India And Pakistan Are Heating Up The Rhetoric, But As Usual, Islamic Terror Is At The Core

It's amazing how much violence is perpetrated by Islamic terror groups that are funded and supported by Islamic nations. But what is more amazing and disheartening is the conspicuous absence of any public linkage in the Western world between Islam and that violence.

It's always blamed on the particular "resistance" group that has some sort of nebulous claim on some disputed patch of land or an ancient slight.

Gaza and Hamas? Oh, that is Israel's control over their land! Lebanon and Hezbollah? The same. Nigeria? Syria? Somalia? Niger? Sudan? Thailand? Benin? UAE? India?

According to "TheReligionOf Peace.com," 182 Islamic attacks in 16 countries in which 1220 people were killed and 802 injured."

In the last 30 days.

Where is the United Nations organization dedicated to the elimination of violence perpetrated by Islam? Where is the world-wide opprobrium directed at Islam?

It doesn't exist because the West buries its collective head in the sand. But when two nuclear powers are involved, it might be time to pull that head out and take a look around at reality.

India and Pakistan again teeter on the brink of conflict over Kashmir

A deadly attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir has again moved India and Pakistan closer to war as the two rivals downgraded diplomatic and trade ties, closed the main border crossing and revoked visas for each other's nationals.
Pakistan has denied it was behind Tuesday's attack that killed 26 mostly Indian tourists at a scenic spot in the Himalayan region, where India claimed it restored a sense of calm despite a decadeslong rebellion. A previously unknown militant group calling itself Kashmir Resistance has claimed responsibility for the attack.

India Accuses Pakistan of Supporting Terrorism [NYT safe link]

After 26 people, most of them tourists, were killed last week in the Indian-administered part of Kashmir, India's government called the massacre a terrorist attack and cited "cross-border linkages" to Pakistan.
A group calling itself the Resistance Front emerged on social media to say it was behind the slaughter. Indian officials privately say the group is a proxy for Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist organization based in Pakistan.

What is the goal? It is in Islam's religious texts, it is in the public pronouncements of most of its terror organizations, and it is seemingly in the hearts of the majority of Muslims. It is not being hidden!

It is simple. The subjugation of the world and the creation of a worldwide Caliphate.

When did that start? Oh... about 1,400 years ago.

Maybe it's time to admit that reality!

There is little, if any, historical documentation of Muhammad contemporaneous to his supposed life compared with that of Jesus Christ.

There is a reason that archaelogy and archealogical sites predating Islamic conquest are often destroyed, desecrated, and otherwise ignored.

In Israel, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, there is often the Muslims repeatedly refusing to allow any archaeology that might destroy Arab myths and prove Jewish existence in Bronze and Iron Age Israel. Much of the archaelogical world has gone along with that simply to preserve sites and their access to them. The case of Jericho is particularly a case where politics overrode evidence in conclusions by a famed archaeologist.

Pete has an odd voice but doesn't really want to sing that much. In fact, he dislikes touring and wanted to stop before Moon's death. But, all the other band members relied on that touring income to finance their rock n roll lifestyle fand caused an increasingly reluctant Pete to sign on to bail them out. And at other times, Pete himself spent too much and needed to tour for the money as he readily admits.

Latest reunion tour in UK had Pete flat out admitting it was for the money for him to pay for a granddaughter's very expensive medical treatment.

Roger is the one much more committed to teh Who, its fans, and its ideals far more than Pete has been since the mid 70's. Who By Numbers makes it clear and Who Are You as a single makes it even more clear. Pete felt that the Who was limiting him as a musical writer at that point and there was nothing much more to say by that vehicle for him.

Commemoratives are a little different than burning and looting Monticello directly or taking all of Jefferson's donations to the Library of Congress and burning them in a pile. Statues come up and down since the Roman times including the Byzantines with their flirting with iconoclasm.

Muslim Brotherhood, on the other hand, views direct destruction of primary historical sites as a positive good and that has not changed for a very long time and they view putting mosques on their rival's holy places as a way to plant the conquest flag in particular.

Even in terms of Darwinian evolution, moral codes make sense as a beneficial adaptation enhancing the survival of the species. It is always a mistake to use defining oneself by what they are not rather than what they believe. Hitchens, I think, defined himself as a Not Christian becuz smart, because he valued his own intellect over his possible salvation.

Pascal, a far smarter man, actually created Pascal's wager that if religion is fake, then you are no worse off in adopting it because the upside is salvation.

Voltaire, a notorious anti religious figure, ended up taking Pascal's wager and confessing in order to return to the faith before dying.

actually the functional concept of morality is based around actions and beliefs that allow societies to operate with minimum conflict for the greatest positive outcome for each individual within the society, gradated outwards from family, neighbors, people around, and outsiders.

The test of this is to find moral concepts that decrease positive outcomes for all elements outside the individual, or deprive individuals of positive outcomes, and if those societies can encompass large social groups or small ones.

This is the positive side of descriptive sociology by the way, outside of the parts that want to be manipulative and programming of society at large.

Still not buying the argument. Most people have an innate sense that murder is wrong. You can say that that is because that is the way God created us, or you can say that it's something that evolved in us over time to enhance the survival of society, and thus the species.

248 Still not buying the argument. Most people have an innate sense that murder is wrong. You can say that that is because that is the way God created us, or you can say that it's something that evolved in us over time to enhance the survival of society, and thus the species.

Either it's an innate something, external to us, which guides us to morality but totally isn't GOD, or it's dependent on society except for the societies where it isn't the case.

I think that "most atheists" sounds good, but in practice once we remove "God" from our moral calculations (whether we're believers or atheists) it gets a LOT easier to go along with anything that we might pretend to believe on paper. Just my experience.

An example of this is in lowland New Guinea, the traditional locals live in very small communities and the inter-group violence is amazingly high. They don't develop large groupings because they don't seem to have the cultural tools to avoid violence with larger groups and outgroup individuals, and their violence in-group is very high as well.

Morality is not unchanging. I mean some of it is pretty solid through the ages, but a lot of it used to only include "our" people, and outlanders need not worry about if they qualify for our mercy.

The meat of it is this: suppose that you and your dog could talk to each other.

What would your dog think that going out for a walk was? Defending and marked his or "the pack's" territory. with all the sniffing and pissing etc. And man, isn't this great!

Or to use another example. People often talk about themselves as fur parents or Mom and Dad to their dog.

But, think about the dog world. Mom and Dad are nothing. As soon as the dog is weaned, it's out the door. So, if you asked the dog, "What am I?". he'd gladly answer, "You're the pack alpha, boss!"
Of course, if you told him "No, Rover, I'm your Mom/Dad." The dog would probably say, "oh....whatevs. Sooooooo, who's the pack alpha around here? Me?"
