114 My father’s father was old and sick when I knew him, and he died in 1973 so I never knew him well. But he had worked as cowpuncher in WyomIng when he was young, and was raised on a farm in South Dakota. I was amazed when I learned a family story about him years later - when he was about 19, sometime in the 1910’s, he was stuck in Wyoming but wanted to go back to S.D. To see his family for Christmas. So he just got on his horse and rode it from near Caspar to Sisseton - a trip of nearly 800 miles. Made it in time, too, although I don’t know how many days he rode. Ballsy thing to do!

We got to talking, and we knew what pro was, and we knew what biotic was, but no one could really nail down what probiotic meant. So we looked it up.

One of my favorite true Southern stories. I personally know the man and saw barrel and the porch:

I knew a guy who kept a half barrel that normal people used to use for decorative purposes on his front porch. Elevated front porch leading to the door of his double wide. Three steps up.

Anyway, he'd throw his loose chamge from his pocket into that barrel every day. One day that barrel was getting about half full, and when he got home he did what he always did. Except this time a few dimes and pennies caused the porch corner to collapse and the barrel of money to dump out into the yard.

I love this place and these people.

236 Anyway, he'd throw his loose chamge from his pocket into that barrel every day. One day that barrel was getting about half full, and when he got home he did what he always did. Except this time a few dimes and pennies caused the porch corner to collapse and the barrel of money to dump out into the yard.

I love this place and these people.

A guy in Washington was rumored to have done that with some sort of metal drum on his second floor, he threw his change in it. Once day it broke the floor and plunged to the first floor. He said the ceiling seemed to be bulging a little but he didn't think it was important.

They oftentimes don’t believe say, a human life is more important than a bug, or a tree or a rock. They don’t believe in good or evil, none of the western tradition. Life is pointless, and meaningless. So (apparently) that’s the world they want to create. In the interim, they want to kill you, and take all your stuff, I guess. Very anti-human at its core. That’s how you get empty reservoirs in California, and prioritizing baitfish, stuff like that, incidentally, is my hypothesis.
