I thought the argument was something about no third term ... in a row. So since term two was stolen, the count starts over now.
That does make some sense ... as far as amassing power with three consecutive terms. Also Trump may need one extra term just to undo the Biden Junta damage. (if that is even possible) Posted by: illiniwek at March 31, 2025 12:18 PM (Cus5s) 36

Willowed, but:
"She deserved better than to be told by “respectable” authorities that life on Earth will end if she does not take radical action, possibly sacrificing her freedom, to save the planet." I wonder if idiots like this girl really believe any of this. I think for many if not most of them – all? – the climate scam is just another vehicle to latch onto to try to feed their ego and vanity for “likes” and internet notoriety. I think this is especially true when the girl – like this girl – is attractive. I’ll bet almost all of these people have already tried other avenues to internet “fame,” and if the climate scam doesn’t work, then they’ll find something else. Maybe hawk tua? I'm convinced that most if not all of these stunts and plays at social media are little more than old-school attention-starved desperation and "hey look at me" vanity. Same as it ever was. Same as the notion of adding his ugly mug to Mt. Rushmore. I don't believe this is solely to play the libs. Not gonna happen. If it just took a simple majority to pass an amendment, it still would be a stretch. But, 2/3 of the House and Senate and then on top of that, 3/4 of the states? No way.
The other thing I've seen floated is to have Vance as pres next time with Trump as VP, and then Vance resigns after elected. Even a further stretch. I doubt Vance would go along with the scheme anyway, and there would be other roadblocks. Nice troll though. Posted by: Anon Y. Mous at March 31, 2025 12:28 PM (klJTj) 98

No worries. President Trump would much rather golf more often by then. He loves to kick the hornet's nest. While I don't understand a lot of his stuff, I simply don't fret. An example: the ATC towers at Reagan in DC. When President Trump spoke about dwarves in his DEI speech, I was wth? Then I read the DEI directives and got it...it mentioned, in addition to hiring mentally ill people, dwarfs. Or maybe the politically correct term is little people or squashed people. Smushed people? Rules are simple. Come up with something improbably ridiculous and casually mention it to the target. Points are weighted according to how nuts the statement is. You score if the target sincerely believes you. So far the winning statement at an astonishing 89 points is a department head telling his crew that the company will require all outside food brought in to undergo a safety inspection because of the danger of food borne illnesses Anyway, I kind of wonder if Trump is playing a version of this game. Posted by: Piper Not really, the voting bases have swapped is part of it. The 'educated' class with high turnout votes for the Dems now and the working and lower middle class votes R for protection from the insane Dems. Those R voters nowadays needed to win are harder to turnout requiring banking early votes, etc. because they are literally working their asses off with little time to engage in the act of voting. The GOP with Trump on the ticket wins high turnout races but the GOP and its awful crop of current campaign staffers don't get that things have changed. Their design was a low stakes, low turnout election model which the GOP used since FDR. Thus, the old mute the differences, corporatist, etc. no longer works for GOP candidates to win--they gotta promise and deliver to the working and middle class voters to get them to turn out. More MTG or Boebert and less Eyepatch McCain as candidates. Posted by: whig at March 31, 2025 01:03 PM (ctrM5) 304

Posted by: TheJamesMadison =========== I think single payer healthcare is dead for Americans due to Obamacare as a compelling issue. The poors get it via Medicaid, the middle class gets it via Obamacare subsidies, and those with good insurance off the marketplaces want to keep that rather than a pig in the poke. Classic sunk cost situation that while they may be dissatisfied with their own insurance (as in it doesn't pay for EVERYTHING), they are loathe to give it up. Obamacare itself probably would not have passed if the concurrent 2008 combo of Iraq/Afghan fatigue AND a massive financial crisis did not aid the Democrats to get massive majorities in the House and Senate.
