99 Per Buck's thread earlier, I've been through his thing he talked about a few times.

When I graduated high school, my girlfriend (just like Delilah) made me shave off my mohawk. But even before then, I dressed professionally, even nattily. Yves St. Laurent greatcoat, Bill Blass double-breasted suits from the old school, and Ralph Lauren broadcloth shirts.

I'm way less formal now than when I was 19, even with the mohawk. But I still wear "casual" professional gear to meet people, online and IRL.

I wear shorts and tees when I work on the garden or the car, not in an office. That's weird to do.

It's a silly conceit, and it's usually employed as a fig leaf for a rigorous, almost cult like work environment.

I enjoyed it too. It brought back memories of the last couple of years of my career - I was the 'old guy' who came to work everyday with slacks, collared shirt (plain - no pattern) and loafers. Everyone else was kids with t-shirts and jeans.

I was also the expert who would get called into the manufacturing area, surrounded by worried young faces until I said 'it looks ok'. Then I'd hear them saying 'he said it's ok' all relieved....

Thank you for your comment, but I do NOT enjoy the bat photos even one little bit.

People like Mr. O'Spades are irresponsible purveyors of Russian bat propaganda and should be deplatformed. Bats carry disease, and they cause a lot of disturbances around caves. Their feces are a major source of nitrogen, potassium, phosphorous and other deadly chemicals, and they influence our elections and kill our precious Ukrainians, too.

I hope he posts fewer photos and less information about the Winged Menace, because "the best bat website around" is the same as saying "the worst threat to Our Sacred ~~Killer Clownocracy~~ Democracy."
