101 CBD, Thanks for using an Andrew Wyeth to day. The loose, grainy style he uses here is perfect for the worn wood and plaster textures. The hard light (perhaps from a missing window or a hole in the wall) brings out those textures and shadow that add depth. The sense of age, damage and wear comes through with the birds fluttering in the attic room. Anyone who has seen such old structures in need of repair (raises hand) would recognize the image.

It's a simple scene done in muted colors but Wyeth conveys depths of feeling, of a story. A home that was constructed to be lived in. It's abandoned now. What happened? Where did the residents go and why did they leave? And underneath the last question: can it be restored or will it continue to deteriorate?

The stories Wyeth invokes in his paintings, without screaming about it, is one of the reasons I enjoy his work so much.

102 Usually, encasing a chimney or foundation with concrete coat means the original mortar is failing. Seen this a lot with old houses. Buyer beware.

156 I have never liked Marco Rubio, but now he is showing his true colors for all the world to see. He is an ass-licking bigot who only cares about power. He has no soul.

We can see by Rubio's demeanor he doesn't believe or agree with a word he is saying. Makes him even more heinous.

He's very much like Lindsey Graham. Both of them were very down on Trump before he was elected; now they just go down on Trump. They are weak, opportunistic men who quickly realized that their presidential aspirations were hopeless but that they could be part of the power structure by attaching themselves to Trump like remoras.

I remember when he was running for President and he said even if he lost, he would go up and down the country in his truck telling what a flawed human being Trump is. I believed and respected him - at that time. Not so much now.

Rubio was confirmed 99-0. As a fellow senator he was incorrectly assumed to be one of the more competent nominees. He's turning out to be one of the most useless and craven.

Can't wait until TSF ends birthright citizenship and Marco gets to self deport to Cuba.

A Chadds Ford, PA tidbit related to the O & Joe Admins: Delaware (State) had no unit within the national park system. A National Monument was formed by combining included the Brandywine Valley in Wilmington, Delaware and Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania; the Sheriff's House, Court House and Green in New Castle, Delaware; and Green in Dover, Delaware. It was later redesignated as First State National Historical Park by Congress. (Language redesignating the First State National Monument as the First State National Historical Park was included in the National Defense Authorization Act for 2015. Wikipedia)

Ripe for a reversal on the appellate level. See Tinker v. Des Moines School District where similar armbands were worn by STUDENTS, to oppose the Vietnam War. Scotus approved it. Even less reason (because of no school disruption) for parents to be banned from wearing them.

I would advise those parents to single out and sue the administrators and school board members directly as well as the school district. In an Iowa case, because the law was clear, no qualified immunity for the administrators that denied free speech rights of a student group. They had to pay personally tens of thousands of dollars.

If more of these officious asshats were sued personally and the school district could not recompense them for it, then they would quit doing this shit.

She's wrong and will be reversed. Court of appeals should do it but packed with Dems in the 1st Circuit, Scotus will probably have to do it and Roberts will try to write the majority opinion to construe it as narrowly as possible.

But, case law is quite clear here (see Tinker v. Des Moines School District) and symbolic speech via armbands is protected.

That is the stupidity and evil intent of the entire lawfare hate speech initiative to privilege some above others using oppressor-oppressed hierarchies. No such privilege can withstand even a casual scrutiny of 1st Amendment jurisprudence nor its history.

They already did in Tinker v. Des Moines School District in the 1960's and those protected armbands were on students in class. For trying to limit adult symbolic speech, that judge needs to be impeached because the law here is quite clear.

The judge is not allowed to pick and choose favored viewpoints and call disfavored ones as hate speech.

Biden, Clinton, and Obama judges are all the same wretched pieces of shit using legal Marxist critical theory to place some over others in cases.

Absolutely true but that is because Northerners never really understand the South. So they look for the exotic and swallow codswallop from their Gorilla in the Mist reporters.

For the most part, aside from wealthy plantation owners and city folk, rural blacks and whites ate the same things because they could not afford what the rich folks ate.

For every rich plantation owner, there were at least 10 poor and working class whites many of which were also disenfranchised by things like poll taxes.

The history of the South is far from what is generally accepted and that is because the focus in those histories was on the elites in the antebellum and segregation era, not on the common folk.

Noooooooo! I bet they didn't even CONSIDER meeting the MINIMUM requirements of a peace deal:
1- Return all captured land, people, and equipment
2- apologize publicly
3- reimburse Ukraine and Western nations for all the money spent in defense of Ukraine, and all damage done to Ukraine
4- arrest Putin and deliver him to the World Court for execution (or reveal all the evidence of Trump's evil collusion)

Without that, the war needs to go on until the last Ukrainian goes down swinging with Western-provided nations.

The same can be said for the Second Amendment, which the Roberts court has kept lingering post Bruen. Countless states now have unconstitutional laws on the books which deprive citizens of theirs rights. SCOTUS has done nothing to bring clarity because Roberts along with ACB and the courts liberals keep refusing those cases in conference. In fact alone pro 2A groups are musing they may not even want to see this court take any of the rifle or magazine ban cases because of that group, which they posit will further subvert our rights.

I have to say between issues like this and the current tyranny lowers courts are exercising vis a vis the usurpation of executive power, the courts have lost substantial credibility in the eyes of most Americans. Every citizen can read the constitution and see themselves the judiciaries role is almost zero and nothing they purport it to be. That’s dangerous for the rule of law.
