Musical Interlude Song is Na Na Na by My Chemical Romance. Anime is Panty and Stocking with Garter Belt. Those are the names of the characters. Since yesterday's song turned out to be blocked in the US and Canada - sorry about that - here's an alternate version. Bob Geldof. The guy behind the Live Aid monstrosity. It's amusing, in a gallows humor way, to find out what happened to all that Aid. Hint, it never got to the starving Africans that needed it. He was told the situation down there by US and UK officials, but he didn't heed any of it. Being a smug idiot does have some drawbacks. The story is out there on the interwebs. Search it out and revel in the horrible absurdity of it all. I think Mark Steyn wrote an article about it.

We're due for some storms late this am, like between six and seven. My only concern is if we lose power; the A/C is life support on a planet with an atmosphere that will slowly kill you.

Regarding Mexico. Decades ago, there was a story that bus drivers in Mexico City were instructed to back their bus over any pedestrian they hit with their bus, to ensure they were dead. A one-time death payment was less money than long-term disability payments to an injured pedestrian. Maybe they hoped that rolling the ancient pensioner to the bank would kill her. By maybe, I mean definitely. They flood over the border with the same view of the world. Posted by: Semi-Literate Thug at May 27, 2025 06:01 AM (CzfKa) 44

@42/FenelonSpoke:
FenSpouse is correct, it was the previous driver's responsibility to TRY to get the route sheets corrected. However, this involves: 1. Informing Dispatch (in writing) of the problem and the desired correction, including justification for same. 2. Dispatch personnel decide if that change is necessary. If so then: 3. Dispatch sends on the request to the affected school board who also make the same decision. If at (2) or (3) they don't feel your change is necessary enough to put the effort in to change the route, you just don't get notified that you need to pick up updated route sheets. Nothing happens. So, as the driver, you mentally update the route yourself, and make changes, that any other driver that runs your route will never know about. Just giving the previous driver some leeway here because the process is highly imperfect, and our drivers tend to be good people who try to do the right thing. Sometimes they get lucky, everything aligns right, and the forces of order win the day. There's a lot of chaos out there though, and it laughs at us at every opportunity.
