I have a friend (Australian) who used to go to S. Africa to sell them activated carbon used in gold mining. He described how he couldn't get from his cab to the hotel without being harassed by beggars and prostitutes.
And this was 20 years ago.
My younger sister went on a church mission trip to S. Africa last year. It was nice and all, but she was way out in the country.

Nigeria and Kenya are doing pretty well, in large part because they adopted Western values of education, (relatively) free societies, and allowed in a lot of western money and development. They have a Muslim problem (who doesn’t?), but they’re relatively free from the endless tribal warfare that tears apart most other African countries.

Europe and Asia, have some level of cultural consistency because for hundreds of years they had war and governments forcing people to follow whatever culture the rulers wanted.
So to "fix" Africa from the outside we would need "the international community" to let Africans have war and lots of it.
Or...to let Africa fragment into tribal sized political units since that is where most people's actual allegiance lies.

Been quite a few times. Joburg was fairly modern and parts were ok. Pretoria was very nice. Capetown was great. Durban was a dump.

IIRC there are three main tribes so I suspect you'd get years of war and likely then each one ruling part of the current country.
It would be brutal and horrible but at the end you'd have some notion of a stable region where the people felt allegiance to their nominal country.

I hate hate hate what the press - and especially the financial press - has done to Elon. A case in point is the interview Mishal Husain from Bloomberg had with Elon yesterday. She gloats over the damage terrorists did to his business, and gloats even more that he said he was cutting his political donations in the short term (even though he's free to change his mind on that). At the same time, the 'News' part of the network reports with glee about our deficits going up and the bond vigilantes not liking that, while at the same time reporting with glee over the 'underperformance' of DOGE. Husain mentions that in her interview with Musk, and he lets her have it.
These people want Telsa to fail, DOGE to fail, the US gov't to fail and for Trump to fail - all at the same time. And they exacerbated this whole thing as well. I simply can't hate the MFM enough.

Sure, everyone knew about the holocaust. But bombing the camps wasn't a solution either, that wouldn't have halted operations as they were using bullets all over the rest of the Reich. The army was reluctant to divert efforts to raids or anything, better to just finish the war.
I've never heard a practical complaint that made sense. The unwillingness to accept refugees pre war perhaps, but most didn't leave their homes.

I've never heard a practical complaint that made sense. The unwillingness to accept refugees pre war perhaps, but most didn't leave their homes.

13 Farmers have been verified as being murdered but you have to keep in mind that SoAf is a very high crime state and so this is not out of line with their nationwide murder rate.
No fill in the blanks as to whether their family was murdered along with them. No admission that these murders took place in rural areas which are less prone to crime than urban areas, world wide.
Yeah they tried to whitewash it as best they could. It's good enough for the fucking sheep that still watch.
