As Snow Woke Crashes and Burns, Hollywood Scrambles to Cancel Woke Projects In "Crisis Mode Panic"
Snow Woke opened beneath expectations, and lost 66% in its second weekend from its weak opening.
It fell so far, in fact, that the unthinkable happened. They had consoled themselves with the idea that because this past weekend featured no major releases, they would at least keep the #1 spot. In fact, the non-woke Jason Statham took the #1 spot.For years and years, we've wondered, When will the left get the message? When will the media finally get the message? The disaster of Snow Woke may have been the message that finally got through to them.
"Snow White" is no longer the fairest of them all at the box office. The Disney live-action remake starring Rachel Zegler was unexpectedly unseated from its spot at No. 1 during its second weekend in theaters. In an upset, the new Jason Statham action movie "A Working Man" topped the domestic box office charts with $15.2 million in its first weekend, while "Snow White" grossed another $14.2 million during its sophomore frame, according to estimates from Comscore. For "Snow White," this was a sharp decline from the film's initial $42 million debut last weekend. How steeply a movie declines in its second weekend can be indicative of whether it will continue to perform well in the weeks to come, making this a worrying sign for Disney. The box office debut of "Snow White" last week was already considered a disappointment compared to how other Disney live-action remakes have performed. The live-action "The Little Mermaid" opened to $95.5 million over three days, while "Beauty and the Beast" opened to $174.7 million, "Aladdin" started with $91.5 million and "Cinderella" opened to $67.8 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

I have an active imagination, so I'll tell you why they are so agitated in all media genres (not just film).
It had been assumed that as soon as the Left secured all branches of government, funding (open and significant) would be provided to media outlets, Film companies, "fact" checkers, and critics. This was already being done for entities like Politico through more covert means (USAID).
Enter the Terminator and DOGE. The entire apparatus for covert funding is being disabled. I'm sure there were plans to process these funds to the CNN's, ABC's, Paramounts, Sony's etc. But, now the focus is on stopping this type of behavior. That leaves the media entities with having to appeal to their actual consumer.
If you'd like to see what the Left in the US hopes to achieve...just glance to America's hat....Canada. All media is in the pot for the Liberals, and not just the news.

I've been watching Elementary and now on the final season which has definitely fallen off although still entertaining. I used to frequently watch movies but lately can't manage to get past the first 15 minutes without getting bored.
Ilike Statham but when they try to add some kind of romance to the movie, he just doesn't cut it as a James Bond type.

The Soviet antagonists are actually pretty decent adversaries, but about 80-90 of NASA is women, which makes no sense. The men are largely reckless, weak or just dumb, but the NASA women are brilliant and virtuous. The only female villain is the Soviet apparatchik who the Sovs put in charge of their space program in the later seasons.

As for things to watch on the big screen in April, Angel Studios is putting out a PG animated Charles Dickens story, King of Kings, which tells the story of the Passion and Easter, through the eyes of a dad and little kid. If you have to entertain family out this Easter, it would be a great choice.

I've been watching the alternate history NASA hagiography For All Mankind, and it pisses me off with the woke shit. The Soviet antagonists are actually pretty decent adversaries, but about 80-90 of NASA is women, which makes no sense. The men are largely reckless, weak or just dumb, but the NASA women are brilliant and virtuous. The only female villain is the Soviet apparatchik who the Sovs put in charge of their space program in the later seasons.

They were enjoyable. I liked how they showed Hawkeye's home life. Dude is just a guy with a bow and arrows who does his best and goes to work trying to help people alongside a Norse God and a Hulk.
I have Endgame up now and am going to start being amazing the rest of the week. This was my last major depressed weekend. But damn...

The last season of Elementary only has 13 episodes. What is just astounding to me is that they can tell a complete story in 45 minutes. So used to mini series where it takes 8-10 episodes.
A great series I watched is Troppo. Fascinating story in exotic place with great acting.
The Tourist, made in Australia. Really excellent mystery. Somehow not knowing who the actors are in real life makes it easier,to,suspend disbelief and just get into the story.

Woke movies and shows have been crashing and burning for nearly 10 years now. I'd say it's too late to reverse course. I said the same thing with Deadpool & Wolverine. The MCU was done in by Phases IV and V, as well as the MCU shows on Disney Plus. You can't put the bomb genie back in the bottle that Feige and company let out.

They might be under some financial stress lately but I don't know if they're going bankrupt yet.

I’ll be there but for my money, the only experience that comes close to seeing it in the theaters during its first run was a screening of it while a live symphony orchestra performed all of the music.

Mrs. Wrecks was griping about Trump and Musk last night. She challenged, "Name one thing Musk has ever done to help anyone." I said he rescued the astronauts abandoned by Biden. She dismissed this as something he did for PR purposes. Here's a couple who might disagree.

Is that what's really going on? Damn that has to suck. You're promoted because of your race only to spotlight your race through failure. Bet it feels like a setup. I remember getting 4.9 4.9 pro cons once. Woof. I was usually a 4.6 4.7. And I knew I didn't deserve these. Worse, so did all the other NCOs. 4.8s would have been fine. 4.9s put a target on my back. I think the Captain was trying to send a message that perfect scores were a reality not an ideal. Or maybe wanted me to pull my head out of my ass. I was certainly more alert to everything trying to live up to those 4.9s
