BTW, I know some of you don't like Instagram (IG) posts. I'm linking them, though, because it's hard to find good photos on Twitter now. Most searches for "photography" turn up videos and pictures of Japanese "models" and likely prostitutes. (Who are not hot -- so don't bother looking.)

So I go to Instagram to find photos, and wind up finding videos I don't want to waste, so I post them. It's hard to find photos on IG now, too, unfortunately.

I read a scientific paper years ago discussing that very thing. Essentially the first seven to ten years endear the child to the parents so that they'll endure the next seven to ten years until the child is out of the home. Without the heartwarming, wholesome goodness of the infant the teenage and young adult years would be much more likely to cause disruption / failure.

I just stumbled on this last night. In 1948, Werner Von Braun, after he was here in the US, wrote a sci-fi novel on going to Mars and colonizing it. The title in German was "Marsprojekt". Excerpts had been published, but the whole thing wasn't published until some time in the 2000s.

The last time I drove around Atlanta I noticed that it took about 30-40 minutes to make it from one side to the other (north to southern end headed to Gulf Shores in my case).

It was odd to realize that it wasn't much different than living somewhat far away in a rural or semi rural area and needing to drive to town, except for the constant risk, stress, etc.

Does the Monster have a somewhat onerous maintenance schedule, or did they get it under control for that bike? I knew a guy that had a ridiculously fast early 2000s or so sport bike and it was almost laughable how short the intervals for things like valve adjustments were. 187 Does the Monster have a somewhat onerous maintenance schedule, or did they get it under control for that bike? I knew a guy that had a ridiculously fast early 2000s or so sport bike and it was almost laughable how short the intervals for things like valve adjustments were. I could see where that sound and exclusivity almost made it worthwhile, though.

The valve adjustments suck, true. Mine is an air cooled 800 and I'm probably done with the valves ( something like every 8K). I put about a grand a year on it so it'll be another 5 years. Belts are easy pretty much anyone can do those. The other maintenance is like every other bike.

Mine has an Arrow exhaust and you just get addicted to the downshift exhaust note. It's so sweet. The power on and power down sound is just the best. They're not the fastest but the torqur is right in the mid. It hates it below 3000 RPM. And it loves wheelies....

Oh man, I bet it sounds great. I remember even his high strung sport bike was relatively torquey (-ish?) and had to be babied / feathered like crazy or you'd get the front wheel up without even trying. I bet one tuned to have that mid-range is an absolute blast. Enjoy the heck out of that thing.
