The Classical Saturday Coffee Break & Prayer Revival

sm-rise-shine-20250311-1003.jpg

*****

Good morning boys and girls and everything in between. Before we enter the Prayer Revival just a few housekeeping matters to go over. (Rulz for those of you in Edgar)

1) This is an open thread. Feel free to lurk, opine and/or bloviate.
2) Be kind, be nice. Splash the trolls with sarcasm and wit.
3) No running with sharp objects.
4) Have a great weekend!

AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List

Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.

Prayer Requests:

3/24 – Update on Jewell45. Her daughter posted an update, with approval to share: "Okay. Need to do a life update for mama. She hasn’t been doing so hot the last couple weeks. Like I said last month, the cancer has been spreading. She’s been declining quite a bit since then. Her energy level is very low and she’s struggling with breathing after the smallest tasks or even if she talks too much. The decision has been made to transition to hospice care. I want to be clear here about a couple things. Number one, she is NOT in her final days although her oncologist estimates with how the cancer has progressed that she is probably down to several months, 6-9 maybe more. Number 2. She is up for visitors but not much. Please contact myself, dad or her first. She won’t last much longer than 15-20 minutes if you do stop by, so keep your expectations low. Other than that, continued prayers and good vibes are always appreciated. Much love to you all. If you have questions, feel free to contact me privately. This is obviously a difficult time as you can imagine but I’ll do my best."
4/15 Update – Jewells passed away. Members of the Horde are donating to her favorite charity; please contact Annie’s Stew for more information.

4/12 – Ace-Endorsed Author A. H. Lloyd requested prayers for Mrs. Lloyd, for her healing and comfort for the family, especially the grandchildren who greatly miss the woman who has been the most constant and consistent presence in their young lives.
4/19 Update – Mrs. Lloyd has spent the last week in the hospital, and it is a very good thing. For too long she had ignored her health, her diet, etc. and now she is faced with irrefutable proof that she must make serious and immediate life changes. This is a great blessing for Holy Week. Had things not happened the way they did, she might have left us quite soon.
4/26 Update – Mrs. Lloyd is home from the hospital and things are settling down again.

4/12 – Intruder Driver requests prayers for friend Ron and his wife Sherry, as Ron’s Parkinson’s is getting worse.

4/12 – Sharon (willow’s apprentice) greatly appreciates prayers as she recovers from cataract surgery.

4/12 – Ben Had sent an update on Jim SND. He had surgery to implant a feeding tube, and he hopes to go home soon.
4/16 Update – After 3 weeks in the hospital, Jim SND has been released to go home. He has both a vent tube and stomach tube to assist him in breathing and getting nourishment. Jim and Iris appreciate your prayers.
3/24 Update – Jim SND is home and regaining some strength.

4/14 – Grateful – the range bag lady posted: T-Rex’s mother, MommaRex, was rushed to the hospital over the weekend and was diagnosed with Parkinsons. The family is asking for prayers for God’s strength in dealing with the disease and challenging family situation.
4/19 Update – MommaRex is currently in a rehab facility and they are trying to find an assisted living facility for the next step. She has been blessed with good health, so this has truly thrown her in so many ways.

4/15 – Salty Dog requested prayers for his wife, who underwent triple-bypass open heart surgery on 4/9. Her recovery will be a steep uphill climb to the uplands of better health.
4/17 Update – Mrs. Salty Dog was life-flighted to KU Medical in Kansas City. They are to create a new plan of action, as there was a new issue with her heart on 4/16.
4/20 Update – Mrs. Salty Dog (Linda) passed away on Easter. Salty Dog said our prayers were answered, as she passed quickly, without pain or struggle, under the comfort of good drugs. Her last complaint was that the lights were so bright. (This was after he had closed the blinds and made the room as dark as possible.) Easter i the answer.

4/15 – Matthew Kant Cipher asked for prayers for “Dee”, an 88 year-old who has been caring for her quadriplegic son, who was injured in a car accident when he was 17. Dee had a couple of people helping her take care of him, but they are no longer able to do so. Now she is having to care for him herself, while still working as a receptionist for a local meat processing company. Please pray that the Lord provides for her and her son.

4/16 – TecumsehTea requested prayers for a grandson, age 15. The grandson had been sick with a fever and headache since 4/13, and took a turn for the worse. He was taken to the ER on 4/16.

4/19 – Eromero posted his praise for God for healing, comforting, and blessing our brothers and sisters here. He is always with us, even if we are too stressed to feel his presence.

4/22 – FenelonSpoke requested prayers for M, who sometimes fills in as the organist. He has to have vein surgery on his feet, and he needs to have his feet work well to play the organ pedals. Also, prayers for J, who is having a stent put in her heart.
4/26 Update – M’s surgery was successful. J is having setbacks and is still in the hospital. She has not been able to have her heart surgery. Thanks for the prayers!

4/23 – Trudy asked for prayers for her husband, Bill, who is having persistent pain that may well be heart-related.
4/26 Update – Trudy and Bill sent their thanks for the prayers. He had suffered a moderate heart attack. He received 3 stents, and came home on 4/26. They are very thankful for their 54 years together, and are delighted that there will be more! They have been truly uplifted by the prayers.

4/25 – MkY sent thanks for the prayers for his wife Judy, and asked for continued prayers. She has stage IV renal cancer. The tumors have shrunk, but not significantly. Every ER visit has been related to pain management, and it has not been going well. Please pray for help with the pain, and for MkY – that he can be strong and steady even though he feels helpless.

4/26 – Commissar Hrothgar asked for prayers for his elderly sister-in-law, Elizabeth, and her battle with a persistent foot infection, and for blessings on her church friends that are helping her in so many ways!

4/26 – Bif gave an update on Smash. Her abdominal issues are getting closer to full diagnosis. They are waiting on some specialists. She will probably need some surgery to fix what the MRI radiologists say is a necessary repair. Also, she has cataract surgery coming up.

4/26 – Oddbob requested prayers for his daughter’s MIL, Elaine, who was diagnosed with ALS this week.

4/26 – John the River asked for prayers. His girlfriend and partner of the last 10 years passed away suddenly and without warning on Easter Sunday. He went to her house with dinner and found her on the bedroom floor. Her name was Marsha.

4/26 – L asked for prayers for R, her granddaughter.

4/27 – NemoMeImpuneLacessit would appreciate prayers, for laparoscopy surgery on 4/27.

4/27 – Teresa in Fort Worth sent an update with great news – all of her tumors have shrunk by half! The plan now is to continue on this chemotherapy medication until it stops working; no idea how long that might be. When that does happen, they will look at whether or not surgery can be done. (Right now, it cannot, due to the fact that there are multiple tumors.) The surgeon did say that her response to chemo has been “dramatic”, and he is “cautiously optimistic” that surgery will be an option in the future. Her case and the good response to the medication has been extremely rare – such a blessing.

4/30 – “…” posted that she could use some prayers for her good friend Emm, who is starting five months of chemo, followed hopefully by surgery, then radiation.

For submission guidelines and other relevant info, please contact Annie's Stew, who is managing the prayer list. You can contact her at apaslo at-sign hotmail dot com. If you see a prayer request posted in a thread comment, feel free to copy and paste it and e-mail it to Annie's Stew. She tries to keep up with the requests in the threads, but she's not here all of the time, so she may not see it unless you e-mail it to her. Please note: Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks or so unless we receive an update.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.

Noticed fields usually planted in soybeans are lying fallow. Because China is a big soybeans buyer.

Most cow herds have few calves. Every once in a while you pass a herd with many calves and it is a surprise. Expect beef prices to rise eventually as the herds get smaller.

10 I think I told some folks here about this guy who returned to the RC after not being a practicing Catholic for about 20 years. Now he's a Eucharistic minister. He has one prayer he says everyday, "Lord, please show me something today." Today, I made the same prayer. So far, I 've seen among other things, a little sparrow collecting a twig for a nest . a bunch of beautiful flowering trees and a man coming into the supermarket with a big smile and a cheery " Hello!" Nice morning. Thanks, Lord.

We were able to find a very nice assisted living facility which had an opening when we needed it, and MommaRex moved into her apartment suite yesterday. So far, she is very happy with everything. And we are so thankful that God guided her in this direction. Horde prayers truly are the best!

27 Morning again, all,

I woke up at 3 am and couldn't slide back to sleep. My coffeemaker has a four-hour "keep the pot hot" limit, so it's going to cork off soon. It behooves me to drink the last of it before it goes cold, no?

Anyway: 'Tis Saturday, The Day of Errands and Naps.

32 Quick update.
First, thanks again for all the prayers.
Secondly, Judy's tumors are shrinking. Oncologist is "encouraged" so that bleeds over into Judy's attitude.
Third, as her biggest issue (as in ER visits) has been pain management, the palliative care team believes that most the pain is NOT cancer related, so they have prescribed some alternatives for those related pains. She now rarely takes the oxycodone.
She's encouraged, so I'm encouraged.

If you drew a line from Concordia to Salina to Hutchinson to Wellington, the majority of the Kansas population is to the east of that line. As well as precipitation. West of that you have fewer people and more sparse medical care.

However, without Trump-induced reforms in medical care, I see troubles ahead in every medical system.

I was surprised to learn that the Corporation for Public Broadcasting doles out only about 10-15% of a station's operating costs to local PBS stations. That's not insurmountable if good liberal institutions want to fill the void,

PBS used to be the only option for certain types of programs, but that is no longer the case. And I still love tuning in for Nova and the like, but the chances that you'll have to endure civil rights and climate changes lectures in your history and science shows is very high.

42 I have to drop off laundry this morning, and then I think I will motor over to the casino and put down a quality bet on the Derby. Then I will put in a couple non quality bets on long shots. A long time ago I was going to the track for the Derby, and Mom wanted me to put in a $100 bet on Ferdinand to win (Shoemaker was my Dad's favorite jockey). Driving to the track, I convinced myself this was a good idea and I did the same. Ferdinand came across at 54 to 1. Unfortunately, I had a little car trouble and put the bet down with my book. Had to make up Mom's winnings as bookies max out at 36-1.

It is no great stretch to find that people who fantasize about violently overthrowing society are also sexual degenerates.

They cloak the evil in their hearts in virtue-signaling which no consists of being the loudest and most strident advocate of violence against one's political enemies.

77 The Gospels mention Jesus saying “faith” is ultimately what has healed a person several times. That continues after the resurrection with Peter in Acts 3:16;

>> By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

I’ve heard faith treated in a somewhat banal, trite way in numerous sermons. But it really is a central pillar of Christian belief. In the Catholic Church it was a bit trampled by “love” especially since Vatican II.

I see the opposite. The collapse of many denominations has been based on the belief that faith supersedes actual deeds in defiance of God's laws. As long as you love love love than all else is acceptable. Some are calling this "weaponized empathy" where you must 'walk with sinners' and 'meet them where they are,' which in practice means accepting their sinful actions and lifestyle without reproach.

My diocese and especially my parish are not by any means ultra-conservative, but both are emphasizing actions, whether in terms of giving time, resources or personal devotions (fasting on EVERY Friday, not just Lent) to achieve greater closeness with God.

Without trying to look creepy I stood for a few minutes on the sidewalk imagining a very young boy in his bedroom "broadcasting" on some sort of crude Heathkit-like crystal radio set. His mother, downstairs in the kitchen, with a transistor radio, was his sole audience.
From such a humble start he went on to become a powerful voice to influence the thinking of millions across the fruited plain.

We will get who the Holy Spirit sends. Francis was a disappointment in many ways, but only he could have so thoroughly exposed the truth about the Lavender Mafia and the depth of corruption within the hierarchy.

His attempt to establish a papal dictatorship demoralized even his supporters, and no one is talking about "synodality" any more. I think the cardinals want a quieter, more orthodox pope and they have to know that the future of the Church is trending hard towards orthodoxy. Liberal Catholicism is a spent force, and Francis' pontificate with its last hurrah.

I'm hoping that the sensible cardinals in Conclave will form a sufficiently large bloc (one-third) to prevent the election of some Francis-appointed lunatic.

'Tis true that within the term "Traditional Catholic" you can get to Nut City rather quickly, but there's a not-inconsiderable and growing number of the faithful who, like me, find greater solace in firm, clear doctrine and the beauty of the Tridentine Rite and don't think doing so is some schismatic act.

I'm not going to question the canonical validity of the Mass of Paul VI or the piety of those who enjoy it, but there was no reciprocal indulgence from the late, unlamented papacy. Far from being some lovey-dovey Pope as portrayed in the MSM, Francis was cruel and vengeful to those who questioned his acts or the direction the Church was being taken.

137 I see the opposite. The collapse of many denominations has been based on the belief that faith supersedes actual deeds in defiance of God's laws.

That has always been part of chasm between Luther and Rome: that Rome acts as if somehow God is impressed with a person's deeds as if the deeds in and of themselves influence Eternal Destination.

The Free Will Enthusiasts, on the other hand, eschew works other than the work of "Choosing Christ".

I think both of these positions are rooted in the lack of understanding that Works are the natural externalization of regeneration and sanctification. Luther couldn't crack the code either with James' epistle.

"Faith without works is dead", in the world of Divine Ambiguity leads Rome to teach what they do, and those who understand the spiritual change whose demonstration through the outflow of works is considered "Fruit". That is, the changed life goes against their former desires and acts according to a whole different set of desires and motivations, the externalization of that is referred to as "Works".

Jonathan Roumie's portrayal of Jesus Christ is very moving. I've heard he say that the opportunity to portray Christ is a gift from God and he takes it very seriously.

We (Mrs. Cop, grandson #2 and I) saw Season 5 in the movie theaters. Part 1 (ending with the Cleansing of the Temple) is "action", Part 2 drags a bit, and Part 3 (ending with the Agony in the Garden) is rather emotional.

No kidding. As a naïve stranger to that place, like the carefully crafted angles and shots used to make the TV series "Dallas" ranch look out in the middle of no where (its not), so do the producers of the Derby when televising it.

The necropsy showed that Fitz died of DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy), where the heart is enlarged and the walls thinned; death can come from arrhythmia or edema.

Fitz's sister Sally in California died of it a month and a half ago and his cousin Spark here died of it last year. Dot, Fitz and Sally's dam, and Delilah, Spark's dam are sisters but the sires of each litter were different. So we have a problem we never anticipated and couldn't test for.

We have made arrangements for further testing of our dogs as part of a study at Texas A&M of heart problems in Borzoi. Next month we'll be taking Dot, Puff (Spark's sister), Ruth (from a different litter of Delilah's) and Dan (Delilah's brother).

Life intervened, and I didn't get to report that Grandson #2 (he's 15) received the Sacraments of Initiation during the Easter Vigil on April 19th. Father "H" and Grandson #2 conspired to perform a full immersion Baptism. Grandson #2's fame has spread within our Family of Parishes: more than one person has told us, "We heard about him - he really got dunked by Father!"

So, we ended with almost 30 new Papists this Easter Vigil.

Watched the first three episodes last weekend, and we got good and interested. Then I spent this week with my mama, who had surgery on Monday, then had a stroke on Wednesday. Taking a respite weekend while my sis stays with her, hoping to get her into rehab care Monday. She was not pleased that she still has to be in the hospital for the weekend.

Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at May 03, 2025 08:36 AM (ZOv7s)

AHL, I agree. That's why I'm not paying attention to speculation about the new Pope may be. It's in the hands of God.

Even if the Liberals within the hierarchy get their pick, the younger priests are tending to be very orthodox in their behavior. The stereotypical, "Hippy Dippy Father" is a dying breed. Most of the Liberals will be dead within a decade.

All of them had pride, even Lawrence. And I believe that the dead Pope engineered the entire result, which from a plot standpoint was.pretty cool. Evil, but cool.

This is where the "meet them where they are" idea fails. Blessing unrepentant sinners isn't merciful, it's cruel. It's telling people to just keep on that path of damnation and enjoy the ride.

The Church teaches that both are necessary. You believe, and then act on that belief, and when you sin, seek forgiveness, make amends (penance) and try again.

I've found it to be very effective in correcting my sinful ways. I've a long way to go, but I'm a much better person than I was.

I used to put on NPR for short errands out of curiosity. It was always some LGBTQ or DEI type story. Just the most deviant or blatantly "we love brown people and immigrants!!" type fare.

This is exposes the lie about GDP. Super-high government spending can cover up the real economy being in recession and because GDP is never set against debt, we can all believe that the economy didn't contract during the entirety of Biden's administration, but it did.

Giving $2 billion in debt-financed money to Tank Abrams produces zero economic growth, but that's what the professional class believes.

I'm fully prepared for the next few years having economists "unexpectedly" finding growth and job creation, rising wages amidst government spending cuts.

220 >>the collapse of many denominations has been based on the belief that faith supersedes actual deeds in defiance of God's laws. As long as you love love love than all else is acceptable

What is faith? Can it stand alone? What about love, and does any one principle stand above the other or do they more correctly work together to bring us into God’s graces?

This idea being promulgated by some in the faith that single principles are preeminent or superior in guiding the others is not just faulty, but destined for failure. That’s not based on anything Jesus tells us through the Gospels. It’s based on man’s interpretation. That’s why I often have issues with pronouncements coming from the Pope or church. Some of it, and you must forgive me, sounds akin to the Sanhedrin. Organizations built by man are inherently faulty. Jesus mentions throughout the Gospels that people are so focused on the law and in many cases their own arrogance, they miss the most important thing, even when He’s standing right in front of them. At some point it’s willful blindness to the truth. When Jesus states “your faith has healed you” it gives importance to that pillar. But it is by no means the only pillar.

I think an increasing number of Christians are becoming vocal, and are pushing back against the "new Paganism." The days of Nice Christianity are coming to an end. The lukewarm are falling away, but those that remain will be much more devout and ready for the spiritual battle that is taking place all around us.

I came across a video in which the actor that portrays Reacher, Alan Richson, is in an interview with Bill Maher. Maher is denying the divinity of Jesus Christ and the reality of God. Richson makes the point that the Apostles were willing to die rather than deny Christ's divinity, and he (Richson) is willing to believe in "magic" (I think he meant the supernatural), and that Maher believe whatever he wants, but "it's a battle" (obviously meaning a spiritual battle).

I don’t disagree. And this idea, push largely by the Jesuits I might add, to “meet sinners where they are, as you so eloquently put it, is a corruption or Jesus’ teaching. Because they’ve ultimately made it, again as you stated, about acceptance of those living in sin. They forgot the part where Jesus stated they should also repent. In that regard, faith is ultimately about believing without knowing. In this case specifically it’s about departing from sinful ways and having the faith that Jesus will not only give you the strength to persevere in that journey but reward you in Heaven for having the courage to make that journey.

When people encourage sin, they are not being like Jesus. Jesus did not tell the woman taken in adultery to just keep sinning. He said to go forth and sin no more.

That's not what these "meet you where you are" ministries typically do. And yes, there are Catholics who want to bless sinful unions because of an excess of compassion.

That's why faith must also include works/actions. If you truly repent of adultery, break off the relationship, don't seek a church that will excuse or justify it.

True agape' is telling the truth and wanting what is best for them, so that they can ultimately go to Heaven. For example, the problem with homosexuality isn't just the disordered sexual passion; it's also that fact that many homosexuals were sexually molested in their formative years by an adult. Why wouldn't we want to try to break that cycle of abuse?

Yes, it's past time to suppress the Jesuits again.

If you do a close Catholic reading of Lord of the Rings, it is obvious that Saruman was modeled on a fallen Jesuit.

The business about blessing "irregular couples in a relationship" was peak Jesuitical thinking. "We're not blessing the relationship, but we are blessing the people in the relationship, even though they are sinners, but it has always been possible to bless sinners, and the fact that they remain sinning only highlights the fact that they have a great need of the blessing and those who cannot see the distinction between blessing them and their sin are simply missing the point."

254 All of us are sinners. But we should endeavor to always avoid sin, and to seek forgiveness from Jesus who gave up His life on the cross for our sins. He carried that burden for us, to the point of death and we should always remember that our sins heaped that pain and suffering upon him. That’s also where the message of repentance comes in. I have no problem meeting sinners where they are. But the mission is to have them repent and step away from that sin. It isn’t to make them feel good about it or in some way endorse it. It is to preach the good news that if you repent from that sin you can be saved. That door is open to everyone.

266 My thoughts after skimming the thread:

SALTY, you are welcome to walk into any Adoration chapel when it is open and the red lamp is lit, signifying the Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Just sitting quietly with Him is very healing.
Likewise you could try attending Sunday mass wherever convenient; just don't go up to the front during Communion. Jesus is there too.

ON FAITH - we often conflate faith with belief. The Devil believes in God, he knows God is all-powerful, but the Devil does not have faith. He broke faith with God when he rebelled.

To have faith is to keep faith and be faithful. Our vows and our relationship with our spouse, for example, is meant to be modeled on that. I have faith in my spouse, I keep faith with my spouse, I am faithful to my spouse.

This too is the model of the Church - Christ is the bridegroom and the Church is His bride.

279 There was only one night where a post surgical complication threatened my life, but my deacon was checking up on me and we agreed he should drive me to the ER (I was dopey on OxyContin). Once there I got triaged to the front of the line and immediate action was taken. That action and my deacon, saved my life! Thank you all and thank you God for sending me such people. I have been working through the complications of the after effects of that this week, but I think I’m finally through all that, and have started to live a more normal life while I am on the mend. Thank you Lord!

280 Now, a stablecoin based on a sovereign wealth fund would be a fabulous monetary concept, it would be broader than, say, Tether's stablecoin based on Gold held by Tether since there is more "stuff" in the world besides Gold to be held, it would be more acceptable than a stablecoin based on any crypto since most people mistrust crypto, and it would be unlike the current Treasuries and Federal Reserve notes based on the Treasuries, since in the end they depend on everyone agreeing that they are valuable, and depend on settlement by being able to beat the money out of the US Taxpayer.

They worship power, but they also cloak themselves in (false) virtue.

The lawyers crying that they might be held accountable for their actions, that what goes around might actually come around?

Yard Sign Calvinists. They are of the Elect. You can't touch them. They are Good People, and whatever they do is good. The utterly depraved deserved being railroaded.

A lot of their rage is that their god of power and good intentions is deserting them. Hence the rage and despair.

"This can't be happening to me!" is a familiar refrain.

I was listening to a really enjoyable Eric Weinstein podcast recently and he was gently chiding the host on his atheism. Something interesting that he said is that he thinks a lot of atheist avoid honest conversations about God and religious topics because it's such a threat to their atheism.

Didn't read, but based upon trends I'd guess that guy was trolling local for a wee lad and filming those who caught his eye. I like that I'm supposed to be upset that there are curse words (up to and including the f-word) on billboards, bumper stickers, t-shirts, advertisements, etc., and that kids routinely have their genitalia removed or mutilated by the medical industry, and that millions of black babies are killed in the womb as birth control, but someone says something that I hear stopped at traffic lights or during football/basketball games?

304 I also finally figured out how to sit in a straight backed without pain. I remembered that my late wife used to have lower back pain and would lug a large pillow around with her so she could sit comfortably in a hard chair or church pew. I got a large throw pillow out of one of the leather chairs, and tried it in my straight backed wooden chair at the dining room table. How wonderful! Now I can sit at table and eat a home cooked meal. I had two home cooked meals yesterday after so many weeks of eating sandwiches of a paper plate on my chest while lying flat on my back in bed. I don’t care how good the sandwiches are, you get tired of it! Now that I know the pillow trick, I can go back to attended church services. One of my real regrets was missing Sunday services for Easter where I was supposed to sing an anthem we had been practicing for some time. I also missed communion at the evening service, which I hear was very lovely. My neighbor who sits near me in church said the choir singing for Easter was lovely. Oh well, I am in the bass section, and we were mostly back up singers to the sopranos, altos, and tenors, with lots oh oohs, and multi note ah! ah! ah! type singing.

307 I did get to sing four times with the choir on Palm Sunday and that anthem let the basses take the melody in places. But I was in extreme pain both by the end of the morning service and the evening service. That’s when I started my “sabbatical”. Thank God I can go to church again without enervating pain. It’s not like I wasn’t praying, reading the Bible, and reading my morning devotionals and evening devotionals (Morning & Evening: Daily Readings by C. H. Spaulding, recommended) in the mean time. But communal worship is something we are called to do by God. This Sunday we’ll have communion, and I am looking forward to it, although I won’t sing with the choir (two weeks out of practice - I don’t even know what the descant is - usually composed by our choir director). I think I will be able to rejoin them soon, so there is that as well. Thank You God!
