um... if the FBI was involved with or even covered up the murder of Epstein, do you think it would be documented in an FBI file? All that Patel knows is that the files were clean.

How could they possibly know this to that degree of certainty? Even if you think he did kill himself (I don't), you have to admit there are a lot of weird circumstances and unanswered questions surrounding his death.
I mean, if they were gonna kill him and stage a suicide, how would they have done it any differently? Cameras were turned off or mysteriously didn't work. Hi Ace
I really don't understand the obsession with Epstein. Yes he was a pedophile and yes there are probably others who were blackmailed but there are so many other issues that involve the health of the country. I am more interested in the J6 conspiracy. The coverup of Biden,s senility. Who was running the country for the last 4 years? Who was getting the giant kickbacks from USAId? Who paid for the rigging of the 2020 election? Epstein is just not important to the survival of our Republic. Posted by: Sharon(willow's apprentice) at May 19, 2025 12:20 PM (t/2Uw) 30

To believe Epstein killed himself you have to believe:
1) The governments that were coordinating with him were going to let him face trial and plea bargains after telling people (like Acosta) to leave Epstein alone or else 2) The night Epstein killed himself it was just a coincidence that the guards were not paying attention and the cameras failed 3) Epstein then hung himself in a way almost impossible for an individual to do without anyone telling him how to do it or helping him Posted by: 18-1 at May 19, 2025 12:21 PM (t0Rmr) 34

Saw Kraven the Hunter last night. While it’s not the total train wreck the critics claim, it was still ungood.
The most surprising thing about the movie was how it ever got made. How did Sony think this movie had any chance of making money? It’s a relentlessly bleak, depressing mess where everyone is miserable. There’s literally not one single second of comedy, humor, or any reprieve from the misery. There are no likeable characters to root for. Kraven is some kind of mash-up of Tarzan and Spider-man (Spizan?) who is supposed to be some kind of hero, but he’s basically a psychotic who brutally murders people because … he has daddy issues? The lesbian black girl is in the movie because reasons. Who is the “Foreigner” and why is he in the movie? The only somewhat interesting character is the Hulk … err, the Rhino. And he’s the bad guy. Afternoon Ace.
What are the options for Epstein's death? 1) he killed himself to avoid spending life in prison or to avoid being killed 2) he was murdered by people who wanted to keep secrets. 3) he's not dead. In order for him to be murdered or not dead a lot of people would have to be involved including the guards and the assassins and other prison staff. In order for him to kill himself he hung himself, a difficult way I'll concede and just need the guards to be incompetent and the cameras to be out. While it is a lot of coincidences , it is NYC and a poorly run and staffed facility, so not impossible. The fact that there was a conspiracy does NOT prove that it was not suicide. Saul Montes Bradley has been arguing all along that it was suicide with a conspiracy of facilitators.
Suicide because the guy's life was over. He was never going to get out of jail, never get to walk around his mansion or his private island, and never screw another little girl. What was the point of living on as a miserable joke? As for the non-functional cameras, sleeping guards, and transferred cellmate, a man who seriously wants to kill himself does not want to be interrupted in the act, and have to live on in a strait jacket, or maybe brain-damaged. He wants to get the job done. If he's rich, he can have his friends on the outside distribute enough bribes to make sure the cellmate is transferred, the cameras are conveniently not working, and the guards are pretending to be asleep. Montes Bradley hasn't proved it was suicide, but he has shown that suicide is a perfectly plausible hypothesis, maybe evan a likely one. Nor am I aware of proof that he could have done it like he did. This is an open question to me. But just the fact that the manner of suicide is an open question raises red flags to me.

At my son's baseball game yesterday, the dad next to me, who I don't know much but is a nice guy and avid sports dad, starts grumbling at something on his phone. He's a doctor (but more of a research guy than MD I think), and he tells me a colleague of his lost some grants through Harvard because of Trump. I think he wanted me to sympathize and probably assumed, since we are both Jewish, that I'm liberal. I wanted to tell him that maybe Harvard should stop practicing racism and get its anti-Semites in line, but I didn't want to turn a kids game into a political debate. Maybe it's because I am in Massachusetts and people assume they are on safe ground grumbling about Trump. In Texas, on the sidelines, do people curse Biden under their breath and assume others agree, or do they keep their mouths shut and not let politics intrude? Well, Epstein is as dead as a doornail, but his - legacy - lives on. The tapes, the testimonies, the photos, the travel logs, the forensic evidence, the trial hearings, and the victims. Nothing remaining from Epstein's life will bring him back, but his legacy, properly employed, might make things better for the American people. For instance: The passage of a Big Beautiful Bill, trillion dollar investments in the US by foreign potentates, favorable trade agreements with foreign countries, the acquisition of provinces in foreign lands, and the efforts of US citizens eager to mend ties with the Administration. Did Jeffrey Epstein kill himself? God knows, and has judged him beyond our poor power to comprehend. And as for Esptein's "clients"? They're in for the same treatment. One thing's for sure. Actually overall Canada, a small nation comparatively, was a notable over-performer in the war, accomplishing some of the nastiest tasks (including clearing the Scheldt estuary, key to opening up Antwerp for cargo).
The whole Anglosphere was like that, of course. Australia and New Zealand with generally epic and outsized performances. In a recent article about the success of President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador, Javier Sanchez Glez points out that Bukele's succcess is in how he creates and controls the narrative.
His personal narrative is built around personal image - a "look", clear enemies like gangs, traditional parties, critical NGOs, and emotional messaging that appeal to political and social abandonment, struggle, redemption. And messaging in cinema-quality videos. The political messaging is on fear of crime, hope for order, pride of country and culture, rage against the elite and gratitude. These are pretty normal tactics in politics, but Pres. Bukele is one of the notables in Latin America, and in selling his message he resets the narrative of what is possible. ************ In my personal view, Bukele, has succeeded in the way that President Milei and to a smaller extent Santiago Peña has succeeded in building a "story of success" through hope, imaging, and honesty, but also through accomplishing something. These are all things that any politician tries to do, but other leaders in South America seem to speak a good game, then spend their time stuffing money in their buddies pockets Posted by: Kindltot at May 19, 2025 12:55 PM (D7oie) 246

Thought the only change to Oh Canada! was replacing "thy sons" with "all of us"? Still one of the most beautiful anthems.
Think it was in Montreal at the few games I got to where the singer changed from English to French half-way through. I know this requires outrage and disdain, given the central Balkan-level crazy antipathy between the language groups in Canada, but I liked it. Penalty announcements in French could be amusing. To believe Epstein killed himself you have to believe: ... 2) The night Epstein killed himself it was just a coincidence that the guards were not paying attention and the cameras failed ============= I was reading an exercise in writing credible plots for movies, and the teacher had this example where this incredibly wealthy and well-protected woman is in bed at night, and something inexplicably goes wrong with the physical security perimeter at her estate so he jumps the fence... then once inside, something else inexplicably goes wrong with interior security and he manages to get through a couple of doorways and traverse many hallways, then something else inexplicably goes wrong and he gets right into her bedroom. OF COURSE this would never happen in real life. Except that it happened, to Queen Elizabeth in 1982. So, wildly implausible things do happen. I've been staying off the computer for awhile, thought I'd check in and see...this. Maybe the perspective of a guy with three (well, we won't count the last one) attempts might be informative.
It is sometimes BUT NOT ALWAYS an irrational act. With mine, my mind was very clear - the pain of living outweighed anything else. Only the last time was it more or less spontaneous. The previous times I hoarded pills. I researched hanging myself from the handicapped bar in the men's room. I have no doubt that had I succeeded, my family would be searching for reason out of chaos. Trying to find patterns. Blaming themselves. Looking for answers to unanswerable questions. And so on. I think the social taboo about suicide informs a lot of the reaction. "No one of sound mind would kill himself, so he must have had help." That isn't true. Sorry for the sidebar. Posted by: WitchDoktor at May 19, 2025 01:03 PM (nPDKO) 280

My wife's adult son did it five years ago and she is now a husk of the woman she was prior. I don't know if he would have done it had he known what it would do to the few people who really cared about him. He said he was doing the "world" a favor but he essentially took his mom with him. Didn't do her any favors, I see it every day in her eyes. She was here one day, gone the next. I know that's a lot of responsibility to shoulder and it's not fair in the least, but I guess that's the really shitty part - in carrying it out you are brutalizing the ONLY people who actually give a fuck about you. The person he thought he was hurting - the one he wanted approval from and never got - has moved on, and only cares about how the event (which took place on father's day) made him look. I get that no one understands what it's like to "be there" and that in those cases nothing anyone says will or would actually help, but I would be remiss if I didn't talk about it to you here and now. 1) how often do the guards sleep on duty? 2) for how long had the cameras been inoperative? It's great to know that the same people suspected in Maxwell's death are the same people who didn't find any evidence of foul play. Posted by: JackStraw at May 19, 2025 01:18 PM (viF8m) 326
Still waiting on Epstein's client list, btw. Show me that and I might buy their take on Epstein's prison cell suicide.
Again, that's the key. Nobody was saying "Epstein didn't kill himself" because we were all concerned he was murdered. We were using it to keep pressure on the powers that be, to maintain cultural awareness. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at May 19, 2025 01:18 PM (2VST1) 327
Did Epstein have *any* acknowledged *investors*?

hah, and I seem to remember my second grade teacher (with touching sympathy) said the same thing to my mother at a school conference.

meaning they can all be deported now, correct?
Right, any illegal can be deported still, Trump just cannot use the old war enemies bill to expedite the process. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at May 19, 2025 01:19 PM (2VST1) 330
I keep getting Robert Maxwell mixed up in my mind with Rupert Murdoch.

@300 exactly. It's a different group of people. These were people given temporary protected status which was going to end anyway as Biden hadn't renewed it. Trump was just following up when the lower court crapped the bed

Yes. Les Wexner, owner of Victoria Secrets and other companies. He gave Epstein the NY mansion among other things. Posted by: JackStraw at May 19, 2025 01:23 PM (viF8m) 333

Someone mentioned Frankie Five Angels from Godfather II, but in Mean Streets (which came out a year earlier) there was a similar scenario. A restauranter ran off with "protection money". In the end, he apologized to his elderly mother before he blew his brains out in the bathroom. The implication is that he was discovered by his creditor and given two options - with suicide being the nicer one!

The choices were between:
1) The Deep State killed him 2) The govt faked his death, in exchange for his cooperation These two insisting that he killed himself (which is not one of the choices) tells us that it's #2. As supporting evidence, I point out that neither offered any detailed explanation as to why they supposedly think he killed himself. That includes Bongino, who has made a VERY good living recently being extremely animated and verbose. They're telling us this because it's their job to tell us this.
