That ain't no centaur.
A centaur is a horse body and human head and torso. I particularly liked the centaurs in Piers Anthony's Xanth novels.... invariably full breasted females and who never saw the point of clothes. Much hilarity with the young men protagonists, of course. Posted by: SimoHayha at April 10, 2025 07:52 PM (qXL9c) 15

You might think, Varus before his unfortunate end in the Teutoberger, or maybe Germanicus... ... but this was the third century. So was it Severus Alexander? Maximinus Thrax? tinyurl.com/3uj58wew ...archaeology.org is further noticing a Roman presence along the Lippe river, which feeds the Rhine from its east. - I'm calling it right now. Keep an eye on Harley Davidson. Their CEO just abruptly retired, and I won't be at all surprised to learn that they've been importing lots of parts and maybe even outright full motorcycles / engines to sell in America that they've been building in Taiwan and other oriental countries under the auspices of avoiding European tariffs. Have some employees here to keep up appearances, but I'm betting buyers are going to start noticing tariff driven price increases and wonder why that is. My donkey story evolved a breaved donkey. Driving to a friend's house their neighbors lost one of their "mated " donkeys.
The poor animal raced across the pasture to the fence we were by. It braying as loud as it could. You could feel the emotional loss it had suffered. It then would stamp it's feet and bray some more. All we could do is speak soothing words to it. We weren't about to try and pet it in it's current state. I sometimes wonder how it got along. - Addendum: After an appropriate trial, of course. I'm not an uncivilized monster. I'm trying to think. Is there anything more important than the integrity of the vote and our systems established to count the vote? I know we can nibble around the edges with things like the 1st Amendment, but if the vote isn't secure and trustworthy than nothing else matters, does it? Because it can be compromised without much effort by the people who compromised the vote-counting. Bad Hombre @joma_gc A congressional staffer reached out confirming that Representative Don Bacon was severely intoxicated and under the influence of the prescription sleep aid Zolpidem when he launched a bizarre and angry tirade on X late last night. The outburst was initially directed at investigative journalist Laura Loomer but quickly spiraled into attacks on his own constituents. According to the staffer, Bacon began consuming large quantities of mezcal in his office around 8:00 PM. His agitation intensified after noticing that Loomer had quote-posted and significantly ratioed his original messages. The witness reports that Bacon erupted into multiple expletive-laden rants and repeatedly shouted “Slava Ukraini!”—a behavior so erratic it prompted a concerned passerby to knock on his office door. At one point, Bacon reportedly leapt from his chair, collapsed to his knees, and knocked over a flag pole. Posted by: gKWVE at April 10, 2025 09:43 PM (gKWVE) 222

The degradation of good order and discipline over the last 15 years or so must be something else. Won’t get fixed overnight. But these people need to be expunged. Incompatible with military service. I don't recognize the name of that particular sleep drug but I know secondhand that alcohol and Ambien are a bad combination. My wife's boss once mash-called another one of his younger female employees and didn't remember a thing. A coworker of mine came out one morning and found his Harley parked in a different place than he left it. I'm 95% certain that's what Patrick Kennedy was on when he crashed his car in DC in the middle of the night and said he was on his way to a vote. You guys will laugh at this (and probably not believe me), but I have this stuff called Bobbex Deer Spray. All natural, no chemicals. I just spray it around the garden area like an invisible fence and it freakin works.
I used to have a hard time keeping them out of the sweetcorn. They love the silk on an ear of corn, not the corn itself. But, since I started using this spray to form a boundary they don't come close. Too busy up in the orchard eating apples off the ground now. Posted by: Orson at April 10, 2025 09:59 PM (dIske) 246
