The Golden Emperor Trump Hath Decreed That We Shall All Have Full-Pressure Shower Heads Again, and the People Rejoiced, For It Was Good

The New York Times whines:

Trump Repeals Biden-Era Limit on Water Flow in Shower Heads

President Trump, who has waged a long-running battle against low water pressure, signed an executive order that redefined a common bathroom fixture.

I mean, he repealed Obama's executive order, which redefined the shower heads.

How long does it take you to wet your hair in the shower? A few seconds? A minute?

The president of the United States, who has long complained about being unable to coax more than a dribble or trickle of water from his showers, says it takes him much longer.

"I like to take a nice shower to take care of my beautiful hair," President Trump said on Wednesday in the Oval Office. "I stand under the shower for 15 minutes until it gets wet. It comes out drip, drip, drip. It's ridiculous."

Much of the world was focused at that moment on his trade war, but Mr. Trump wanted to talk about showers. He offered this insight while signing an executive order to loosen restrictions on water flow from American shower heads. The order directs Energy Secretary Chris Wright to rescind a definition of shower heads first implemented by President Barack Obama.

It is the second time that Mr. Trump as president has attempted to redefine a shower head. A rule he introduced in his first term drastically increased the amount of water that showers with multiple nozzles could use. The Biden administration later reversed that change.

"No longer will shower heads be weak and worthless," the White House said in a news release on Wednesday.

How big of an issue is this, really? And how many ways can you define a shower head?

For Mr. Trump, it has been a long-running crusade.

He has railed for years against low water pressure in bathrooms, an issue in some New York City high-rises. During his first term in the White House, he lamented that his showers did not supply enough water for him to achieve his "perfect" hair, part of a campaign against what he described as excessive government regulation.

"You take a shower, the water doesn't come out," he said in 2020. "You want to wash your hands, the water doesn't come out. So what do you do? You just stand there longer or you take a shower longer? Because my hair -- I don't know about you, but it has to be perfect. Perfect."

At a dinner with Republican leaders in 2023, he repeated his complaint: "You know I have this gorgeous head of hair -- when I take a shower, I want water to pour down on me. When you go into these new homes with showers, the water drips down slowly, slowly."

The left's entire mission can be boiled down to let's fuck with people for almost no reason, just to show that we can, just to feel powerful in our impotence, just to dominate people who are better and stronger than we are.

And they're consistently baffled when the people revolt because they don't like anti-productive busybodies constantly fucking with them to prove that they have Power over other people.

Mr. Trump's new order restores language from a 1992 federal law, enacted to conserve water, that prevented new American-made shower heads from spritzing more than 2.5 gallons of water per minute. Some states, including California and Colorado, as well as New York City, have imposed their own lower rates.

As showers with multiple nozzles became more common, the Obama administration ordered the 2.5-gallon limit to be applied to each shower head, not each nozzle.

Toward the end of Mr. Trump's first presidential term, he set out to redefine what constitutes a shower head.

Previously, it had been defined in federal regulations as "any plumbing fitting designed to direct water onto a bather," meaning that a unit with multiple nozzles counted as a single shower head.

Trump changed the definition back to what it used to be. The Times brands this some kind of activist invasion into people's right to have low water pressure in their showers.

Trump also announced an investigation into first-term leaker Miles Taylor, who posted anonymously as the media proclaimed him to be a high-level official. In fact, he was a low-level drone.

He also ordered an investigation into this guy:

Merissa Hansen
@merissahansen17

BREAKING: Donald Trump signs Executive Order to launch investigation into CISA's former head Chris Krebs, whom he fired on November 17, 2020 shortly after Krebs and his agency, alongside other election officials, issued a statement on November 12, 2020, declaring the 2020 presidential election "the most secure in American history," directly contradicting Trump's claims of widespread voter fraud.

CISA is the alleged "cybersecurity" agency that was so frequently involved in censoring Americans.

One of the most consequential executive orders of his presidency:

Iowanians were precluded from fireworks after a small boy apparently lit off something at a store, the resulting fire was not contained and eventually, the entire small town burnt to the ground.

There are actually vintage fireworks collectors. As you might imagine they are very rare. The graphics on the packages are excellent, the “golden age” being the 1920s thru the 1970s.

Second, how is it saving water if it takes seventeen minutes to rinse the soap off of you because the water pressure is about the force of a leaf falling from a tree? I need water pressure, so I feel clean and get a nice massage from the water, I want to feel the water hit my body, not a soft mist that chokes me off.

Well, you see, the Constitution lets the Federal government manage navigable waterways, and the water from your shower is drawn from, and flows to, those waterways. Also, water is bottled and sold, making it a national trade commodity, and the Federal government is empowered to regulate interstate trade, so they can manage your shower head flow, and what crops you plant, and in what amount.

First off, I have been traveling some lately and hotels have a severe problem with mounting shower heads at chest level. Now, granted, I'm a little taller than average but this stuff is aimed at a hobbit. Showers are supposed to come from ABOVE you, not hit you in the midsection.

How is this so difficult to work out??

Waste heat costs power. If you can touch the LED bulb and not go OW it is more energy efficient.

A bright incandescent was a 100 Watts. Power is sold in kW/hour units so one bulb left on uses a tenth of one, so not negligible.

259 This is how you know intuitively that the Democrat Party doesn’t believe in democracy. They started by limiting the amount of water you can use in your shower head and toilet. When people took longer showers or flushed the toilet multiple times, states like NY were next moving to limiting the amount of water you could use depending on household size.

This is called tyranny, and it’s only the beginning of what they want. They showed it again during COVID. It’s evident in elections and everything else they do. You might hope at some point people would understand this. They won’t change. They will hide and then strike once they get power again.

310 Yeah a lot of "green" stuff isn't as efficient or good as it claims, and is often not worth the cost. Solar Power cells for example, cost a lot give small power flow, and have to be replaced every few years because they are broken down by the sun, hilariously. But LEDs do really cost less to run, last a hell of a lot longer, and do end up saving money over time. I have some bulbs I've used regularly every day for years.

——-

That isn’t efficiency, I had electric heat in Iowa 9 months out of the year. An incandescent bulb is 100% efficient.

If you are talking energy consumption you might have a point.

See also: Electric dryers. An “energy star” dryer that takes 3 times as long yet “uses 1/3rd less energy” uses the same juice. Just not peak load, which is what utilities look at. They don’t want to build more power plants.

385 If you've ever spent time in a British househld, you'll notice some very strange things:

-- Vacuum cleaners are laughably weak and feeble. They barely can suck up any dust. Doesn't matter the brand, or the size, or the style. They're all weak as shit.

-- Washing machines are an absolute joke. They're all front-loaders (I hate front-loaders), and all take something like 2 or 3 or as much as 5 hurs to do a tiny load. And when the "washing" is done--nothing h=is actually cleaned. Why? Because they're all "low flow"m"eco" "green" washing machines that dribble a few tablespoons of lukewarm water over the clothing and intermittedly tumble them a few times.

I've asked resident why this is the case, and learned to my horror that powerful vacuum cleaners and normal-strength washing machines ARE ILLEGAL IN BRITAIN. Why? Because they aren't "green" enough and cause "climate change.

What a garbage nation.

450 A lot of the bitching about washing machines that don't work has to do with detergents that don't work.
IIRC, phosphates are verboten in any useful amount, so dishwashers and clothes washers appear to not work.

Someone here a couple years ago pointed out where a phosphate additive could be had online. Said it made all the difference.

451 Don't try to sneak a TV into your house eather. The BBC taxes every TV, and they have roaming TV sensor trucks who cruise around looking for unlicensed TVs so that they can fine your ass.

Which is why California's Reds hate Prop. 13. They'd love to stick it to the bourgeoisie (i.e., the middle class), but Prop. 13 impedes their efforts.

Fun Fact: There is just as much water as there always has been. No I take that back there is more water everyday.

455 San Francisco...didn't they just put some structuring law into effect on speeding tickets? You pay an amount reflective of your wealth. I honestly thought it was parody. But, nope...someone thought it was a good idea.

Utility bills are the same now that the commies are emboldened. More you earn the more you pay per KW.

Study shows that people stay in the shower longer with lo flow to clean off gunk than a higher flow. Net is no savings of water. Similar to lo flo toilets requiring two flushes don't save water either.

Most water run through both showers, faucets, toilets is recycled btw via sewage treatment plants.

Only situation where you lose freshwater in the system is via septic fields for individuals which are rare in most urban areas.

457 Oh good, I'm not paranoid. Thanks for that. I actually drive 35 miles away from my home to a gas station that still sells leaded, non-ethanol gas. Big farming area, so I think that's why it's allowed.

Nope, not illegal per se in most jurisdictions. Sunoco is one and Quik Trip is another gas chain that sell gas without alcohol but not necessarily every station. Think there is actually an online finder for non alc gasoline or was.

FWIW, Star Brite additive, usually sold at Autozone among other places works pretty well with 4 cycle gas engines as a fuel stabilizer for alcohol containing gas. Comes in a clear bottle.

459 This design is steller! You obviously know how to keep a reader
amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start
my own blog (well, almost...HaHa!) Great job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
Too cool!
