Nancy Mace has got to be the most pathologically attention-seeking women to have ever lived.

nancymacevideopromotion.jpg

James Comey says that his message to "86" Trump was completely innocent and he is being investigated for, as he puts it, "walking on the beach with my wife."

86 James Comey. I also have never, ever heard that to 86 someone is to take them out violently, so my statement is also innocent.

"Dank Brandon" has a message about his recent diagnosis.

DOJ to investigate woke DEI Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson for admitting he makes the city hire people based on their race.

The Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division has launched an investigation into the employment practices of the city of Chicago after Mayor Brandon Johnson made comments on Sunday suggesting that he has "made hiring decisions solely on the basis of race."

Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon wrote in a letter to Johnson that the probe was opened to investigate potential violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

"Our investigation is based on information suggesting that you have made hiring decisions solely on the basis of race. In your remarks made yesterday at the Apostolic Church of God in Woodlawn, you 'highlight[ed] the number of Black officials in [your] administration,'" the letter stated, noting that Johnson highlighted multiple high-ranking positions that were held by black men and women.

"You then said that you were 'laying' these positions 'out' to 'ensure that our people get a chance to grow their business,'" Dhillon continued. "Considering these remarks, I have authorized an investigation to determine whether the City of Chicago is engaged in a pattern or practice of discrimination as set forth above. If these kind of hiring decisions are being made for top-level positions in your administration, then it begs the question whether such decisions are also being made for lower-level positions."

Because I have age-related cognitive decline, I forgot to link this earlier:

Tapper's critics have frequently highlighted his Lara Trump interview, but a review of the record clearly shows the CNN host repeatedly promoted Democratic talking points on the air, and aggressively bullied those who questioned the official narrative. One month prior to his confrontation with Lara Trump, Tapper interviewed H.R. McMastter, the national security adviser Trump fired, and implied that Republicans questioning Biden's mental acuity were promoting Russian disinformation. "What do you make of the fact that so many of the criticisms that you're talking about, the Russians are trying to do to make us and the public not trust in our election integrity, the election is rigged, Joe Biden has dementia, and all this stuff, is stuff that we're hearing repeated by leaders, by American political leaders?" the CNN host asked, channeling the Democratic Party's bizarre conspiracies about Vladimir Putin as an all-powerful puppet master.

Hakeem Jeffries insists that all discussion of the Biden Dementia Cover-Up must stop now, and also declares that anyone saying that Biden's had cancer for years -- like most oncologists -- is a "conspiracy theorist."

Western Lensman
@WesternLensman

Hakeem Jeffries wants talk of the Biden cognitive coverup shut down.

Says it's "entirely inappropriate" for Republicans to discuss such "conspiracy theories" after the cancer diagnosis.

"Republicans want to look backward...Democrats are going to look forward."

There it is.

Video here.

Hakeem Jeffries also says that fat black Democrat women should be allowed to hit cops with impunity.

"The proceeding initiated by the so-called U.S. Attorney in New Jersey is a blatant attempt by the Trump administration to intimidate Congress and interfere with our ability to serve as a check and balance on an out-of-control executive branch," House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and other Democratic leaders said in a statement Monday night. "House Democrats will not be intimidated by the Trump administration. Not today. Not ever."

This BLAWFL is on videotape repeatedly striking cops.

I'll be fine, if after a thorough investigation, where agents come and storm his home, with guns out, rifling through all his belongings, including his wife's underwear drawer, and if they find nothing to suggest he is trying to encourage an assassination attempt on the President of the United States, then we can let him get back to walking on the beach, scaring children.

Has she ever said that she was physically attacked? She says that she, and others, were raped and it's all on tape. That should make a conviction easy. Or is she saying that taping them without their consent is, itself, the rape? Because proving that they didn't consent to the video is gonna end up being a he said/she said kind of thing.

89 I am wondering if Jackson's dissent today is going to be self-own.

Consider that much of the oral argument the other day on the injunction issue was whiny "but we have to be able to do something in an emergency!"

And then this being the 3rd (4th?) emergency order in like the last 3 weeks.

And here she is now, suddenly, disingenuously yelling that every thing can't be an emergency or there is no such thing as an emergency.

And so maybe ACB may realize that all these "emergencies" are political and not actual.

That the only way to craft a rule that doesn't have every political dispute brought up as an emergency appeal is to ... force the lower courts to follow the rules. Or until Congress changes the rules.

IDK, that's probably asking too much thinking from her.

You can't. I had a buddy that wanted to leave his girlfriend but she didn't want it to end. Every time he tried to leave her she called the cops and told them he was abusing her. He would get cuffed and stuffed, wind up in jail and be booked and she would drop the charges the next day.

He finally called them and told them that he was going to pack up his stuff and leave and he wanted them to be at the apartment. Sure as $hit the minute he started packing up his stuff and said he was leaving she accused him of hitting her. The cop outside said nope, ain't happening this time and stood in the house until he was packed up and gone. They gave him a restraining order after that.

Crazy is as crazy does.

1) Impeachment
2) convince him to resign
3) Butler PA

Say now someone makes $50k and pays $10k taxes. They take a pay cut to $45k but paid in tax free “tips”. They end up $5k better off as does the employer. Win win for everyone.

155 Chicago’s mayor acknowledging he has hired Black people who have historically been sidelined is not a civil rights violation.

I live in Cook County and many people myself included think Brandon Johnson is a terrible mayor. He has a really bad approval rating. However, this DEI investigation by Trump is just stupid.

On the other hand, I feel that Pritzker is a pretty good Governor.

According to NPR, the DOJ's Civil Rights Division is losing 70% of its lawyers. Good luck trying that case with the remaining bottom of the barrel lawyers.

There are spies everywhere. The mayor and governor Pritzker’s have to know that they are being followed and monitored. How else do you explain this?

I rate the Fed’s chances of changing the city admin to be about minus infinity. We finally have an admin that is representative of the population. If hiring is frozen it will stay that way.

This story is less about political persecution than it is one of an incompetent, hopefully single-term mayor doing & saying ham-handed, stupid shit on a near-daily basis and as a result serving some rage bait up for MAGA on a silver platter.

Retractable or removable? Retractable convenient since you can just drop the top whenever you want to instead of having to decide before you leave home but it's a complex bit of mechanics and if when it breaks, it will cost more then the car's worth to fix.

They might like to but the employer would be in jail for violating state and federal law and the IRS would be up their rear end. You can get away with that on a landscaping work site, or something under the table, but nobody is paying taxes on that to begin with.

No, what they might try is to pay people bare minimum wage, then "tip" the rest of their wages from the payment by customers to make up for competing pay. Because tips are not taxable, the employer doesn't need to pay taxes on it either, greatly reducing their personnel costs. That kind of thing I could see happening.

It's not really copyright law.

It's rights to your own image.

This is to protect anybody anywhere from invasion of privacy, or the use of their own image in ways they do not approve.

Imagine if somebody takes your picture and uses it in ad campaign, without your consent, where you are portrayed as some kind of murderer or rapist or something otherwise unsavory.

Wouldn't you like to be able to prevent somebody from using your image in a disgusting way, portraying you negatively, and making money off of it at the same time?

That's why everybody has the same rights to the image of their own face for commercial use.

That's why Model Releases exist.

Copyright only has to do with who took the picture/video and therefore owns the picture/video when it comes to selling it.

If you work on a newspaper, and the editor says kill the story, he's not saying to murder someone or something.

If you are the head of (or former head of) the FBI, an agency that has the legal right to kill pretty much whoever it wants, that's a different matter.

We used to have much more robust defamation laws, which prohibited publishing this sort of thing. Obscenity laws were also more rigorously enforced, so even trying to circulate a nude could get you busted by the vice squad.

Revenge porn statutes are attempts to re-create the tort of damaging someone's reputation.

Classical free speech always included a prohibition on trashing someone's reputation just for fun. We need to get back to that.

Those releases are only for people who are selling those pictures for money and the model is getting paid. The model is giving their permission for the person taking the pictures to sell them. They have nothing to do with privacy issues.

Which, again, if you take your clothes off for your boyfriend, and then you cheat on him with his best friend, and he posts the pics online, you wouldn't be able to prove he's doing anything intentionally dishonest, and I find it hard to believe you can prove he's doing it to hurt you. Yes, it pays to read the fine print.

The larger point is that leaking a lover's nudes are not just a function of social media but abuse of the carveout that gave internet sites immunity (was it 230? I forget) that has been bent completely out of shape.

Now that NIL is more of a thing, one might start filing lawsuits demanding compensation since resulting clicks produce revenue and therefore go to the subject.

301 Once you take off your clothes and pose naked for your significant other it's a completely different situation. I don't agree with it but the law is settled on this issue.

Again, did Mace pose or was she unknowingly taped on a security camera in the boyfriend's home and then still photos produced.
If that's the case and other women had the same experience, it should be explained that way.

Posted by: old chick at May 20, 2025 07:04 PM

And that is exactly what we do not and most likely will never know. She claims he took the pictures without her permission and he claims they both agreed to take the pictures. The only thing they both agree on is that the pictures exist.

In honor of racing season, Oscar Mayer is throwing their hat in the game on Carb Day, Friday, May, 23, with the inaugural "Wienie 500."

The famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles will compete in a race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the first time ever.

The Wienie 500 will mark the first “meat-up” of all six Wienermobiles in over a decade, officials said.

According to IMS, each Wienermobile will represent a different regional dog, including the Chi Dog (Midwest), New York Dog (East), Slaw Dog (Southeast), Sonoran Dog (Southwest), Chili Dog (South) and Seattle Dog (Northwest).

They should really include weiner dog races, too. Drag races with the little dudes. Too awesome.

Living in Madison near the Oscar Meyer plant, we saw the Weinermobile probably more than we should have. Still have weinermobile whistles around here somewhere. The boy was delighted.

I guess that's for the law to sort out. I would think the line can be... and should be, did you give permission.

I still don't know that a privacy violation should be a crime, but Mace's bill will make it a crime for anyone to post anything without the express permission of the subject of the photo.

Which is nonsense. And unenforceable, and I believe, unconstitutional.

Ah for the days when you could just burn the negatives.

I'm not versed on the line between private vs public use, but in commercial/business work, a release is SOP even if there is no nudity.

BTW, note the massive lawsuit filed against the University of Michigan for one of its employees accessing intimate photos that were *never released.*

And the employee is up for a dozen federal felonies.
