Interior with Figures
Joseph Hirsch

Compared to yesterday's dreck, this is a competent portrayal. What the point of the art is a different issue, and I do not have high hopes for an answer that isn't a hodgepodge of socialist babble and anti-capitalist nonsense.

Yeah...the artist was a communist sympathizer. But at least he could paint!

But it's incredible that I was seeing a wire, almost thinking that was a hair or something that got on the painting and then my brain went, "no dummy that's a cord, remember?". I didn't get a cell until later 00s, more than 60% of my life has been landlines. But I completely forgot they existed.

197 Comey said he didn't know what 86 meant. So what if it was something positive about Trump? That's what he was posting?

The two defenses are that he doesn't know what it means, even though he was lead on mob cases where that terminology was used frequently, and that it doesn't mean to kill someone, it's restaurant slang for cancelling an order.

The big brain conspiracy theory on this is that he's hoping to get arrested or at least brought in for questioning in order to boost sales of his book.

I saw some "study" ages ago that figured out that statistically everyone gets a certain number of "pack-years" (a pack a day for a year) before they start to get significantly elevated risks of bad stuff happening.

I forget what the number was, but I think it was more like the 20-30 range.

Our fate is our fate, I guess.

269 Interior with Figures, Joseph Hirsch. Yes, it's very interesting but wouldn't hang.

I assume, maybe wrongly, Hirsch was a spoiled brat who lived a good life even during the 1930s & 40s, i.e.,

Wikipedia: In the late 1930s, Hirsch worked in Philadelphia as an artist in the easel painting division of the Works Project Administration.[1] He painted murals for the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Office Building at 2113-27 South Street; for the Family Court Building at 1801 Vine Street; and for the Benjamin Franklin High School at Broad & Green Streets (now demolished).[3])

In the 1940s, 1942–1943, he was embedded as an artist/war correspondent with naval airmen in Florida, then with the U.S. Navy Medical Corps in the South Pacific.

(*Note: In 1942, the Works Project Administration played a key role in both building and staffing internment camps to incarcerate Japanese Americans.) Wikipedia, too

"In my painting I want to castigate the things I hate and paint monuments to what I feel is noble. — Joseph Hirsch[8]"

Guilty conscience of his good life? But just typical of the lefties, too. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks

279 People don't want to work. Yes there are a handful of people that have dream jobs that they'd do whether or not they got paid for them but that's a fraction of a percent.

I would love to rehab & release wildlife as a full time job. But no one is willing to pay for that.

Technically TANF which replaced AFDC as a primary welfare program does have a limit of 5 years.

But in effect, states were allowed to waiver powers for various reasons. Now the waivers during the Obammy years and later have essentially inverted the distribution where more recipients are waivered than comply with the statutory requirement.

Foodstamps is a different program, Medicaid has its own rules, as does Housing assistance.

290 For those who think the msm has no influence anymore, you might want to rethink that. People have been beaten over the head by the media screaming about tariff inflation. Of course there is no inflation.

But still the expected inflation by Americans is at 7.3%. That’s what people think it will be over the next year. It’s the highest level since the 80s. University of Michigan takes. A survey every month and has been since the 70s.

The reason of course is daily headlines screaming about it. As much as alternative media and podcasts and what have you, are a powerful force in media, CNN and NYT still drive the narratives.

We're getting there. First Lady is doing better, just feels drained still and her self confidence is a bit bruised. Daughter found a job waiting tables, so she'll be making money soon. We're transporting her car to the dealership to get more details on what's wrong with it and the cost for Insurance purposes.

I'm still a bit mental, but getting there.

Thank you for asking.

Fun fact: welfare single moms open accounts in their kids' names after their own credit has been nuked to glass. So then the kids grow up and can't get credit because their record is already terrible. It's actual generational theft.
