Rep. James Comer: We Know Who Was Running Biden's Autopen
President Donald Trump and top House Republicans are ramping up a sweeping investigation into former President Joe Biden's use of a mechanical signature device known as the autopen, raising questions about the legitimacy of executive actions taken during Biden's presidency -- especially a wave of last-minute pardons signed with the device. The investigation, led by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), gained traction after the Washington Examiner first reported on Friday about Comer's plans for the committee to investigate whether Biden personally authorized all of his clemency orders and executive actions or whether his aides, acting on his behalf, used the autopen without valid authority. At the center of the controversy are Republican claims that Biden lacked the cognitive ability to carry out key decisions and that unelected aides may have orchestrated policy behind the scenes. The Justice Department, now under Trump's control, has also pledged internal reviews of Biden-era pardons under newly appointed Pardon Attorney Ed Martin. A staffer familiar with Martin's plans told the Washington Examiner that Martin "looks forward to being in a position to facilitate congressional inquiries from inside the building and to cooperate with those inquiries, because they're all on the same team." Comer has made the autopen investigation a new front in the broader Republican effort to investigate Biden's fitness and decision-making while in office. In a statement after his closed-door announcement of the investigation at the annual Republican National Lawyers Association event, Comer said his panel would commence its investigation into "the cover-up of President Biden's mental decline and use of autopen," even teasing that he believes he knows which former Biden staffer operated the device. Comer said he plans to subpoena former Biden aides Annie Tomasini, Anthony Bernal, and Ashley Williams, who he says "ran interference" for the president and may have coordinated the use of the autopen. "Now that Biden's top enablers can no longer hide behind the power of the presidency, we're continuing our investigation to expose the truth," Comer said. Although Comer has named three former aides to Biden, Kyle Brosnan, chief counsel for the Oversight Project, formerly part of the Heritage Foundation, said House Republicans should consider additional names to subpoena, including those who received the blanket pardons from Biden just before he left office. "I would hope and expect that the people that received those preemptive pardons are on the deposition list," Brosnan told the Washington Examiner. "They're certainly eligible to be deposed in this situation, and they cannot assert the Fifth Amendment for these pardons either." Republicans have pointed to Biden's final-week pardons and clemency grants as a focal point for legal scrutiny. Among the figures who received preemptive clemency were former COVID-19 adviser Anthony Fauci, former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, and members of the House Jan. 6 committee. Several of the pardons were signed between Jan. 16 and Jan. 19, just days before Trump's inauguration. According to public filings and internal memoranda obtained by congressional investigators, a significant number of clemency warrants were executed using batch-format autopen signatures, raising questions about whether Biden was directly involved in the process.

I have very low hopes for anything coming of this since all it needs is for Biden to have said he delegated.

Back when we signed reports at work, in triplicate, preparer/checker/approver, it could take a whole day. Analysis reports with hundreds of pages of computer output to substantiate where the summary tables and charted data came from. Some appendices alone were over a thousand pages long. You just brought the pages to big table somewhere and got to it. Now everything is done with electronic signatures. pussies

I have very low hopes for anything coming of this since all it needs is for Biden to have said he delegated.
With a progressing disease (and death looming,) it will be impossible to establish what the President knew he was doing and when he knew it.
No court would second guess his competency at some point in the past.

With a budget bill in place for the 25/26 fiscal year, Congress can actually pass rescission bills that make Trump's EO spending cuts permanent.
Opposing this budget bill isn't the perfect being the enemy of the good. It's the impossible being the enemy of any kind of improvement at all.

You don't pass one budget. You pass one for each department.
Start with the ones with general support like the VA or Treasury.
Then when you get to something like HUD at the end of the process you offer them 50% of the current budget. Then they can either vote for 50% or get 0% when congress goes home.
The reason the GOP doesn't do this is that it does not want ANY spending cuts.

You don't pass one budget. You pass one for each department.
Start with the ones with general support like the VA or Treasury.
Then when you get to something like HUD at the end of the process you offer them 50% of the current budget. Then they can either vote for 50% or get 0% when congress goes home.
The reason the GOP doesn't do this is that it does not want ANY spending cuts.

Indy has a new AAA video game out that was well received.

Indiana Jones? Even Dr Who is still on the air. What does IJ have? There was talk of a new, woke, female-led movie or series, but that fizzled out as more and more woke projects bombed hard. It's got to be the deadest at the moment, certainly, although it may see a renewal/reboot attempt sooner than Dr. Who, at least one any significant scale.

Yeah there are a type willing to do anything it takes to succeed and those who have a line they won't cross. The big time CEOs, politicians, actors, etc, they'll do whatever it takes. Any sacrifice, any deed. You cannot get to the top of anything without that kind of drive.

It's not whether we think Trump is wrong or not but rather we elected him to make these decisions.
And the decisions are not a one correct answer issue. It's not that Trump has declared
1+ 1 = 3 . Lot of people thought he was entirely wrong on the Tariffs. Still an open question but not the catastrophe predicted by the naysayers.

Getting it into a DC court could be an issue because they are obviously corrupt as hell but there is no doubt that the president or any government official taking an official act for a bribe is illegal.

In my Ozu kick, I went as far as identifying the streets and cities where scenes were shot. Which is a real treat using Google Maps.
I even figured out where the ski mountain he visited was in one of his old silent films. It was a mountain I too had visited years ago and it was wild seeing it before it was developed.
