Police Catch India’s Infamous ‘Poop and Run’ Thief

poop-and-run.jpg

Police in New Delhi have finally been able to capture an elusive thief who would always poop his pants when in danger to keep people away as he made his escape.

Do you know how good actors can cry on command? Well, apparently some people have the same level of control of their bowels, allowing them to defecate at any moment. Deepak, a 27-year-old phone thief from Delhi, India, was one such person, and he used his unusual gift to avoid law enforcement whenever they got close to catching him. According to a Delhi police spokesperson, Deepak evaded arrest multiple time by pooping his pants to create a stench so foul that police were repulsed giving the thief enough time to make a run for it. The dirty trick was so effective that police even named it ‘poop and run’. Deepak’s poop-fueled reign of terror finally came to an end when policemen equipped with masks and gloves apprehended him.

“Teams gave him a chase and pinned him down,” a police officer proudly told News 18. “As expected, Deepak deployed his infamous ’filth plan’ but the officers, equipped with gloves and masks, thwarted his last-ditch effort and took him into custody.”

Deepak was spotted by a police patrol near Eidgah Park, and. knowing his ‘poop and run’ technique, they prepared accordingly to make sure they could endure the stench of his poop.

To paraphrase the great Carl Spackler - In order to conquer your foe, you have to learn to think like your foe.

Woman Lives in Workplace Toilet to Save Money on Rent

toilet-home.jpg

A young Chinese woman went viral on social media after showing off her unusual home – a 6-square-foot toilet at her workplace for which she pays just 50 yuan ($7).

Everyone tries to save money on rent, but how many of us would be willing to sleep in an actual toilet to do it? One young woman from Hunan, China, recently shocked the world after posting photos of her unconventional living quarters – a small, unused toilet located inside the furniture factory where she works. The 19-year-old woman explained that she comes from a poor family and couldn’t afford to pay upwards of 800 yuan ($110) for a proper home, so she asked her boss if she could live there instead. Her post went viral, but most people commented that she was only sharing photos and videos to attract attention because no one could live in such conditions. However, the woman’s boss took to social media to confirm that she was indeed sleeping in a 6-square-foot toilet at his factory.

“She insisted on paying me an extra 50 yuan for water and electricity every month, but I didn’t want to take her money,” the woman’s boss said, adding that the wholesale furniture factory was located in a remote industrial park that didn’t leave her many options for affordable rent.

The woman said that her boss tried helping her find more normal accommodations close to the factory, but the rent was between 800 ($110) and 1,000 yuan ($140). She currently earns a monthly salary of under 3,000 yuan ($415), and she is trying to save as much money as possible for a down payment on a home, so she didn’t think it was worth it. He even offered to let her live in an office at the factory, but she decided that the unused toilet offered more privacy.

In the words of Ace Ventura - "Do NOT go in there!"

Geography Nerd Content

Previous "geo-nerd" segments here on the ONT have been well received. So how about some more?!?

Check out these Only State… Geography Facts

Alabama is the only state with all major natural resources needed to make iron and steel.

Connecticut is the only state in the United States where counties have no independent government and are merely geographical regions on a map. Legislation passed in 1959 and 1961 removed the duties and functions of the state’s eight counties.

Delaware is the only state without any National Park System units such as a national park, or national monument.

Iowa is the only state whose east and west borders are entirely formed by water (the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers).

Kansas is the only state to have researchers scientifically prove that it’s “flatter than a pancake”. In a 2003 study by geographers at Texas State University and Arizona State University, a topographical analysis found that the flatness of the state is indeed greater in some areas than that of a pancake.

Maine is the only U.S. state with a one-syllable name.

Tennessee is the only state that is bordered by eight other states, more than any other in the country.

Read about every state at the link.

On the subject of states, this guy discusses why some borders are the way they are.

(Do not confuse DelMarVa with DMV)

History Nerd Content

Although it wasn't signed into law until 3 days later, on this day in 1948, the US Congress passed the Marshall Plan to rebuild war-torn Europe after World War II.

In a June 5, 1947, speech to the graduating class at Harvard University, Secretary of State George C. Marshall issued a call for a comprehensive program to rebuild Europe. Fanned by the fear of Communist expansion and the rapid deterioration of European economies in the winter of 1946–1947, Congress passed the Economic Cooperation Act in March 1948 and approved funding that would eventually rise to over $12 billion for the rebuilding of Western Europe.

What say you, history nerds? Pros and cons of the Marshall Plan now that we have the benefit of 20/20 hindsight?

(from thisdayinmusic.com)

1949:RCA Victor introduced the 45rpm single record, which had been in development since 1940. The 7-inch disc was designed to compete with the Long Playing record introduced by Columbia a year earlier. Both formats offered better fidelity and longer playing time than the 78rpm record that was currently in use. Advertisements for new record players boasted that with 45rpm records, the listener could hear up to ten records with speedy, silent, hardly noticeable changes.

Born on this date in 1958: Paul Ferguson, drummer from the British post-punk group Killing Joke

1976: Led Zeppelin released Presence, their seventh studio album, on their own Swan Song Records in the UK. Presence has now been certified 3 times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for US sales in excess of 3 million copies.

11 I’m so glad the four-eyed pigf*cker Mike Johnson could pass a six-month, business-as-usual Continuing Resolution just before losing must-hold House seats.

Also, it’s great that Trump nominated House GOPers for cabinet-positions. Nobody but Mike Waltz could have been NSA. And Matt Gaetz was a total loss.

Somewhere, there are Democrats calculating how many GOP Representatives in purple districts need to be knocked off to seize control of the House, but we’ve got people still patting themselves on the back and insisting the Democrat party is, like, totally done for, bro.

This is not true, the eastern and western borders of New Jersey are also comprised entirely of water. The western border of New Jersey is almost entirely made up of the Delaware River (except for the portion that is the Delaware Bay). The Eastern border is made up of the Hudson River, the Arthur Kill (river/estuary) , the Raritan Bay, The New York Harbor Lower Bay and then the Atlantic Ocean. If you enter New Jersey across its Eastern and Western borders you must cross (or travel under) water.

As they say in that area: "Just sayin'!"

173 Happy Monday night ONT Horde...and we have a date for the No VA MoMe.....when TRex and I finally escaped SoCA, the decision was made to attend a MoMe. First one was NoVA, and meeting the Horde in person changed our lives. Do yourself a favor and go to one and meet all the people in the grey boxes. It was Doof and GWB at that first NoVA MoMe who talked us into going to the TX MoMe, and that is a whole other story. But haven't missed one since we started, and this year will be their No 10 gathering. It's fabulous folks, it really is.

I started to lose interest with the baseball strike in 1994.

Way back when, I had Monday Night Football tickets at Shea, Jets vs. Bills, 1982. Game cancelled because of a football players strike. I held on to football until the early '90s. The 'look at me' showboating really took over. When I'm bored, I'll put a baseball game on. It's getting close to watching playoff hockey time, though. Football may be bigger, but the seven or eights weeks or so of playoff hockey is the best yearly sports tournament on the planet.

1. Is it still beneficial to US interests?
2. Are the funds being applied as outlined?

4. Is the recipient(s) making progress in self-sufficiency, and to what extent?

Inability to answer any of the four automatically puts the program on hiatus.

Yeah, but only because they did not know how to play the game... they would get nailed right after getting it pierced, and leaving the earing in while it healed.

You get it pierced... then when ready to go onboard the ship you have to live on, get a small piece of straw, soak it in alcohol, and put that in the hole. Rinse, repeat, until the hole heals...

Yeah... pierced ear my second year in the Navy...

And the reg was actually very strange, because there is ONE earing that by tradition, you can wear in Uniform... if you are on a ship that gets sunk, you can wear gold ring... and also by tradition once you've both crossed the equator, AND sailed seven seas, you could wear an earing as well.

I'm so sorry about your niece, Tammy. I'll pray for a miracle.

I reached out with jab information to some nieces and a nephew that I trusted to receive guidance from me in the spirit intended. All nieces thanked me for my concern and got their shots. My poor niece who has borne a child since 2020 was sick with Covid (again!), influenza, and RSV all during her pregnancy. I'm surprised about having that many fairly significant respiratory illnesses over a span of a few months. I'm guessing she got a bunch of shots so she would be healthy for her pregnancy.

404 And the kicker here, a literal sickening blow to my heart, is that none of them, not a single fucking one of them, will consider the Ivermectin/Fenbendazole treatment.

Why? Because their doctors are skeptical. Oh, your doctor is skeptical, really?!

The doctor that merrily pumped you full of that shit is suddenly questioning things?!

Questioning Ivermectin, of all things, which has literally been around for decades?!

It is unbelievable to me that people are this fucking stupid. Or maybe stupid isn't the right word. But what other professional would you still trust after they did the equivalent thing?!

405 387 Dad had an "Advantage" plan. Seemed he was always making some big copay or other. Adding it all up, he paid more in a year in copays than G plus Rx plan would've cost.

Full disclosure: He had prostate cancer and required many regular, expensive tests and treatments.

Advantage Plans are rip offs, "free" glasses and "free dental" doesn't compensate for the things they don't pay for, like the hospital of your choice or the doctor of your choice. And the amount you have to come up with is minuscule relative to the charges.

They don't have the balls to apply this military-wide, because it would practically eliminate women in the military. But they'll apply it to combat MOSes so that men can continue to bear the brunt of war, while women get equal say about when we go to war.

But without combat experience, women in the military won't advance into "equal say" positions afaik.

Anyway, I'm relieved that this ridiculously necessary reform is finally made.

Oh, sure... but it's sort of a weird distribution. People who've been here for a long time very often encounter people they know, but the turnover is so high that there aren't all that many by proportion.

430 Tammy, doctors know that if they stray outside of "best practices" (conventional treatments) they could lose their medical license. They have to be exceptionally independent thinkers to risk their livelihoods in order to try non-approved treatments. I've run into this with my husband's cardiologist, who wants him on ALL the heart drugs whether he needs them or not, just to be safe. My husband just had an electrical issue that was addressed with a pacemaker. But according to cardiologists, when you are a heart patient, you are automatically assumed to need BP meds, blood thinners, cholesterol-lowering meds, etc.

475 One can learn to tolerate pain. At least to some extent, right?

Former job often involved pinched fingers. (Think: blood blisters, not crushed hands.) And other minor but painful... inconveniences... and wusses got laughed at.

We joked:

491 This month’s Doublespeak Award goes to the BBC. President Trump is spearheading a ‘purge’ of America’s top museums, it breathlessly reports. The madman in the White House has instructed the Smithsonian Institution to put back all ‘memorials and statues’ that were ‘improperly removed’ from federal property in recent years, the Beeb says. Hold up. Call me a stickler for linguistic accuracy, but isn’t a purge when you tear monuments down, not when you put them back up?

492 Pennsylvania doesn't have iron, limestone, and coal???

Not sure the Alabama factoid about being the only state able to produce steel from its own resources. Maybe they mean current day as they shut down the underground mines and moved towards pit mining lower grade larger iron ore deposits. But Pennsylvania does have those resources (and able to produce high grade steel)

499 I have been browsing online more than three hours today,
yet I never found any interesting article like yours.

It is pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all web owners and bloggers made
good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever
before.
