Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | How Do "Civil Servants" and "Non-Profit" Personnel Become So Insanely Rich? Simple, They're Just Stealing Public Money and Calling Themselves Heroes for ItThis goes on in every single NGO. Leftist government functionaries send billions of dollars to their leftist pals who run these embezzlement factories, knowing that when they exit government they will get put on the board of an NGO and get paid off themselves. "Nonprofit" just means that none of the money will go to shareholders. It will all be poured into the bank accounts of the principals running the "nonprofit." Now? Oh right, this is Communist-Held Minnesota, which, let's face it, we should just make officially part of Canada already.

I've got no problem with a nonprofit paying their executives obscenely large salaries. Often the value of those executives is in their ability to raise money (including from high net worth donors) for the organization's mission.
If I don't agree with the mission, or if I think the money's going other places, all good. I won't donate. When those executives get obscene salaries to raise money by coordinating with the people who steal it from my paychecks, that's a whole different story. If you allow govt to tax churches though, then you risk them being taxed out of existence by a coalition of weirdos aka Dems that hate Judaism and Christianity but love Islam. Ultimately, I think it is a fixable dilemma but requires a delicate touch using the ministerial exception jurisprudence--churches do not pay taxes on income directly from ministering to their religion but any ancillary activities are taxed. If you exempt churches from taxes, then you get non profits dressed up as churches to get around their new taxable status.
Might take caps on salary etc. as well. Posted by: whig at April 04, 2025 04:04 PM (ctrM5) Whig, I'm sure you know as well as I do that a large number of registered churches are scams. It's just a way to own a business (I've often seen owning rental property "above the church" as the scam) and not pay taxes on it. Day cares, too. And Adult Day Care Centers. And all other kinds of groups that get federal money and tax exempt status. There's one guy at the top making a ton of money and employing all of his friends and families. Will real churches suffer? Yeah, probably. But I can't think of another solution here. Posted by: Harry Paratestes at April 04, 2025 04:08 PM (uCjyK) 190
I volunteered for several years with a charity that provided food for the needy.
It really gets old when you deliver the food and you are told "we don't want white people food." Really? then starve -- One of my "wake up" moments regarding food banks. And why I'm opposed to any non-religious charity: Guy is a FB coach for a poor school. Trying to figure out why his kids are underweight compared to others. Realizes they ain't eating enough. Over to the food bank to see if he can't get them on that. Tells me, first day of distribution, first thing to go--by far--cakes, pastries and sweets. Potatoes, carrots, flour--the basics--will rot on the pallets. Fuck them poor--they ain't poor. I know poor. I grew up poor. You won't turn your nose up at anything, if you're really poor. Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at April 04, 2025 04:01 PM (YqDXo) Part of the problem is purchasing/receiving donations of high carb foods. Most food banks deal with shelf stable product, and if the SNAP recipient doesn't use their benefits to purchase fresh food (veg, fruit, meat, dairy) then they consume primarily high carbohydrate, processed foods. They don't exercise, they don't drink water, they don't focus on healthy eating. And frankly, that is on them because there is easy access to information about good nutrition, cooking, exercise, etc. The old EBT/welfare requirements prohibited the purchase of junk food, sodas, liquor and cigarettes, but that changed under Obama, I think. Posted by: TheJamesMadison ======= Possibly. Wall Street, by and large, are drama queens that want swings aka volatility in the market as they make commissions when people buy and sell and by their side bets when people stampede one way or another. People that rely on their investments earnings for buying their groceries tomorrow are ill advised to be in the stock market in the first place. Posted by: whig at April 04, 2025 04:17 PM (ctrM5) 244

Ace makes an important point about "non-profits" up front. They like to pat themselves on the back about being so righteous because they don't take (evil) profits. But all that really means is that they spend all the money on themselves. Go attend a meeting hosted at the offices of a "non-profit" some day. You will think you're in a palace.
My wife and I give money to our church and to the Lorton Community Action Center. I know the former is generally a good steward because I know what the people are paid. This isn't the first time in MN. September 2022: The Feeding Our Future scam.
Federal prosecutors announced charges Tuesday against 47 people accused of carrying out the biggest Covid fraud scheme to date, a theft of $250 million through what officials described as a brazen and staggering plot that exploited a federal program designed to feed needy children in Minnesota. Prosecutors say a web of charities, restaurants and individuals pulled off the fraud by claiming they were providing meals for tens of thousands of underserved children, when in fact the money was going to commercial real estate, luxury cars, fancy homes and even coastal property in Kenya. Authorities say the defendants took advantage of loosened eligibility rules — and a lack of oversight — due to the pandemic. Many of the defendants are charged not only with fraud but with bribery because the government alleges the charities took kickbacks from the food sites in exchange for steering them federal grants. And many are charged with money laundering for allegedly moving stolen funds through shell corporations and other vehicles to blur the trail. Posted by: Cheri at April 04, 2025 04:19 PM (oiNtH) 257

the priest in my town drove a Cadillac. There were very few Caddys in my town, the mayor, and maybe a Dr. or two. But the priest who took a "vow of poverty" had a new one every two years. I was probably 10 and understood that this was a problem. Asshole passed a basket around every Sunday for people to toss quarters in so he could have leather seats.

It's basically paying young women to have children they are ill-equipped to handle as they, for the most part, raise them without a father.
All around recipe for disaster. But the Dems get their votes so it's a mutual bargain. Posted by: SpeakingOf at April 04, 2025 04:27 PM (6ydKt) Yeah. And it's not a great life for the boys / men either. Think about what that does to you emotionally -- you have kids but you never see them. You don't really have any education. The women get most of the welfare benefits, so they have the power in the dating relationships. It's emasculating. That leads to all kinds of issues. It's just all around no bueno. It's basically paying young women to have children they are ill-equipped to handle as they, for the most part, raise them without a father. I've seen a bunch of profiles of these women and the most common story is they hate living with their mother and know if they get pregnant they get their own apartment and government check. So they have unprotected sex with random guys until they get pregnant and now they've got everything their immature and ignorant teenaged asses thought they wanted...and realize very quickly why their mom wasn't a pleasant person to be around... There is no reason whatsoever that anyone would have to go hungry unless it was intentional withholding of food and the need for NGO food banks
Our tax money already provides benefits for food. Schools provide free breakfasts and lunches. I concede that maybe those that may require food need to be educated on how to get the government benefits or how to use it if they already have it. I guess there are also some people who are too proud to get on 'welfare' but have no problem going to those non governmental food banks. The case should have been dismissed for lack of standing since the illegal himself didn't bring it. That's what they do to us... Posted by: 18-1 at April 04, 2025 04:23 PM (t0Rmr) The case 'before her' is the one she shopped by colluding with the people suing the government. These are not random selections at all, its all fake and gay. Posted by: Oldcat ======= Doesn't matter, because according to existing caselaw, her jurisdiction stops at the country's borders regardless of what she feels about the deportation. People try to sue Old Scratch or the Lord on occasion and the quickest way to dismiss such cases is to claim no jurisdiction over the case. Funniest was when a guy named the local Catholic priest as an agent of the Lord in a lawsuit. He claimed that because the Pope claimed to be the sole agent of the almighty, that meant that he could sue the Catholic Church as an agent of the defendant, the Lord. Thus, the scam of naming the local priest as representative of the Catholic Church. Guy still had his case dismissed. Posted by: whig at April 04, 2025 04:30 PM (ctrM5) 318

Oh, this church also had an orphanage where they took kids from the cities and sent them to the suburban public school to deal drugs.
They owned a lot of land in town and on one tract they built an orphanage. The orphans would beat up locals and take their lunch money - no lie. All thanks to the church. I asked why they went to public school when the church had a school too. Made no sense to me. Posted by: bob (moron incognitus) at April 04, 2025 04:36 PM (9vd6c) 339

Hunger is a good motivator.
Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara ------------- Mid-20s (nearly broke, unemployed, and with tens of thousands in studen loan debt), taking care of my (broke) mom in a city with few jobs for my education, particular software skills, and experience: By nature extremely shy & not at all aggressive; one Sunday rolled around -- and all that was left in the cupboards and refrigerator was a tin of gift popcorn -- I started applying for jobs I wasn't qualified for (hunger will do that to you). Monday morning put on suit and took a copy of my resume and references, drove across town to the Ford Aerospace office were they advertising a software job for which I wasn't qualified . Politely asked receptionist if it would be possible to speak with hiring manager to inquire about that opening. She was a bit taken aback, but impressed by my moxie -- arranged it. I cannot sell shit, but on that day I sold the shit out of myself. The manager was impressed, and offered me a more obscure software job for which I'd have to teach myself. Hunger makes you bold!
