Saturday Night Joke Ole, Sven and Lars die in a tragic Lutefisk canning accident. They are met by God on the stairway to heaven. God says, "There are 3,000 steps to heaven. It's very serious up there. I'll tell you a joke on each 1,000th step you reach. If you laugh you go to hell." So they start walking and reach to the first 1,000th step. God tells a joke, Lars laughs out loud and goes straight to hell. Ole and Sven look at each other nervously. On the 2,000th step God tells another joke, Sven tries his best but laughs and goes straight to hell. On the 3,000th step God tells the last and best joke, Ole doesn't laugh and proceeds to the gate. Suddenly, Ole bursts out laughing hysterically. God asks, "What are you laughing about?". Ole replies, "Oh dat's funny. I yust got da first yoke!". Once in a meeting, Ford's then-head of U.S. sales, Andrew Frick, was making a point about a sales promotion: "We have a better program, but the competition has more foot on the ground," he said. Sensing the stumble, he looked up at O'Brien, laughing. "Wait, is it 'feet on the ground'? Dammit O'Brien!" The list became so known-and feared-that one executive cursed O'Brien's name in a meeting after tripping up on an expression. Violators could appeal their inclusion but success was rare. And nobody was above a grammatical roasting: Ford CEO Jim Farley twice made the list. It's time to step up to the plate and lay your cards on the table - Horde style. ![]() It's springtime. Good evening good people.
Lord God, Receive with kindness the prayer of your servant, Sharon, as she asks for the birth of a healthy child. Grant that she may safely deliver a son or daughter to be numbered among your family, to serve you in all things, and to gain eternal life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. In the last few years, my pro sport of choice has been baseball, changing out from football.
American, real football, not that European shit with a round ball and devoid of action for all but a few minutes each game. But alas, I'm a Mariners fan, the team with the ownership making bank from yearly profits instead of investing a normal portion of profits back into the team to build a true winner. With only a middle-level of gross revenue last year compared to other teams. M's ownership made the second highest net profit returned to the owners in the last 2 years, at least. *sigh* Still, I enjoy watching baseball. One has major lightening protection, the other, barely. Both have surge protectors, and one has a MOV across the Line and neutral. The other has MOVs: L->N, N->Gnd, L->Gnd. Got the garden cart out-- wheels were flat, so fired up the compressor & inflated 2 before the cheapo chuck broke off (yeah, didn't help that I'd dropped it, LOL) so got another & finished the other 2... Then used the cart to hold all the junk what came out of hubby's car and trunk. Kinda got dusty, but I managed... to unload it all into the shop for later. Today was a *success* in many ways. Some of my kitchen creations actually work, with a replicable recipe. Shocks me sometimes, me of the 'a dash of this, a splash of that' freewheeling cooking technique. I can hardly ever replicate any of my cooking, just a few dishes that come out the same. String beans is one, carrot-ginger-almond soup is another.

Posted by: Some Rat ----- I had to laugh at this! (no offense, Some Rat!) When hubs & I were dating, I bought him a nice Pendleton shirt. 100% wool, with the leather elbow patches-- really nice. Expensive, but warm, because he worked outdoors frequently. Yeah, he washed it with jeans, and dried it on *high* heat with them too. Ruined it-- completely trashed-- and about 3 sizes too small when done. LOL! (kissed $100 goodbye...) Silly man. Posted by: JQ at March 30, 2025 02:25 AM (rdVOm) 279
Miklos, when I visited ths one time, the ex' cousin and a friend took me out French Quarter bar hopping one night. We were in a dive bar at around 3, 3:30 a.m. and saw the change of hooker shift. As a young spike, our little league team was rewarded with a road-trip to KC to see the Yankees play. Or to let the parents gamble a bit. My brother and the coaches son broke free in the hotel, somehow found the Micks room number and went up. Knocked on his door till he answered in his skivvies, "you kids get the hell outa here." Made my day it did!

JQ,
The talk of laundry always reminds me of a Family Circus panel. (And I mean we're going back decades. Some things just stick with you.) Anyway, the Mom is standing over the washer, a basket full of clothes at her feet and she's reading the label on an item of clothing. It read: 'Hand wash seperately in cold water'. I read that Greenland is a great place to put satellites into a polar orbit. Maybe that is why Trump is hot on taking over. Not sure why we just don't lease more land. We have leased land from Greenland since the beginning of the cold war and the old AF base is a museum now. Showing all the 'hotline' equipment from the 50's. B52's I believe used to be based their.
