Good morning boys and girls and everything in between. Before we enter the Prayer Revival just a few housekeeping matters to go over. (Rulz for those of you in Barnes.) 1) This is an open thread. Feel free to lurk, opine and/or bloviate.
2) Be kind, be nice. Even the trolls have retarded feelings.
3) No, you may not run with sharp objects here.

AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List
Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update. Prayer Requests: 5/3 – D asked for prayers for his wife, Susan, who has been having some issues. They went to the hospital on 5/1, and all the signs are pointing to pancreatic cancer. They meet with other doctors on 5/5. Any prayers would be a blessing.
5/14 Update – Susan is having less pain now. Thank you for the prayers.
5/23 Update – Thank you again for all your prayers. Susan had a PET scan, and they should receive the results on 6/4. 5/8 - Don Draper asked for prayers for his wife. They lost their Kelpie companion on 5/7 due to complications from lymphoma. His wife is devastated. 5/8 – Backwoods Willy requested prayers for a partner church of theirs in Pakistan. One of the initial strikes by India was very close to the church and the pastor’s home. Ongoing shelling is nearby. Please pray for the Lord’s protection for Pastor S, his family, and his church. 5/10 – Cosda asked for prayers for his wife, who recently had a mole removed that came back as melanoma cancer. She is scheduled for surgery next week, and it looks like that should remove it completely. 5/11 – Ciampino sent his thanks for the prayers. He was injured by a cat scratch that caused a lot more bleeding than he realized was happening. He also ended up with sepsis and septic shock, and in critical condition. He was treated with IV antibiotics, 5 units of blood, and steroids. He also got his first helicopter ride, as he was transferred from one hospital to another for care.
5/14 – Ciampino is home. 5/16 – KT is still under the weather but is recovering slowly. 5/17 – neverenoughcaffiene asked for prayers for her sister-in-law, Jackie, who is looking at dialysis. Her kidneys have been failing for several years is she is getting close based on her numbers. Hopefully new meds will help.
5/24 – The new meds have not helped. Her score for kidney function is 16, and the trigger for dialysis is 15. 5/17 – B asked for prayers for the Lord to move a bowel food constriction or “kink” out so that his bowels would function properly.
5/31 Update – B sent his thanks for the prayers. He is healed from the bowel obstruction. He requested prayers for his friend, Jerry, who is in the hospital needing surgery for an ulcer and MRSA, and another friend, Mary, who is fighting cancer. 5/17 – Polliwog the ‘Ette had a physical recently, and some test results indicate a need for major changes in diet. She would appreciate prayers for wisdom and discernment in creating a food plan that works for the entire family’s various needs, and the ability to make healthy choices on a long-term basis. 5/17 – Brother Tim would deeply appreciate prayers. He had a growth on the side of his face for years, and it is scheduled for removal on 6/20. Depending on the biopsy results, they may also need to remove some lymph nodes. This is on top of his housing issues, other health issues, and not enough income. 5/20 – Stateless could use some prayers. 5/23 – Hrothgar asks for prayers for a dear friend’s son. Tim battled cancer 20 years ago, but has been living with kidney disease for several years. It has progressed to the point that he needs a transplant. In a real blessing, he was approved for the transplant list. Please pray for Tim, that he would receive a donated kidney. There is no cost to the donor, and the donor generally goes on to live a full life with just one kidney, and it would make a huge difference for Tim, versus long-term dialysis.
5/31 Update – Tim must lose 50 pounds in the next 90 days to remain on the transplant list, and he is thinking that is impossible. Please pray that he realizes what a God-given blessing he has been given to reach this point, and that he makes the right lifestyle choices to lose that weight. 5/24 – Captain Obvious requested prayers for his friend J, who will be having surgery on 6/9 to try and relieve her chronic pain. She also has concerns because she is on blood thinners and nearly bled out after her hip replacement. Please pray for the best possible outcome and also to relieve her anxiety. 5/24 – L sent an update. Her daughter, Shannon, the Franciscan sister who we prayed for when she had heart surgery, is much improved. There were some setbacks along the way – a problem with defibrillation and a respiratory infection - but she is healed now and will take her final vows soon. L is also much improved, after her knee implant surgery. 5/29 – Teresa in Fort Worth sent an update and her thanks for all the prayers and words of encouragement. They have sustained her and her family as she continues to battle cancer. She continues to receive good news: her oncologist is quite pleased with her response to the current medication protocol; they are decreasing the lab work frequency to every other week instead of weekly; the side effects from chemo have been barely noticeable; she can just take 4 tiny pills for chemo instead of spending one day a week at the cancer center. It’s been 7 months so far, and she expects that at some point the tumors will start growing again, but for now, they are encouraged. 6/4 – Grumpy and Recalcitrant asked for prayers for his mother (Lynda), asking to give her strength and healing. Also, for the medical staff to be prompted to do a complete and thorough job diagnosing her.

I have a thanksgiving- Mr. S continues to improve each day from his broken arm. Dramatically so, now that he has a clamshell brace instead of a bulky splint.
We've been impressed with all the care he's received, as well
Prayers for his continued healing and for him to be patient with the process would be appreciated.

Update: They've diagnosed my mother with aortic stenosis (if I'm remembering the term correctly.) This is a correctable medical issue using surgery where they go in endoscopically via the leg up to the heart to fix a lower heart valve that's leaking.
Now we wait for a date for surgery.

Those officials in California have allowed people to believe the law is not applicable to them. Furthermore that violent, riotous actions in complete violation of state and federal law are somehow, according to them, magnanimous.
The United States has a legal immigration system. We have entire chapters of federal law dedicated to it. If you are here in violation of US laws and statutes you are subject to removal, no matter who you are. If you commit crimes in our country you are further subject to prison and immediate removal.
These actions are nothing but an attempt to subvert the law by Democrats and their supporters. They are flagrant violations of federal and many state laws, and we should not stand for attacks on our law enforcement officers. Period.

D’s wife Susan has been diagnosed. It is cancer.
Tbodie’s son (mid-30s) was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Please pray for healing and peace for his family.
Teresa in Fort Worth is having some side effects from her cancer meds now. Her fingernails and toenails are starting to loosen and “lift”. It sounds very unpleasant and painful.

Those officials in California have allowed people to believe the law is not applicable to them. Furthermore that violent, riotous actions in complete violation of state and federal law are somehow, according to them, magnanimous.
The United States has a legal immigration system. We have entire chapters of federal law dedicated to it. If you are here in violation of US laws and statutes you are subject to removal, no matter who you are. If you commit crimes in our country you are further subject to prison and immediate removal.
These actions are nothing but an attempt to subvert the law by Democrats and their supporters. They are flagrant violations of federal and many state laws, and we should not stand for attacks on our law enforcement officers. Period.

Yes, she is, thank you. Everyone at Chateau Lloyd seems to be moving forward into a better place. The blessings are too abundant to mention. There are of course obstacles, but these are merely milestones to measure future progress.
As part of that, I'm going to be reducing my time on the Prayer Thread as the yard is getting completely out of hand.

Thank you for the prayers for my wife's church buddy. She was the cause of the huge vehicle accident last week in downtown Gatlinburg. She is okay and home now but one of her passengers, Larry, passed away due to cardiac event triggered by the wreck. Larry's wife, who also was a passenger, was unharmed but is crushed by Larry's passing. The six other injured pedestrians and those in other vehicles could still use our prayers.

They have mislead people to believe in falsehoods. Then they use those falsehoods as a rallying point for illegal and violent responses, enlisting the mislead into advocating for their political beliefs. They use euphemisms like “our community” for a group of people who are here in clear violation of state and federal law. States like California are not sovereign unto themselves. They are part of our country and the republic. We should therefore (and I believe we finally are) let them realize the rest of our country won’t stand for a cancer to be nurtured under their tutelage that will undermine our entire federal system.
This morning, they are intimating that further violent and riotous attacks on federal law enforcement are coming of they continue their attempts to enforce the law. That is encouraging this irresponsible behavior and any further violence or deaths will be on their shoulders.

I think of it as a combination of "low hanging fruit", and a kind of exercise. You're not just going to walk up to a rack and deadlift 1,500 lbs just because you think you're awesome and can totally do it, just like you're not going to process and handle some of the big soul-crushing griefs that we all have to suffer from time to time. It's just setting yourself up for failure to even try. But anyone can start small, get some reps in, build their spiritual muscles, and work their way up to it.

A serial killer that targets street protests, kind of like the ICE raids, BLM riots, etc, using a sniper rifle, with the chaos and confusion of the protests as cover.
It takes the government quite a while to even discover there is a pattern of this happening and become aware of the shooter's existence.
As the story unfolds, there emerges a strange entanglement between the government agencies that are on the one hand trying to stop the killer, but on the other hand are themselves involved in clandestine operations to actually foment the street protests to destroy the country.
The serial killer then becomes somewhat of a moral quandary for the reader. Dark hero? Sociopath? Both?

I suspect that ICE is advising the local cops, who then advise the local politicians, who then mobilize their Antifa (Commie) street thugs. I have lots of them. Future purchases, future home improvements, daily tasks.
One of my little pleasures is checking them off. I learned this from my grandmother, how had five kids and husband working in the upper echelons of the auto industry. She showed me how to organize my life, and lists were a key too.
One thing I do is that if I see something else and fix it, and it wasn't on the list - I add it to the list, and then check it off.
And there is a certain satisfaction to seeing it all filled out and throwing it away. Next!

I wasn't originally arguing theology, my original post was in response to Pope Leo XIV being called "Pope Bob." I find that offensive. I didn't like Pope Francis, but I called him by his Papal name.

Agree, Musk is an engineer, but he is also used to being in a position of being in charge of the very destiny of his own companies and being able to fire, and fire without recourse, any incompetents that are trying to sabotage his directions/decisions in a non-constructive way (which is apparently exactly a perfect description of the sole function of the entire US Congress).
Finding a significant problem, collecting data in support of a solution, and being told "Time to move on!" does not sit well with such people!

That was my first thought but I don't know.
Musk was obviously very frustrated dealing with the pit of despair that is DC and he's not shy about expressing his feelings. Same thing happens here about every 5 minutes.
A lot of the problems are glaringly obvious but DC was built to stop easy solutions. In business Musk can make a problem disappear with a snap of his fingers. Doesn't work like that in DC. I think he was genuinely frustrated and angry that not only was he not hailed as the conquering hero his businesses were targeted for violence and so was he personally.
I like it better when they aren't throwing anvils at each other. Bad guys are over that way.

Thing is, there is of course a difference between unconsecrated host and Eucharist. There may be an adoration chapel with the holy Eucharist but it is attended 24/7 by a half dozen little old ladies, one who may have been a drill instructor in the army and she would put down a world of hurt on you if you tried anything funny.

Find an acupuncturist to help you manage your pain until surgery. It can be really helpful. Some insurance covers it, but you can find a community acupunctur clinic that works on a sliding scale. It could be very worth the 50 bucks a visit !

It could also be that the state-sponsored eucharist manufacturer had a larger supply than current needs required and they had a bright idea on what to do with the surplus, I also considered that it was a way to get a supply into private chapels that would otherwise be under some sort of ban, but that one doesn't seem likely in Germany.

True story, Nuremberg has "The Wall." The old city wall, with rooms built into it, that have been converted to display windows for the town's whores. You can walk down the street, all the girls are in these pretty displays, and you can decide if you want to go inside and rent one for a bit.

I have been taking a mini dose of estrogen for many years now. I do not understand why it is perfectly fine for men to keep getting testosterone but somehow it is okay that we are expected to without the hormone that does so much to keep us healthy. Started with my doctor in MA and my new Dr here in the DMV also is an advocate. Only issue is that it is off label so have been getting it from Canada because it is not covered by insurance .

I don't think he's losing that much. I've heard from several sources that it's around $50 billion. A lot of money in our eyes but he'll still be selling Teslas next year and beyond. It's a good lesson for him about how fickle any government is with it's money.

Unless Musk sold some of his equity while the price cratered, he hasn't realized any losses. Let a few weeks go by, and his share value likely will recover. I wonder if he bought some of his own shares on the dip?

ICE should detain all of these rioters and check citizenship status. How many illegals or visa overstays there? Even green card holders should be tossed out.
And what’s it going to take for Congress to pass a law making it a felony with harsh penalties for interfering with ICE or attacking Federal police?
Those laws are probably already on the books but only get enforced against grannies in MAGA hats who never even set foot inside the Capitol.

I hate the BBB and agreed with Musk’s criticisms and calls for something better. He lost me when he started throwing a temper tantrum and accusing Trump of being a pedo.
Musk has a long history of saying crazy stuff on Twitter that comes back to bite him in the ass.
