MLB players who are in my city on a rehab assignment. The cost is a pittance compared to MLB ticket prices.

383 Nurse

We did the best we could with what we knew at the time.

I've been through all the shoulda-coulda-woulda thoughts for years, as we have a son who has estranged himself from his father and me. I made a lot of mistakes, but I also tried really hard to be a good mom.
Did you try? Did you do your best at that time, with whatever else was going on in your life? Did you love them the best you could? That's all anyone can do.

384 There's a bird called the Painted Bunting that shows up in Texas and the lower East Coast. It literally looks like a bird that someone just splashed a bunch of primary colors over, just for fun. It's amazing to see one in the wild.

I've seen one since 1979. And it was three years ago at my in-laws bird feeder.

As a die-hard non-user of TV, that's shit I don't have to care about.

388 There's no 78-45-33-16 speed marker, either. You have to play the record and adjust the turntable speed to what sounds 'correct.'

I have a Victor III on which I play many of my older shellac records. In the spring and fall, there is a huge "mechanical music" show at the PAL building in Wayne. Tons of old shellac records for sale, along with every reproducing machine from cylinder types to early disc. A favorite show of mine for many years. Bring money.
