Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Texas AG Ken Paxton Announces Challenge to Supercuck RINO John CornynCornyn is one of the group of eight or so liberal Republicans who vote against conservative priorities. And when they do vote for those priorities, it is only because an intense pressure campaign has convinced them they are putting their careers at risk if they refuse. Thom Tillis, for example, whines that he was pressured to vote for Trump's nominees, and not-so-secretly schemed to get Pete Hegseth's brother's ex-wife (this sounds like the Spaceball joke) to come forward and make unfounded accusations against Hegseth to give him cover to vote against Hegseth. In the end, Tillis voted for Hegseth -- but only because MAGA informed him that his senate seat was in danger if he didn't. That's the same kind of McCain bullshit that Cornyn has been doing for decades now. Yet he claims, preposterously, that he's Fighting For President Trump and Paxton is the guy trying to undermine Trump: Give me a break. At least one recent poll from Texas Public Opinion Research gives Paxton a 10-point edge over Cornyn for the time being.Cornyn is one of Mitch McConnell's loyalists. And speaking of: McConnell just voted against another Trump nominee, in an act that JD Vance called out as the "one of the great acts of political pettiness" from McConnell. Give me money, China. Some background that may be helpful, and may explain Traitor Pussy McConnell's "a la carte" comment.
About a year ago Dan Blumenthal and Elbridge Colby had a discussion hosted by Peter Robinson. My take (from my notes at the time) was: Bridge argued that we had to face reality and give up the "two theater" approach because we can not do it and will lose both. His argument was that we need the allies to step up, we can convince Japan, Taiwan, etc. that even though we abandoned Ukraine, we will not abandon them, and that we just don't have the capabilities Pussy Bitch McConnell seems to think we should spend all our money fighting in Ukraine forever. 80 "Trump says 90 day pause on tariffs."
Watch MAGA turn on a dime and full-throatedly praise this as a genius 4D chess move. Posted by: Lithiated Uh...it is? He (and other presidents) have said the US gets ripped off in trade, other countries have high tariffs and regulatory restrictions on US goods, but they have no incentive to change them. Trump slaps on huge tariffs, all nations (but China) rush to negotiate lowered tariffs and restrictions on US goods...the US wins. Even better, it allows us to more fully engage China in an economic war while other countries can now pick up the slack in production for us (and consumption of our goods as well). I don't think Trump wanted super-high tariffs on all foreign goods forever...it was a negotiating tactic to force people to the table. And it worked. Now, those countries need to put up actual, tangible changes, or they know they'll get slammed in 90 days...and the nations that DO cooperate will take their business and thrive instead. Posted by: Octochicken Nope. Hegseth has enough on his plate removing woke generals and officers and fixing the war fighting problems. There always was and is a planning division that tries to figure out who the likely adversaries are and what they are likely to do relative to what we can do to counter them. US for a long time had a policy of being able to fight two peer adversaries at the same time. That went to the 1.5 strategy during the Obammy years where we could fight a peer like China or the USSR plus someone like the Norks at the same time. Now, with a vastly depleted fleet, troops of dubious quality as far as training, withered logistics, etc. the DoD needs to realistically recalculate what is needed to fight a war if necessary against a peer rival like China as well as other contests. If we are aiming at moving beyond the Cold War paradigm, that might mean more long reach assets than infanty. Posted by: whig at April 09, 2025 01:49 PM (ctrM5) 234

Posted by: Archimedes at April 09, 2025 01:45 PM (xCA6C) CCP collapses in a shambles. Three or Four breakaway states develop and get locked into brutal four-way war. Most of the money flees. Taiwan declares independence as the real, official Republic of China (as it's always been), and carves off some territory from the weak and desperate and suddenly poor mainland factions. Probably absorbs Hong Kong too, or at least recognizes their independence. Russia leaves Ukraine alone in a brokered peace so they can desperately man the border against swarms of refugees.... None of this is particularly implausible, is it? Posted by: Warai-otoko at April 09, 2025 01:51 PM (VoAdT) 246

Three or Four breakaway states emerge. They all think they have nukes. They go to inspect them, and it's just a bunch of aluminum tubes in the ground and fake control cabinets, because the CCP oligarchs already sold them off and pocketed the money for themselves a long, long time ago. 394 I'd like to see some shit product manufacturing go to Africa, but I've read that getting things from the interior to the ports of that country is geographically, not just infrastructurally, extremely difficult. One of the things that may have retarded Africa's development over the millennia.

If at first you don't succeed . . .
Gerhardt Konig's wife, Arielle Konig, 36, says they were hiking in Honolulu last month when he grabbed her, pushed her towards the edge of a cliff, attempted to inject her with a syringe and then bashed her head with a rock, Arielle wrote in a petition for a temporary restraining order against him. During the struggle, she said he took a syringe from his bag and tried to inject her. 'I do not know what was in the syringe, but Gerhardt is an anesthesiologist and has access to several potentially lethal medications as part of his employment,' she said, adding that she bit his arm in an attempt to defend herself. He appeared to calm down, but then grabbed a nearby rock and 'began bashing me repeatedly on the head with it,' she said. >> Do you think the Trump administration knows that, or nahhhh?
Know it? Yes. How are they addressing it? They are pausing tariffs on those countries while we negotiate. That is while China shovels more through those routes because the front door is closed. We buy some really stupid shit from china, like brooms and gloves and napkin holders. Maybe other shithole countries finally realized that they can produce that stuff to, better than china, and sell it to the USA. Posted by: Soothsayer at April 09, 2025 02:05 PM (A1wUB) I haven't watched it yet, but in the yootoob music world Rhett Shull just put up a video about how the Trump tariffs are going to destroy the guitar industry. I'm not sure what his take is, but I can guess. And it'll be utter horseshit, because guitars are durable goods, used for years, also while Chi-Nah makes the cheap guitars (and surprisingly, they're often fairly well made, but the problem with them is the weird woods and wood treatments they use), other craphole nations like Indonesia and Vietnam build low-to-medium end guitars that are quite nice for the price. Certainly better quality than the Japanese guitars I learned on when I started noodling over 40 years ago. Posted by: IllTemperedCur at April 09, 2025 02:19 PM (y9nCu) 412
