Subtracting two months from the duration from the outbreak let them claim that it was spreading far more rapidly and was scarier than it actually was.
We've know since the San Diego serology study in March (?) 2020 that far more people had been exposed to it than the government was acknowledging, which would have pushed the case fatality rate down by a couple of orders of magnitude, but people preferred to be scared.

I expect there were at least a half dozen faction leaders setting the erratic policies, with Jill Biden picking who won on each particular issue and releasing Biden to play the muppet for their win. it is a scandal that who was who and how many arent generally known. That's too bad. I believe it did hit the vulnerable particularly hard. I'm pretty darn sure my grandmother in her 90s had it in late 2019 -- she had a flu/cold that she could not shake and she finally said "Take me to the ER." She was in the hospital on fluids and such for about a week and in the end they could only diagnose her with some vague flu/virus. Fortunately, she recovered completely. AND she got it again in 202? and recovered with barely any symptoms in 2 days.

Written before, late summer/early fall a woman (>60, great condition) who attended a local (Philly region) zumba class vacationed in Europe twice within a month. One of the two vacations was definitely to Italy; Milan, Isle of Capri, etc.
Upon her return to the US, she was exhausted but thought it might be a normal reaction. Within days, she was being studied by physicians in a variety of fields including cardiology, lungs, brain, and ophthalmology. There were no answers to her overwhelming weakness, headaches. Months passed.
She was finally about to return class March 2020. That very day, we were dismissed right after arriving & instructed not to return for "2 weeks."
The entire county closed March 13th and remained closed for more than 15 months. When opened, it was with restrictions. The 1st case in the collar counties was to have began when a physician returned to Montgomery County from China. The 2nd began by an associate going to my (Delware) county's prison.
Way too strange to ever believe the feds.

To this day I'd like to see a tremendously high-dollar and well-prepared law firm file a legal appeal for somebody who was convicted in a court hearing where the defendant and all those who testified against the defendant were masked.
One of the principles of a fair trail in this country is that we're supposed to get to face our accusers. This principle was not followed once the defendant and those testifying were masked-up. No, I'm not kidding. Juries like to believe they can read faces and that it helps them discern truthful words from fiction. I've never felt right about those who were convicted during the masking era.

The information on the bat studies disappeared from their webpage in the summer or early fall, if I recall. August or September.
So I'd say it's safe to say that by then they were well aware that the virus was out in the wild.

You will find Fauci, USAID and the Clinton Foundation.
Remember when Fauci made his mysterious trip to the CIA in the middle of the virus response and we found out the CIA analysts were paid to change their analysis from the lab to bat soup at a Chinese Boston Market?

Trump talked about opening the nation for Easter while at the exact same moment he was physically signing 30 more days to slow the spread, which extended the lock down past Easter Sunday...

Instead, what it did was tell people the exact same things that 15 Days to Slow the Spread and 30 Days to Slow the Spread did. If you meet these criteria, you can be open, if you meet these criteria, you must close down or remain locked down.
