Mis Hum-
I have voluntarily chosen to forgo my lifelong passion for running with sharp objects. The realities of aging, including diminished visual acuity, slowed reflexes, loss of central balance and essential tremor have led me to realize that I can no longer continue such behavior. I don't want to be "that guy", the one who stabs an old lady in a crosswalk or slices a school kid on a bicycle on our cul-de-sac. Thank you and God bless America. Willowed, feh:
Setting aside the fact that California authorities allowed a known serial child rapist walk free to bugger at will, let's look at how this situation played out. You've got an illegal alien who's raping kids running a soccer team with an all-Spanish website where he recruits fresh meat on FaceTime. That guy gets caught raping THREE other boys on that team before he finally murders one, and none of the parents even bothers to warn the others... the team just keeps going because that vaunted close-knit illegal immigrant community I always hear about just kicked up its collective heels and said "well I guess Mr. Garcia is the next boy's problem now, because I can't have the other mamacitas thinking little Beto is a maricon." And then that close-knit illegal immigrant family put their thirteen year old boy on a train alone in one of the most crime ridden cities in the western world to go get murdered by a creepy pedo they met on FaceTime, because hey - the website is all in Spanish, for los hermanos. You can definitely trust the other shadow people. Tell me again how these people are a benefit to the US? Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at April 12, 2025 07:52 AM (BI5O2) 14

What a weird law. ********* As I understand it, Wyoming does not prohibit shooting wolves. The refusal to release info about the circumstances of death is probably to offer some protection to the rancher who shot the damned thing, from possible retaliation or legal harassment from Colorado. The first wolf that wandered into Wyoming was shot by US Fish and Wildlife officers and that info was publicly released. Regarding the unknown (by CPW) time of death, I can assure them that time of death was roughly 3 seconds after the rancher's bullet entered the wolf's left ventricle. It's a British paper so it must be right. https://tinyurl.com/mr257yvh "Bessent continued to focus his attention on China. Bessent's message drew a wide range of support with MAGA activists who hailed him for successfully articulating the president's agenda. 'Look, I'm not happy with what's going on in the market today, but the distribution of equities across households, the top 10 percent of Americans own 88 percent of equities, 88 percent of the stock market,' he explained to Carlson, adding that 'the next 40 percent owns 12 percent of the stock market.' Bessent noted that all the bottom 50 percent of Americans had was debt, credit card bills, monthly rental bills and auto loans. 'We've got to give them some relief,' he said. 'That's the message right there. Just as a bystander I'm like, wow, okay,' Carlson agreed." Saw the Oscar's Best Picture winner "Anora" last night. Basically it's like someone said "Hey, let's remake "Pretty Woman" only with a sad ending and lots of nekkidness and trashy people." And so they did. "Anora" isn't as porny as it's been made out to be. Ackshewallee, a lot less nudity than the average Skinamax soft porn flick. It's okay. Well shot, well acted, well directed. Well scripted. Nice body on main actress. "Anora" is okay if you've got nothing better to do. Not a "must see". But, no reason to stay if that storyline appeals to you. Guten morgen, Hordevolk. My mom had to cancel taking Pookette last night because the pain is so bad she can barely walk. The last two years have been frustrating for her because she's got a UTI that won"t respond to antibiotics and in the last month, she's been wracked by pain in the area of her intestines. Her doctors have no idea what's wrong or what to do, and even the Mayo Clinic had thrown up its hands in exasperation. Meanwhile, most of my family has cut me off for circumstances I can't change, so it feels like my one connection is in jeopardy. My dad is trying to take care of my mom, but he turned down my offer of sending Pookette over to help. Posted by: pookysgirl, feeling lost and alone at April 12, 2025 08:42 AM (Wt5PA) 92

They didn't say it was a new method, just that it was the perfect method. I used to do the pour-over method one cup at a time, grinding the beans to moderate coarseness, then pouring the water into the filter just enough to saturate the ground beans -- waiting, waiting, waiting -- then doing it repeatedly until the cup was full. But I've gotten lazy and impatient in my old age, so I switched to a Keurig. Posted by: one hour sober at April 12, 2025 08:45 AM (Y1sOo) 98

Most 'normal' people would make a good president. Politicians are a weird breed. Most are a little off to begin with and just get worse as time goes on.
I'm not really sure at this point if the office of the Presidency or governance in general are even capable of being stewarded in any responsible fashion. Because of the layers and layers of laws enacted, the numerous court rulings, the foreign entanglements, the political opposition, and other various factors, it's a very narrow window in which one has to operate. For instance, you could say "well it just makes commoner sense to deport foreign rapists" and you've got judges, officials and congress arguing with you and putting a stop to every action you try to take to improve the country, At this point, there really is nothing much that can be done even by well-meaning people. About the only thing that would be able to rectify the course of things would be a Putin-type of leadership that involved a little bit totalitarianism to jail or expel bad actors through force. The TDS runs strong in some poeple. This with the USCCB announced it was dropping its lawsuit regarding federal money and winding up its refugee resettlement serves. For those who don't know (and I didn't until recent) the USCCB had a side hustle of bringing people from war-torn lands directly to the US, and calling them "refugees." Normal policy (by treaty) is for refugees to go to the nearest safe place so as to facilitate their return once the crisis dies down. The judges who played these games didn't just mess with Trump, they destroyed the quality of life for the feds who had to say goodbye, rearrange work, then re-onboard, issue equipment and then reverse it all AGAIN. Who wants to put up with that? It's like the dude in the El Salvadoran jail. How does the US actually get him back? Are we to invade? These nuts think they can reverse the order of time itself. At the same time that the wanted to exalt the Eucharist and restore veneration for it, they could not bring themselves to excommunicate a Catholic who openly defied their teachings, even mocking it with the sign of the cross, because they wanted their dirty money. And of course we knew what the Pope really cared about. How vile, how utterly cruel to keep people in the shadows, force them into trafficking and then call yourself a charity. What charity? Slavery in a foreign land? I think two factors were decisive. The first was that Trump's people would have turned them inside out during the lawsuit. Discovery would have been painful. I've been favorably impressed with the faith formation he has been getting. It's certainly better than what I got in the 1970s. Good morning all
Please excuse typos. Still blurry close up. Had my cataract surgery on Thursday. Surgery was a piece of cake. Felt great afterwards and could already see without glasses. The shock was when I couldn't read anything at all. I opted for Toric lenses for perfect vision in right eye, mid range in left. Right eye is perfect Left eye still a little swollen. I can read this on my iPad but still can't see anything on my phone. Saw surgeon yesterday and will probably need those cute half ending glasses but won't know for maybe a week or two. In the meantime I should get the readers I ordered from Amazon today.for temp solution I hope. When most of one's entertainment comes via the internet being unable,to read is frustrating as hell. Weird part was I could see TV fine. I love you all. Your thoughts and prayers were greatly appreciated.May be scarce for awhile longer. The Constitution is not a suicide pact. Posted by: San Franpsycho at April 12, 2025 09:00 AM (RIvkX) --------- Agreed. It is merely the best-conceived roadmap for a free people to govern itself that has ever graced this planet. It was written by humble, yet imperfect men who were no doubt blessed with much Divine guidance and inspiration. Since its writing/enactment, the resulting human progress in both this country and the world has been unparalleled in any compable multi-millennial span in human history. But it requires a God-fearing people to sustain it. We've seemingly lost the civic and moral discipline to sustain the Constitution, and we're too addicted to our own comfort to hold our elected officials responsible to adhere to it's constraints. Nor do we hold educators responsible for truthfully teaching the wonders of this document. We bemoan them using it as toilet paper, but refuse to get in their faces. Perhaps that is changing now - time will tell. But the Constitution requires We, the People to save it - not a dictatorial leader. Posted by: Retired Buckeye Cop is now an engineer at April 12, 2025 09:06 AM (pJWtt) --- Yes, and what a grave scandal they brought upon themselves. The other was that when they asked for private contributions to make up the difference, they got nothing. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at April 12, 2025 09:11 AM (ZOv7s) I agree. (2/2) I voluntarily give the bishops nothing. I make substantial offerings to my parish's Poor Box, and certain religious orders.
"Catholic" Relief Services gets nothing. I suspect that the bishops assuaged their consciences by telling themselves how they were helping poor people. Of course, importing millions of migrants puts upwards pressures on the costs of housing, medical care and social services --- AND puts downward pressures on the wages of unskilled and semi-skilled workers. I doubt Jesus Christ is going to be persuaded by many of the bishops' excuses come the time of their Particular Judgments. So, by reading several stories in my HateFeed from the left, I've finally figured out how the Salvador MS-13 was confirmed as a member.
To be very clear: Every story is lying and saying there was only one piece of evidence. False. There are at least 3; that got him the 8 points. 1) most stories only say a confidential informant named him. That's only 3 points. "credible testimony/statements of ... informants" 2) Rarely, and mostly at the beginning, they said it was only his tattoos, that the "ghost" was because he was a SnapChat fan. They stopped that. But that's 4 points, "tattoos denoting membership/loyalty" 3) Now, finally, the third. Prince George County law enforcement had identified his rank and position in MS-13. That's 4 points "law enforcement reporting ... identifying subject as a member" 4) there may be more, they now say he was merely wearing his Chicago Bulls hoodie. But, "subject displays ... dress known to indicate allegiance" That's four points. And at least one of those occurred within the last 5 years. That's 11 points (possibly 15) he scored out of 8 needed. Posted by: People's Hippo Voice at April 12, 2025 09:33 AM (LInZf) 192

It took 40 years to get here. Let's be a little patient. A lot has happened in three months that no one ever thought could be achieved. We're getting spoiled by all our victories and no longer treasuring or savoring them. That, in and of itself, is a sin.
I guess I'm just a little more Eeyore about things than you are. I don't see a lot of "victories". We appear headed towards another Middle East entanglement, we have raised the debt ceiling, passed budgets with the same funding for the same programs, we have yet to see the destruction of the Dept of Education, we have yet to see the end of conflict with Russia, no one has gone to jail for Russia-gate, no one has been held accountable for gain-of-function virus research, and on and on. I thank the President for securing the release of J6 political prisoners. But now even that has been tainted as it appears that the head of the J6 inquisitions appears headed for a promotion, I'll cross fingers. I'll say a prayer and light a candle. I'll wish upon a star. My dad makes one mention of such a raid, in his diary: 29 Mar 1944 Another minor daylight raid but we still got 5 planes. 194th [FA Bn] started on a house wrecking program. Fired 30+ rds into their first house. Then 141st [FA Bn] shot around 20 to finally knock the house down. One plane bombed the hospital (56th) during the night. 65 known casualties. Posted by: Attention Deficit American at April 12, 2025 09:45 AM (BRYXc) --- I would posit that you are not really looking for them. You have picked various items that are not easily achieved and must necessarily take time, and you refuse to acknowledge that these things move move in a progression. Let's take prosecutions. Who would be prosecuting people if the cases were announced today? That would be their buddies. Who would try the cases? The same judges that enabled the abuse. So if you want those people punished, you must first appoint people who will do a good job, and then discipline the judges who will hear the cases. The same is true with the other aspects. The Dept. of Education is being dismantled. It cannot officially go away, but it has effectively been shut down. USAID is actually gone. That is a huge win, and I urge you to look through how much money was being laundered through it and send directly to Act Blue and its terrorist arms. There is nothing like looking if you want to find something. If you want to find good news, you must first look for it. How many here knew about Planned Parenthood's clinics closing? One can make the argument that no man is fit to rule, and you'd get no argument from me. The representative republic is not the best-conceived form of government.
We know this because the governance of Heaven monarchical. One can make the argument that no man is fit to rule, and you'd get no argument from me. But the odds of finding one moral man to rule is still greater than finding an entire society of men that behaves in a moral fashion. The odds decrease even more significantly when the governance created by such men insists on the separation of morality and state. Posted by: Attention Deficit American at April 12, 2025 09:54 AM (BRYXc) --------- We don't reside in Heaven - we reside on a planet populated by humans who are imperfect and sinful by their very nature. The Founders deeply understood this fact and it guided their thoughts on how best to constrain a government comprised of imperfect humans. The Constitution does not prescribe the separation of morality and State. That is the lie Progressives have foisted upon us by unending repetition. It separates "Church" and State so that no single religion/denomination is given political control. But it absolutely supports the individual's right to pursue morality according to their own free will. Posted by: Matthew Kant Cipher at April 12, 2025 10:09 AM (kOluj) 225

A big draw here in my rural neck of the woods are "food trucks." Ubiquitous elsewhere but a recent phenom here. Those run by illegals, and there are a few, have a significantly different perception of sanitation and quality control than you'd typically find around here. And there's really no oversight for them other than a periodic health inspection... sometimes not even yearly.

Posted by: Attention Deficit American at April 12, 2025 09:54 AM (BRYXc) --- The validity of our form of government is still open to doubt. It has required repeated fundamental changes to the point that one can (and many do) that the Republic as originally constituted no longer exists. Whether one picks 1865, or 1913, or 1933 or 1963 is beside the point. Monarchies have endured and may return because we are now seeing that late-stage democracy is far crueler than any monarchy. King would not have survived if he flooded his ream with foreigners. A cousin of the blood would quickly be found or a new dynasty founded. We don't reside in Heaven - we reside on a planet populated by humans who are imperfect and sinful by their very nature.
This is a good post-fall understanding. However....the Lord did institute the divine kingship here on earth in the garden. It was man, tempted by Satan, who desired self-governance on earth. So we can't really pretend that the divine kingdom is some otherworldly system of governance, somehow separated from this planet. A decent refutation of my view would probably be to reference Samuel, when the Israelites demanded an earthly King, abandoning the Lord as their King. This might dispute the value of an earthly king and identify its imperfection, however, it still doesn't do much good in dispelling the notion that the ultimate FORM of governance is a divine monarchy, not a representative republic. Our denomination tried to take a leftward tilt a few years ago (dang Canadians). It didn't work, because the "progressive" churches are dying while the conservative churches are growing. Therefore the conservatives outnumber the progressives *and* are repopulating because the LGBTQWERTY crowd doesn't procreate (yes I know they recruit but it's not the same thing). It's not perfect but it's better than a dying denomination. Posted by: pookysgirl, wimning the nap war at April 12, 2025 10:31 AM (Wt5PA) 258

This might dispute the value of an earthly king and identify its imperfection, however, it still doesn't do much good in dispelling the notion that the ultimate FORM of governance is a divine monarchy, not a representative republic. Posted by: Attention Deficit American at April 12, 2025 10:29 AM (BRYXc) ------- I hear what you are saying. My thoughts on this matter are not as developed as on the Constitution. While I believe God exists in our world, it seems to me that He allows each of us free will to find our way to Him and ultimately recognize His kingship over the universe. But it is clear that not everyone sees this or has found their way to Him. So are you advocating that humans should not attempt governnance in light of an all-powerful God? That seems to preempt the gift of free will. If we accept that humans will institute some form of governance among themselves, I see no historical precedent that has better served humankind than our Constitution. It has not been perfect - nothing human can be. It's success requires a populace with strong moral underpinnings. Our country feels lost because weak morality has led us to ignore the constraints of a well-drawn map. Posted by: Matthew Kant Cipher at April 12, 2025 10:58 AM (kOluj) 295

We don't reside in Heaven - we reside on a planet populated by humans who are imperfect and sinful by their very nature.
---------- I reside in the USA. It's heaven to a large majority of people in this world. A place full of "perfect" people sounds boring. Posted by: Dr Pork Chops & Bacons at April 12, 2025 11:01 AM (g8Ew8) 297
The family owners of nearby mexican food truck - which is a 20 foot trailer - seem to make a lot of money. I know they own and operate at least 2 trailers. They keep them spic n span. upscale prices.
All of the family drive expensive cars and trucks. Named trucks like a Ford Arachnid (has a huge chrome spider badge on front quarter-panel.) One of the daughters owns a trick named Camero. The patriarch drives a Mercedes Benz panel van. Son drives a F250 named power stroke with a vertical rally stripe on the rear panel. The 20 something young daughter is 100% American. It's not a drug front. Posted by: 13times at April 12, 2025 11:03 AM (Vuj8R) 298

============ Greetings, Eromero ... If you're looking to supplement your diet with "mashed" proteins, you could try stirring baby food meats (little jars) into microwave-ready mashed potatoes (such as Bob Evans) ... You might also be able to "powderize" store-bought bacon bits by whizzing them in a spice grinder.
