I use old milk jugs and pop bottles to fill up with gas at the gas station near me. The look on the old bitter faced Karens with their "coexist" bumper sticker while I do so is worth the risk. Plus the store owner, Leak Pamamdawntra, says that is how they do it back in his home country of Bangladesh.

This is where We The People who may own cars with the Idle/Stop butt-phuquery operating as default can spam the crap out of dealers and manufacturers so on their next OTA firmware updates to their supported products, they can disable them.
Make the argument that the manufacturers can save money on replacing starters for those 10year/100k mile drivetrain warranties. Can't be good for the cooling system, turbo chargers or air-con either with all of that random abrupt starting and stopping during hot weather.
I don't know how we can pressure them on the wear-n-tear items like batteries that are quickly trashed because of the constant starting and stopping.

This is part of the reason I'm hanging onto my ancient beater, which has low mileage and still runs well. I don't want some faceless drone somewhere to be messing remotely with my car, and in an unknown fashion. I figure it cannot possibly be in my interest for them to do this.
I also don't need all the doo-dads and crap built into cars nowadays. I just use it for transportation, not entertainment.
Plus, get off my lawn.

Back in seminary school I took a class in transportation engineering (road design). It's the fricken accounting of engineering... In theory to justify construction costs there must be a net savings to the gas tax funding the project.
Idle time at traffic lights is the principle 'cost', then wear on the vehicle, etc. etc. Most of the shit being done the last twenty years directly violates basic principles. Any experience with 'traffic calming' would tell you that and it's always the politicians pushing shit regardless of the economics.

Independent mechanics I know prefer the old stuff to the new whiz bang models even aside from the issue in obtaining the actual error codes from mfgs. on new cars. Those whiz bang models often turn independent mechanics into parts changers where they put a chinesium or mexican replacement part that fails in short order. Especially electronics and electrical parts.
Part of it is the insane stupidity of the EU banning lead solder which requires using tin solder. So parts mfg make ALL parts more or less using tin solder.
Tin solder over time develops whiskers that end up shorting out the components in many cases. Same problem with current consumer electronics as well.

Those whiz bang models often turn independent mechanics into parts changers where they put a chinesium or mexican replacement part that fails in short order. Especially electronics and electrical parts.
Part of it is the insane stupidity of the EU banning lead solder which requires using tin solder. So parts mfg make ALL parts more or less using tin solder.
Tin solder over time develops whiskers that end up shorting out the components in many cases. Same problem with current consumer electronics as well.

I works just fine. It takes an up-rated battery and starter but hasn't missed once in 3 years. The LE3 is direct injection. I assume it knows which cylinder is next past TDC power stroke and fuels/fires it.
I just wish there was an easy Don't Stop this time button on the back of the steering wheel for when I know I'll immediately be starting again. Pulling it into Manual works but isn't convenient.

There is no single greater demonstration of the stupidity of government regulation than the idiotic 'no-spill' gas can.
It's something that by its very nature, not only doesn't accomplish its alleged purpose, it actively makes worse the 'problem' that it was supposed to solve.

Some orchard guys I know say they use a gallon pump sprayer of the sort you buy to spot spray your yard and thickets to carry saw gas out to the orchards. It is convenient to get the gas into the chainsaw, and if the guys leave it at the end of a row near the road no one is going to steal it.
I did get warned to get the brand that uses Buna gaskets since cheaper ones will swell with gasoline.

Consider the regular trigger may require 5 lbs.
The bolt is slamming it back with say 20 lbs plus.
Hold the trigger with a constant 5 lbs of force and the gun will continue to cycle as long as you hold the 5 lbs.
Kind of like a 'bump-stock' but more refined.
Either still require one trigger pull per shot. But how you do the trigger pull is changed.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. That's 3 of my years after 2 of Hertz's. Batteries are a wear item. Regular are good for 4 years or 4-5 complete drains before they die, often abruptly. The bigger AGM battery went 5+ and was still at 85% when I changed it.

I will admit, the bugaboo about automatic fire is kind of baffling to me. Which would you prefer: an amateur shooting at you from 300 yards with a full auto or a trained sharpshooter with a semi auto hunting rifle hiding in some trees at the same distance?

I stopped buying gas powered tools, and using only battery operated stuff, almost entirely so I don't have to use those stupid gay gas cans.
Never carry one on a road trip though. I know how to do math, when it comes to figuring out when to stop at a gas station.

Hurricane season coming up so I have to refresh the stock.

We store gas, diesel and kerosene here. I've retrofitted every container with a normal spout. They have a small, threaded cap for the end of the nozzle.
But, yea... when it's hot outside you smell the diesel and gas. The kerosene is odorless.

You're limiting factor will be the typical 1/2" line to the shower mixing valve to the shower head.
Just take off the shower head - that be all you can get unless you repipe back to the service entrance (or well pump).

My ex husband was on presidential detail with them very early in his career, he was a medic. He said she was just an outright wench, but he used another term. She wouldn’t acknowledge them. He said Bill was really friendly and appreciative, he almost went overboard to make up for Hillary’s ugliness.

In 2019 I could have bought a 2017 Buick LaCrosse, a year newer with more hp. But it had auto start-stop (aka ASS) -- and you couldn't turn it off. Apparently there was a $150 gadget you could buy on Amazon to plug into your OBDII port and turn the system off.
My 2016 Buick does not have it, and I'm very pleased.
I will say the system as implemented in my '15 BMW 3 Series was seamless. You could turn it off, and it remembered your choice, so you didn't have to keep turning it off. I drove the BMW with it in traffic a few times, just to see, and it was not that annoying. But then I turned it off and kept it that way.
My 2016 Buick does not have it, and I'm very pleased.

It's essentially a different game. Various shitheads like to show baseball players struggling to hit a softball pitcher, but the pitch trajectory is totally different. There's a reason why hitters take a lot of batting practice, and it's to learn and keep sharp the ability to judge the trajectory and to anticipate where the ball will end up when they're swinging. (It's not possible to track the ball the last 15 feet or so, because the eyes can't slew that fast - something like 6000 degrees per second.)
I note that they never show a softball batter facing a baseball pitcher. Grrrll power, after all.

I played catcher from Little League up to college. That was the best education on how to be a better hitter.
High School friend got a summer job working the scoreboard on the Green Monster at Fenway. He got me access to a couple practice and bullpen sessions. The movement pros can put on a pitch is crazy. I probably couldn't have that stuff with a tennis racquet.

Movement - especially late movement - is the key. I've read several books on the physics of baseball (which is where I got the slewing speed of the eyes from). Late movement means the hitter has to guess from the speed, trajectory, and spin on the ball where it will end when he is trying to hit it, and all of that in a fraction of a second.

I had that as a southpaw pitcher. Even warming up with guys they used to complain that everything I threw moved like crazy (also down and away from RH batters) because I threw from a low three-quarter slot.
In the outfield I was careful to throw everything four-seam over the top to minimize the movement.

Driving around the other day I came across a real 5 gallon gas jug lying in the road, complete with that old gas-tarnished "clear" spout. Did my best Rockford J-turn and tossed that in the back before the lawn company truck from which it must have bounced came back looking for it.

HONEY DILL SAUCE ... Grandkids spent the weekend with us and, while gearing up foodwise, I tried making a new (to me) dipping sauce for chicken nuggets ... Apparently, it's quite popular in Manitoba, Canana ... Was sure there were lots of recipes online, but decided to create a quick version (having many other tasks to accomplish.
Anyway, I blended together a half cup of mayo, a tablespoon of honey, a teaspoon of dried dill, and a quarter teaspoon of garlic powder ... The grandkids politely said "No thanks, Mom-Mom"; so I plan to spread the leftovers onto tortilla wraps this week before adding deli turkey lunchmeat ... I may make another small batch, thin it out some with vegetable oil, place it in a squeeze bottle, and set it out with other condiments this weekend for folks to try on their burgers.
