Jake Tapper's Publisher Puts Together a Compliation Purporting to Show that Tapper Reported on Biden's Dementia. Mark Halperin Looks at the Clips In Context and Finds It's a Lie.
Jake Tapper's defense against bias is always the same: "I asked a question."
But not all questions are the same, of course.
On the one hand, there is a Tim Russert-style interrogation where he rejects your first rehearsed answer and presents evidence to you that prove that answer is false.
And then there is the "friendly inoculation" style of asking a question. When Jake Tapper "interviews" one of his Democrat allies, he's very friendly and very helpful towards them. And this includes in asking questions posed by Republicans.
He doesn't present the evidence that the Republicans have accumulated and demand that his Democrat Pal answer each and every point of evidence. No, he says something like, "Republicans are making an issue of this stupid nonsense, how do you respond?"
This is an inoculation, not an interrogation -- he's not challenging the Democrat, he is providing the Democrat a service by offering him the opportunity to present his rehearsed, canned spin answer to the public on a highly-rated television show.
Did I just say "highly rated"? Pardon me, I just did crack for the first time.
Then the Democrat can go around the country saying "These questions have all been asked and answered."
The Inoculatory Question is like a vaccine dose -- it's a tiny, harmless bit of a question designed not to infect you, but to make it harder to infect you with the allegation.
Jake Tapper is getting a lot of well-deserved criticism for serving as Field Marshal of the Democrat-Media Party's Dementia Cover-Up Parade, and he asked his publisher to defend him.
I don't know for a fact that he asked his publisher to play PR agent for him, but I do know it. Jake Tapper absolutely cannot abide any kind of criticism, especially when it's about this Handgun Control, Inc. spokesman's, and former Democrat congressional staffer's, obvious political activism.
I've mentioned this before, but in one of my many DM interactions with Jake Tapper, he attempted to rebut something I'd written about him having obvious Democrat sympathies.
He said, and I quote:
"You have no idea of what my politics are."
Sure, Jan. Sure.
Mark Halperin has been as annoyed with Jake Tapper playing reporter on the Biden Dementia Conspiracy. Of all liberal reporters, Jake Tapper is the second-least credible on the issue, after only Joe Scarborough.
His co-author, Alex Thompson, no one really questions because Thompson did show an "interest" in the story and did do some mealy-mouthed reporting on it, back before the election, even before the debate. His "reportage" was weak but at least it was something.
And who knows -- his editors probably toned down his stories because they're all co-conspirators in the greatest political fraud in American history, too.
But Jake Tapper? The guy who insists, WITHOUT EVIDENCE, that all of Biden's slurring and Lost Time Events are due to his "childhood stutter"? A stutter that was only made known in 2019, when Biden's handlers needed to conjure excuses for why Biden so frequently forgot words and mistook dead foreign leaders for living ones and attempted to summon the ghost of a congresswoman he was delivering a eulogy for.
If you don't know how that worked: The lying media, including Jake Tapper, pushed the hoax on the country that when Biden lost his train of thought it was only because he was straining to keep his stutter under control. He wasn't having mental lapses, you see, he was just fighting heroically to keep a stutter under control, which sometimes caused him to invent words like "TRUMPALAZIZURE."
The "childhood stutter" that did not evidence itself for fifty years of this asshole's corrupt political career.
Jake Tapper pushed that lie -- without ever once asking where the evidence for this was, and without ever once notifying his (very small) audience that there was no evidence for it apart from the say-so of Biden's campaign staff.
Below, Mark Halperin looks at the full clips that Tapper's publisher presented in his defense, and finds that these are deceptive edits. Tapper never really asked about Biden's dementia or presented him with the evidence for it, like his attempting to summon the ghost of a dead congresswoman.
Instead, he merely asked about a poll showing that the public doubted Biden's fitness, and let Biden answer with the canned answer he always responds with, and offered no follow-up questions to this at all.
He let Biden inoculate himself from the charge, and then MovedOn.org like a good trained attack dog.
If you're interested in this story and the media's conspiracy to deceive the public, try to make time to watch Halperin's entire opening statement here. He flat-out says that Jake Tapper was part of the media conspiracy and is now creating "alternate realities" in which the press was trying desperately to get to the truth but was "stymied" by politicians lying.
He points out what we keep saying: You didn't need the White House staffers to admit Biden's cognitive decline to report it. You could just go to Twitter and see Biden saying "Where's Jackie?" while he was eulogizing Jackie's death.
Halperin unloaded again on Tapper this morning. He reveals that there is "no news" in the book -- an assessment shared by the NY Times in reviewing it. Apparently the book promises to expose the "cover-up," but never names anyone involved in the cover-up. It's observations about Biden being out-of-it, and complaints that unnamed, vague White House staffers bullied the Brave Firefighters of the media, but the bullies are never named. It's just anonymous sources making anonymous complaints about unnamed people.
Halperin also notes this factoid: How many paragraphs, he asks at about this point in the show, do you think the book mentions the infamous video of Biden appearing at a memorial for Congresswoman Jackie Walorski and asking "Where's Jackie?"
Zero. Zero paragraphs. In fact, Halperin says he ran a search on the document (he has a copy of the book) and found zero mentions of the "Where's Jackie?" incident.
So it's a book with no news in it written by a member of the conspiracy to deceive the American public that refuses to expose the conspiracy it promises to expose.
I think it's going to be another failed book by Tapper.
Tapper's entire premise is deceptive: You don't need "sources" to tell you that Biden has dementia when you can see it on TV every single week.
For example: Biden freezes on camera when asked a puff-piece question by a leftist reporter. Jake Tapper is claiming that he couldn't report this until "sources" confirmed that his eyes saw what his eyes saw.
You don't need to be a doctor to see that is a case of an elderly man forgetting important information that any non-impaired individual would know.
But Jake Tapper attacked Lara Trump for bringing up Biden's obvious cognitive decline, accusing her of making fun of children with stutters and insisting that only someone board-certified in neurology can see when an old person is mentally slipping.
The media is so determined to absolve themselves of complicity in the Biden Dementia Conspiracy that they're even willing to throw Democrat officials under the bus, if that's what it takes.
Chuck Todd, who never once suggested that Biden was mentally unfit and attacked Republicans for suggesting it, now says that Chuck Schumer was "part of the problem."
Collin Rugg
@CollinRugg
A balding Chuck Todd rips Senator Chuck Schumer for "covering up" President Biden's mental decline.
"Go home. You’re part of the problem. Now you tell us?"
Lmao what a fraud. This guy and his friends in the media covered up Biden's obvious mental decline for four years and then have the audacity to blame it on someone else.
The media spin is in full effect.
They want you to forget that **they** were the ones who defended Biden when he was deteriorating in front of you.
A balding Chuck Todd rips Senator Chuck Schumer for "covering up" President Biden's mental decline.
"Go home. You’re part of the problem. Now you tell us?"
Lmao what a fraud. This guy and his friends in the media covered up Biden's obvious mental decline for four years and then… pic.twitter.com/0U1TD1jLhe
Chuck Todd is also saying that reporters aren't to blame, because their Democrat "sources" -- their friends and bed-mates and political allies -- lied to them.
He's claiming that reporters have no role in reporting except to dutifully re-transmit the lies that their friends tell them.
As I keep saying, weird how Republicans never get the benefit of this "you must believe politicians" rule. Only the media's beloved Democrats.
🚨NEW: Chuck Todd blames "sources" for reporters' failure to cover Biden's decline🚨
"The real culprits are the people who are supposed to be our sources on all these things, who were constantly reassuring us behind the scenes, 'No, no, no, no, it's better than you think.'"… pic.twitter.com/arnRaEwDOQ
That said -- Charles Schumer definitely was part of the problem.
Biden would call up Schumer and then immediately forget why he was calling.
Schumer also noted that Biden spoke slowly and very softly -- sounding very much like the voice of a family member who had Alzheimer's.
And he just insisted and insisted that Biden was sharp as a tack.
And now?
Reporter: "You said in June of last year that Biden was in command and impressive. Were you being straight with the American public?"

Name recognition is one of the most powerful forces in politics.
"I know who that is," does just so much.
It's why Joe Biden could go from laugh riot who failed several presidential campaigns to most prominent and consistent not-Bernie in 2020: people knew who he was.

Absent a plague like Covid, I can't see the Biden under the wraps campaign working either so it would have to be the Big Cheat which is risky when the executive and the people in general are aware of the mechanics of it.
But I am not sure that the Dems can agree on an alternative to Kamala as their hierarchy seems to be breaking down and aging out. Kamala would be the first loser at the presidential race to be renominated since Adlai Stevenson for the Dems (and a bit more recent as Nixon did it for the GOP).

I finally watched Predator prequel "Prey." Meh. Some nice scenery, but the rest of the movie was crap. Never did I think the story took place in the wilderness in 1719. The natives were so modern in terms of dialogue, appearance, and culture they looked like 21st century pop stars LARPing as native Indians. Who was styling all their hair and makeup?
The lead girlboss heroine was whiny and annoying and ended up getting a lot of her tribe killed because of her stupidity. She is shown several times failing at hunts, and nearly killed by a lion and a bear. But at some point, she turns into Rambo and kills a Predator nearly single-handedly. Lots of stunt doubles. When it's clearly her on screen, she moves awkwardly and can barely run convincingly. She's also chubby compared to the much leaner other natives.
The script was boring. Not a single surprise moment or any plot twists at all. They were just checking off boxes for a "Predator 101" script.
And what's up with this Predator? If the Predator species is gonna represent, why did they send the dumbest one of them to Earth? This Predator has no stalking or hunting skills at all, and barely understands his own tech.

Yeah they have wholly abandoned the entire idea of objective sticking to the facts, the old "five W's" thing and reporting things as they happen. That's male, pale, and stale. Now its about shaping the narrative and building a leftist future utopia by manipulating the public perception.
Take two thoughts and combine them:
1) The left became fixated on the idea of misinformation and disinformation in 2020
2) The left always accuses their enemies of what they are currently doing or would do in their enemy's place.

Yeah its a questionable plot line to begin with: focusing on the Predator, starting on their planet? No, they are dehuman and alien monsters that are frightening in their mystery. You don't even see the Predator much of the movie, if its done well. Babyface predator grows up and talks to other monsters is a bad approach. Different than before, but not good.
And yeah, just about every movie now has writers who cannot write any culture or people than their own, other than broad stereotypes. They don't know anything because they are so great they don't NEED to learn anything, they are just great out of the box and the only thing that has to happen is everyone else needs to let them be as great as they know they are.
So everyone everywhere in every story behaves and looks and talks like downtown LA.

I think the normal politics stopped by 2012. Trump is essentially an independent who won the GOP nomination in 2016 because his competitors were credentialed and loyal to GOPe 'principles'. Cruz in 2016 was the closest to being the outsider other than Trump but still mouthed a lot of GOP platitudes.
But, the country and the GOP primary electorate had changed--they were tired of Invade the World, Invite the World, no longer entranced by tax cuts as a palliative nor the mantra of respectability, dependability, etc.
Now, I think the Dem electorate is in similar shape, they know what they do not want (Pelosi, Schumer, etc.) but are unsure what they do want.
Kamala could nail it in 2028 (like Nixon did in 196 but I think to win she will have to reject the nostrums of the remaining Obamaites and Bidenites.
Last time the Dems were in this problem, I think, was with Williams Jennings Bryan who they nominated several times due to the failed second term of Grover Cleveland. Progressives versus old school Dems in those contests.

It's worse than that, I think. I'm now of a mind that the MFM is so fixated on Biden's decline now (oh, and who knew about it and when) not just because asking the question takes the heat off them. It also takes the heat off asking the obvious question of which country - and how many of them - were paying off Biden. We know that he was on the CCP payroll simply for letting that spy balloon cross the country without incident. We know that Moscow paid him off as well. All this talk of his cognitive state conveniently prevents retrospective investigation of all that corruption.
Now that they found a 'nodule' on him, I think that's the Bat Signal to one and all to put all Dem corruption on him before he dies, so that the secrets get buried with him.

Trump was helped by the media hoping he would destroy the GOP's chances.

If they want to smother someone so they get no media play in SC or IA or NH, they can probably do it. I think GOPe is paralyzed because their middle way is doomed--government finances going forward are limiting their corporate grifting/payoffs to Dems: and societal idiocies promoted by Dems like transgendering kids and men competing in women's sports are simply not suitable for kindler gentler middle way bullshit.
That sort of GOPe type is doomed and each two years winnows more of them from office. By Trump's skip term, he has become the major transformative change agent in the GOP party and should he succeed in his endeavors, that leaves GOPe in the cold. Either DeSantis or Vance appear even less favorable to the Invade the World and Invite the World and kissing corporate ass. But as always, we shall see.

The media didn't actively help Trump much in 2016. Trump helped himself by targeting an unheard section of the voting public but also speaking sensibly and *never* backing down. He also "triangulated" against both sitting parties. He did that, not the media. They hated him and said he could never win from jump.
What's more there was a ton of skepticism on the *right* against him, which was very much in line with what the media was reporting and saying. It wasn't the media who convinced skeptical righties it was Trump.
Fox didn't like him either. Megyns performance was in a very early debate. They wanted Trump gone. This idea that the media got Trump the nomination is a wee bit of revisionism. Trump may have used the media but that's not the same. He was KKK Hitler and a Joke from the start.

She never got a chance. Plus, she's the latest in a series of high-profile black women who have had their races stolen (Stacey Abrams).
Plus, change vs. status quo? After 4 years of Trump? More than enough Democrat voters will see any Democrat as the change candidate.
She doesn't need to win a clear majority of voters in Jan 2028. She needs to win SC. And then NH. SC should be easy.

I think Kamala represents change to Democrats, not status-quo.
Posted by: TheJamesMadison

I think AOC represents change to Dems more than Kamala. Kamala might be able to run as an anti Trump if something like 2008 reoccurs but the old Obama formula of race, gender, and hate is not something that is a winnable formula going forward. I think the Dems have to go back to economic class at least as a supplement if not dominant to identity politics. Because losing the working class while gaining the much smaller AWFL and upper class is not a formula for success at the general election.
GOP proved that fighting FDR for two elections and then reverting to me tooism until Reagan.

Even the DNC recognizes election problems which is why they ended up deserting Hillary in 2008 for the hot new Obama, almost midstream so to speak.
If the DNC thinks that 2028 is a losing year, they have no problem repeating a losing unity candidate like Kamala while they try to consolidate internally (this party division existed in the early 1900's btw between the urban progressives and the rural Southern and Western Dems which is why they kept nominating a loser William Jennings Bryan until that was resolved).
Throughout the West, the old party formulas are breaking down. That means the mainstream parties are either going to have to adapt or die to the new electoral circumstances or resort to outright fascism to try to save themselves for a bit longer.

Chuck's totally objective, they lied to him, how's he going to prove them wrong?
He's got Bush-Cheney & Dole stickers to prove it!
He's got a point, though unintended.
Journalists, rarely, if ever, do actual investigations anymore.
When you've been taught to have an agenda and be an activist in college, and toss objectivity to the wind, you are incapable of being skeptical or investigating anything any longer.
Because your entire job now is to write a sustainable, beneficial, narrative and produce propaganda for the ideology guiding you.
What is there to investigate when you're writing a screenplay and not a news story?
The only thing you need to research is technical details to make the story plausible.
Then all you need to do is find the right people to portray the right characters for your production.
They can't investigate anything because their job isn't holding the criminal and powerful to account through seeking the truth.
Their job is the constant manipulation of our common reality.
And now the internet has exposed them.

These nations started out tilting to fascism. A democratic system is built on trusting the electorate. These nations having systems with 2 phase elections, short runups to elections, multi parties that are not encouraged to merge are all based on not trusting the electorate. The only alternative trusting the government over the people, authoratarianism.

When I think about Dementia Joe's decline, I first remember Joe back in the Fall of 2019. At that time, he was I'd call it at about 96% of full Joe being there, but by the Spring of 2020, Joe was at 80%, as the quick witted politician seemed to have taken it's leave.

I already said I thought I had the story wrong, so I went to read up on the history to get the story straight. This page (link below) says Sarnoff got the FCC to reassign the FM frequencies during WWII, when FDR was still president!! Are you certain FDR didn’t put his thumb on the scale there? I am back to holding that this was part of shutting down a new medium that didn’t agree with the New Deal. Fascism indeed!
