Animals Are Asshoe Cafe

korculaisland.jpg
Korcula Island, Croatia
by Halina Jasinska

Prince of Purrrrrsia.

Happy donkey.

I might have already linked this: Four goldens line up to say hi to their neighbor-dog.

Beach bum dog refuses to get into the car.

Shepherd wants cuddles from the cat.

Teaching a puppy to doggy paddle. Or maybe he instinctively knew how.

Great Dane puppy gets scared watching Netflix.

ICYMI: Dog moves camera so that he can steal a treat without being filmed. BUT...

Baby's first steps are a lavish dance routine.

Baby beaver nibbles on his tail.

Leaving ice cold water out for a family of foxes in the desert.

Copykitten.

Birds are asshoe:

Rabbits are asshoe:

Even dogs are asshoe:

Bears are... not asshoe?!?!

80 We've been fostering a couple of bunnies for about a year. Sisters that were dumped on a road about a week after Easter. They were only a few weeks old at the time.

They definitely can have an attitude and can get mad. For awhile they would take their hay and just scattered it every where. They did this for weeks until we figured out they hated that type of hay. Once we got different hay, the tossing of the hay stopped.

91 "The House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committees have launched an investigation into six organizations that received federal funding under the Biden administration, examining whether the grants were used to influence Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political standing during the 2023 judicial reform protests, Jewish Insider reports.

According to letters obtained by Jewish Insider, Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) have reached out to six organizations: the Jewish Communal Fund, Middle East Dialogue Network, Movement for Quality Government in Israel, PEF Israel Endowment Funds, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, and Blue and White Future. The letters, sent Wednesday evening, seek answers on the organizations’ involvement in the protests.

Each of these groups received US funding and was reportedly either directly or indirectly engaged in activities related to the demonstrations."

These demonstrations led to 10/7. The country was rattled and pitted citizens against one another. Hamas pounced when the attention was elsewhere.

213 I had a nice night out tonight with my friend. We went to the town "bar" which serves booze and closes at 9PM.

I had 4 beers and have an extra 6 pack here while I work on Grok3. I am up to 15 minutes on the treadmill. Tomorrow 18.

Very cute bartender there. She was 19 and had a nose ring but she was very sweet. And aside from the nose ring, very cute. My friend went to the washroom and we talked about all the kids shows we had in common.

Since comedy died after 9-11 and I moved to kids shows to make me laugh, we had a ton in common. It was nice.

We're in a pretty conservative area - OF ONTARIO CANADA - and talked with this other guy. He was like "I shouldn't be saying this..." but me and my friend were telling him "Dude, we're all on the same page. You can't go far enough."

It was a nice night.

There are family stories of my grandfather - Pip - running booze across the frozen Detroit river. Pip was a huge man, 6 foot plus and quite a personality. I could see him doing that.

There's also stories that he literally torched a bridge to get away from the RCMP and that he sold a blind horse to a minister.

I was young when he passed away but I could see him doing that.

My Aunt Marion and Uncle Jim took him in when he was older. He was cooking something in a pressure cooker. It blew up all over the place. Pip was a huge, strong man, even older. I could still hear him going "God Damn it!"

Okay. Need to do a life update for mama. She hasn’t been doing so hot the last couple weeks. Like I said last month, the cancer has been spreading. She’s been declining quite a bit since then. Her energy level is very low and she’s struggling with breathing after the smallest tasks or even if shes talks too much. The decision has been made to transition to hospice care.

I want to be clear here about a couple things. Number one, she is NOT in her final days although her oncologist estimates with how the cancer has progressed that she is probably down to several months, 6-9 maybe more.

Number 2. She is up for visitors but not much. Please contact myself, dad or her first.

She won’t last much longer than 15-20 minutes if you do stop by, so keep your expectations low.

Other than that, continued prayers and good vibes are always appreciated. Much love to you all. If you have questions, feel free to contact me privately. This is obviously a difficult time as you can imagine but I’ll do my best.
