The Department of Justice and the estate of Ashli Babbitt have reached a preliminary settlement in a $30 million wrongful death lawsuit tied to her fatal shooting during the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. Babbitt, an unarmed Air Force veteran and staunch Trump supporter, was shot by a Capitol Police officer as she attempted to breach the Speaker's Lobby.

DOJ and Babbitt's estate reached a settlement "in principle" in the $30 million lawsuit filed in 2024.
Babbitt was shot by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd while trying to climb through a barricaded door during the January 6 riot.

Only time I've ever seen someone shot in the neck and no one treating the victim remove the scarf to check the wound. Or take the backpack off to carry her to the ambulance.

There is lots of other questionable stuff (terrible wound didn't bleed until the soft-landing backpack was squeezed by another person), but the scarf and backpack were the most obvious.

For me, it was the "Buster Pussy" rule. They removed the collision at home plate because the idiot never learned how to block the plate and got his leg fractured. Bruce Bochy was their manager. I was disappointed learning that he became the Rangers manager, then won the Series.

Our mutant pitcher hit a grand slam in an earlier game last week.

His inside the park this game was deep center-right. RF hit the cutoff beautifully, cutoff turned and lasered it home for a video replay catch/tag, that the ump called safe (2 RBI, IIRC). It was just excellent baseball on both sides.

Truly an epic game start to finish.

Right now, the kids are too young to really coach but I'm trying to just get them to square up and throw in a straight line. Next comes getting them to just let it rip.

One of the other coaches has a kid with some potential but he doesn't extend his arm back. He kind of shotputs the ball, but still has some velocity. If I can get him to extend, he'll throw smoke.

Of course not. It has nothing to do with it. She is officially dead, and really dead, for all practical purposes, as far as her family is concerned, whether she's biologically literally dead or not.

I don't think it's popular to say in here, but there were a LOT of things in the video of it that made it pretty obvious it was faked - including the fact that a bunch of people just happened to be filming it.

Her death being fake only makes her that much more of a patriot - to give up the life she had, and start a new one in secret somewhere, for what I assume was an extremely patriotic purpose.

I'm guessing that it was to create a distraction. It was right outside the very office where Special Ops went in and swiped Nancy Pelosi's laptop, after all. That laptop had to be SUPER important, to even consider sending Special Ops on such a mission.

It also explains why that cop STILL hasn't been charged with murder.
