Chip Giant Nvidia to Build AI Supercomputer on US Soil for First Time

Make Industry American Again.

NVIDIA announced Monday it will manufacture its AI supercomputers entirely in the U.S. for the first time. New facilities in Arizona and Texas are expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and strengthen supply chain security, according to CEO Jensen Huang.

Key Details:

NVIDIA is partnering with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL to build and test AI chips and supercomputers at new sites in Arizona and Texas. More than a million square feet of manufacturing space has already been commissioned.

Blackwell chip production is underway at TSMC's Phoenix plant, with Foxconn and Wistron facilities in Houston and Dallas set to ramp up supercomputer manufacturing over the next 12 to 15 months.

Huang called the move a first for the company, saying, "The engines of the world's AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time," and emphasized the shift would "strengthen our supply chain and boost our resiliency."

Unrelated: Trump mocked CNN and its Mustachioed Villain Kaitlin Collins. I don't think he's planning to bring the MS-13 gang member back to America any time soon.

We can't build things here because the Environmental Impact study takes seven years, and is then appealed by multiple groups, and then lawsuits are filed.

My school district has spent the past two years determining the new zoning lines to be emplaced upon the completion of the new elementary school. Those zoning lines have been finalized and families notified.

Construction is expected to begin in 2028.

92 The images Spenser Rapone posted on Twitter from his West Point graduation were intentionally shocking: In one, the cadet opens his dress uniform to expose a T-shirt with a blood-red image of socialist icon Che Guevara. In another, he raises his fist and flips his cap to reveal the message: "Communism will win."

Less than a year after Rapone's images drew a firestorm of vitriol and even death threats, the second lieutenant who became known as the "commie cadet" is officially out of the U.S. Army with an other-than-honorable discharge.

Top brass at Fort Drum accepted Rapone's resignation Monday after an earlier reprimand for "conduct unbecoming of an officer." Rapone said an investigation found he went online to advocate for a socialist revolution and disparage high-ranking officers. Officially, the Army said in a statement only that it conducted a full investigation and "appropriate action was taken."

104 Dang but that presser was a beat down!

Saw a clip over the weekend of Barbara from the Shark Tank talking about a deal she was involved in with Trump.
He was selling a property. In desperate need to sell.
He shows up at the meeting with the buyers and ... starts talking about all this other property in NY that was prime for development.
And she was sitting there, shocked, that he was scuttling the deal. Because he wasn't selling the deal on the table.
He was wasting time on all this other stuff.

But, he did sell it. And they bought all those other properties as well.

And she said, Trump has a talent, greater than anyone she's ever seen:
He meets you and he almost instantly sizes up your biggest weakness.

It's been the official US position that Russia started the war since before the US orchestrated the coup which, eventually, lead to Zelensky being in power, ignoring Ukraine shelling the Donbas are, indicating that we were receptive to the idea of Ukraine joining NATO, and giving a sink-and-a-nod to Russia that just the tip was fine.

Totally Russia's fault.

190 I posted over the weekend that I'd finally found out, from reading multiple stories for weeks on this, how he scored the 8 point minimum.

1) 1st, they all said it was just because of a tattoo. Where they laughably claimed it was just a SnapChat ghost. That's 4.
2) Now, they are claiming it was just a CI that identified him. That's 3; he's at 7.
3) One story then added that LE in Prince George identified his rank and position in MS-13. That's 4 more; now at 11.
4) they also said maybe it was because he's just a Bulls fan. (Of course, you know there' s more.) But that's 4 more; he's got 15.

This is the first time I've heard a court actually found him a member of MS-13.
That's 10!

This fucker has up to 25 points out of only 8 needed and they're acting like he's some sort of angel!

But now you know why Salvador isn't going to release him. And is going to keep him in prison.

191 My understanding is that the Maryland MS-13 dude had an immigration judge issue a "do not deport' order several years ago on the basis or a risk of persecution if returned to his home country. The administration's justification for deportation is. that he 1) was in the country illegally and 2) he was an acknowledged active member of M@13 and as such was engaged in criminal activity. This should have superseded the "do not deport" order.

Kind of like violating the terms of a parole.

I saw some numbers that really astonished me, and suggested that we could come out of this alright.

Japan’s experience has confirmed that demographics matter for economic growth, and this will remain the case regardless of whether one looks at Germany, France, China, or any other country. Owing to a rapidly growing workforce and a young population, Japan’s GDP grew from a mere 9% of US GDP in 1960 to 73% in 1995, and its per capita GDP grew from 17% of America’s to 154% in the same period. By 1990, Americans had come to regard Japan as their chief rival, with polls showing that three times more Americans feared the economic threat posed by Japan than the military one posed by the Soviet Union.

Yet Japan’s GDP growth rate has been lower than America’s since 1992. That is when its ratio of working-age people (15-64 years old) to people over 65 began to fall below that of the United States. By then, its median and mean ages were five and three years above America’s, respectively, and its proportion of elderly people had already exceeded America’s the prior year. Its prime-age labor force (aged 15-59) has been declining since 1995, whereas America’s will continue to grow throughout this century. As of 2024, Japan’s GDP had fallen to just 14.5% that of the US, and its per capita GDP had fallen to 38% of the US level.

Anyone who flies all the way to the Czech Republic to spend a week in a secure location "discussing legal matters" with Norm Eisen simply can't be trusted to have America's best interests at heart.

That action bespoke a strong desire for secrecy. I would love to hear Roberts' explanation for it. What, precisely, did they discuss?

261 "... "pompatus" [is a] variant of a word which Miller most likely heard in a song by Vernon Green called "The Letter," which was recorded by the Los Angeles doo-wop group The Medallions in 1954.

Green's "The Letter" as performed by the Medallions had the lines:

Oh my darling, let me whisper
sweet words of pizmotality
and discuss the puppetutes of love.

Green describes the lyrics as a description of his dream woman. "Pizmotality described words of such secrecy that they could only be spoken to the one you loved", Green explained. He coined the term puppetutes "to mean a secret paper-doll fantasy figure who would be my everything and bear my children".

(Green was only 14 years old at the time he wrote the song, which explains a lot.)

As I understand it from late night insomniac reading of random stuff like the Alien wiki.

Weyland-Yutani was a merged British & Japanese firm as the UK & Japan had combined to form a Monarchy-based space empire created by the marriage alliance of the British & Japanese royal families in order to compete with the other space-faring alliances from the future earth which colonized other planets for resources.

So they were probably based in London with a branch office in Tokyo.

Huang taught his roommate how to read in exchange for being taught how to bench press.

After his parents arrived a few years later (again, legally), Huang went back to regular school, where he skipped two grades, belonged to the mathematics, computer, and science clubs, and worked as a busboy on the graveyard shift at Denny's.

BSEE from Oregon State, MSEE from Stanford.

Huang is now worth $114 billion, and provides good-paying jobs for over 36,000 people.

389 By the way you're never going to believe this but the judge who reduced Karmello Anthony's bail from a million to $250k is a black woman who is a huge fan of BLM.

393 324 I enjoyed the look on the face of the President of EL Salvador when Trump was doing the Trump thing to the media. Definite smirk.

395 It's not just Nvidia. The network datacenter industry has been seriously onshoring for the past 4 years, with a brief pause in 2023 as the previous administration caused problems. The company I work for supplies products including Gen-AI systems to major Tier 1 hyperscalers. Our company has invested in 500,000 sq ft of MFG space in Texas (heading to nearly 1 million) and has hired about 100 design engineers to develop products in North America, along with hundreds of MFG staff.

Even more, our company and many others are insisting on having China driven completely out of their supply chain ASAP. This process has been underway for a few years and will be for quite a few years to come due to the unprecedent scale of the disastrous offshoring of circa 2000-2020, but the message is clear and the industry is getting serious about getting the PRC out of their design and major supply cycles.

The industry wasn't quite ready for the huge tariffs which would have been very disruptive, which is probably why Trump agreed to forego the heaviest tariffs on electronics goods for 90 days. It's probably going to be more like late this year before the supply chain is ready in a big way.

396 I think Trump's position is that Russia's demands are the same as they were before the start of the war. Ukraine decided to fight it out on the basis that other people would do the heavy lifting. Other people aren't doing the heavy lifting. Ukraine needs to agree to not be in NATO and stop trying to kill the people of Donbas.

Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who...

Biden green lit a little foray into Ukraine - Putin went for the whole thing. Missed badly. Since then its been a cluster - and the tie in with all the bribery within the Biden crime family certainly hasn't helped give it any clarity.

Putin dragging his feet on a ceasefire should show anyone who says this all about NATO and the Donbas only they need to reconsider. We are quietly putting more weapons in theater, and if reports are correct, a big if, these are more than defensive weapons.
