Yesterday I got my full-sized Logitech keyboard from Amazon. Setup was a bit of a struggle until I got the computer to "recognize" the keyboard. Still it will take some getting used to -- just as the Apple mini-keyboard that came with the iMac did.
Also yesterday I got the news that the short story I sold to Black Cat Weekly will be appearing in next week's issue. I thanked them for the notice, and asked the most important question: "When will the check come out?"

I think it may be - slightly - overblown unless you live in one of the big cities. The other thing to keep in mind is that the women who follow the 6-6-6 rule will screw cute guys who don't meet their "dating" rule but they won't be faithful to anyone until they pass the 100+ sexual partners goal or reach an age where they're no longer fertile. Social media has seriously done a number on the current young adult generation.

In the end, most of 6-6-6 is just an exaggerated form of perfectly normal traits that everyone takes for granted: women prefer taller men to shorter ones and almost universally want to be with a men who are taller than them and are looking for men who will be good providers. Whatever women purport to want, their Creator or evolution, whichever explanation you prefer, has made these choices for them (in much the same way that men generally value youth and beauty over a lot of traits).

Years pass, she advances in her job (which requires seeking a higher level income/status potential mate), and gains more "experience." Her standards are still extremely high, but the pool is reduced to mostly sexual opportunities for the same men that started the cycle years before.
There is absolutely nothing good about any of this.
Teaching young women that their sexual access is valuable and reserved for marriage is the only clear way forward.

I bought a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid at the beginning of the year because of lots of complications when the car I bought 3 months earlier got totaled by a nitwit.
It is getting 50 mpg around town and about 34 mpg driving on the NM freeways at 80 mph. Toyota has this technology down cold to the point the warranty on the battery is 10 years or 150K miles. The acceleration is about on par with the 2.5L gas version. If you didn't know it was a hybrid you wouldn't know its a hybrid.

Good morning, Hordians. Getting the back acreage mowed today. I would have done it yesterday but ran into (or over) a problem.
There was a brush pile near the fence. The Great Fire of 2025 burned most of it up, but there were still some good size pieces, plus a separate pile of fencing knocked down by Beryl.
I moved both to a new pile well away from the fence and sought to mow the overgrown stuff where the old pile was. Little did I know there was a piece of welded wire fencing in the ground. It wrapped itself thoroughly and comprehensively around one of the blades. Had to pull the mower deck, get the wire unwound from the blade and spindle (a major undertaking) and put the deck back on (a major undertaking).

Long term reliability of direct injection is still a concern. I think the OEMs may know more about how to make a battery pack go 150k+ than the DI engines.

NRG Energy Inc. agreed to acquire a fleet of natural gas-fired power plants from LS Power Equity Advisors LLC for about $12 billion including debt.
The deal includes 18 gas-fired facilities with a combined capacity of about 13 gigawatts, enough to power about 10.4 million homes, and expands NRG's footprint in the Northeast and Texas.

Toyota warrants their latest hybrid batteries for 10 years or 150K miles. Basically, they last the life of the car. Hybrids, at least Toyotas, are a proven system anymore. More to the point is all the excessive auto emissions regulations has distorted what technology can be used and has driven up the costs. It is almost as if somebody somewhere has been chipping away at making EVs the only solution until they can ban them too.

I honestly don’t know how a Japanese girl would react to a Western guy like yourself.
I imagine quite a few would be intrigued, though, because they generally like America, and Western guys aren’t Japanese guys so there’s always that extra exotic flavor that some of them will be attracted to.
