The Trump administration announced on Thursday that federal authorities had arrested a "key leader" of the MS-13 gang in Virginia.
The White House has not yet released the name of the individual but explained that the individual is from El Salvador and was "one of the top three MS-13 leaders in the United States," according to a press release.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently nabbed multiple MS-13 gang members in northern Virginia.

According to ICE, it arrested 214 illegal immigrants in northern Virginia during an enhanced enforcement operation that targeted dangerous transnational organized crime and egregious criminal illegal aliens between March 1 and 13. The agency reported the arrest of several Salvadoran nationals with suspected connections to the MS-13 gang, including those with prior convictions for malicious wounding, larceny, and weapons offenses. Additionally, a Jamaican national was taken into custody, who had previously been convicted of second-degree murder and firearm-related felonies.

Boston Woke High Priestess Michelle Wu declared that ICE would not take away her precious alien criminals.

ICE Boston says 5 kilos of fentanyl, which equates to more than 2 million lethal doses, were also seized from illegal aliens during the operation.

"The Commonwealth is a safer place for our residents to live and work because ICE and our federal law enforcement partners arrested hundreds of alien offenders and removed them from the streets of Massachusetts," said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde. "Throughout this enhanced enforcement operation, we targeted the most dangerous alien offenders in some of the most crime-infested neighborhoods in and around Boston. It's insane the way we've been importing wars into this country. I'm looking at a roundup of an MS-13 mass arrest and there are about 20 bullet points that read just like this one:

"On July 31, 2016, MS-13 members and associates, including Jose Pineda-Caceres, went to a party at a South Nashville nightclub. Victim 2 and his younger sister, Victim 3, were at the nightclub with friends celebrating Victim 3’s 18th birthday. Pineda-Caceres saw Victim 2 and believed he was a rival gang member. When Victim 2 left the nightclub with his friends and Victim 3, Pineda-Caceres and another MS-13 associate chased Victim 2’s car on Interstate 24 and shot into his car. A bullet struck Victim 3 and killed her. Pineda-Caceres fled the United States after this murder, but he was arrested when he returned to the United States in November 2017."

If I'm seeing things clearly, Trump has zero intention of ever complying with these judges. He is intentionally baiting them for a contempt ruling.

As I understand it, a contempt ruling triggers immediate review not only of the contempt charge, but the underlying matter as well. It takes the case out of that judge's hands, and short circuits this judicial attempt to weaponize the process to delay Trump.

In CA, it's illegal for an attorney to question citizenship status. As I told my wife, though, it seems to me an attorney, as an officer of the court, could easily call ICE and rat the person out. (My wife was involved in a case which involved an illegal with multiple SS numbers)

There's a big difference between conspiring with your ideological soulmates to deny office to someone you don't like, and actively conducting a coup. There would be no better way to ensure a catastrophic repudiation by an angry people.

I don’t entirely get it myself. The first thing I did was make all of my transactions private. It is really good for sending money to people, though

Germany's parliamentary system is different than the other ones. The only way to call a snap election is if the Chancellor requests a vote of confidence, loses it, and then asks the president for a new election. The reason that this happened was that AfD was gaining ground so rapidly, this was an attempt to forestall their progress and create another useless Grand Coalition without them.

At this point, the only option is to ride this rocket into the ground or, if the public becomes agitated enough, give in on the exclusion, and let the Union lead a coalition government.

There is no path the AfD taking over, but there is a path to coallition if popular mood becomes nasty enough.

Germany's system is designed for sclerosis and to give plenty of time for the 'moderates' to crush out any insurgencies, I suppose under the idea that it will give the 'good' government forces time to react. Perpetual elections in the various districts, followed at some distant time with others. They've managed to make politics boring.

Problem is that this all assumes that the moderates are moderate and respond to political differences by trying to satisfy the voter. I recently read a German definition of 'democracy' that was 10 minutes long and never mentioned responding to the people's desires once. Even Hitler responded to the idea of the Volk. So now that their is a real opposition party the response is to legally, or not so legally conspire to destroy them rather than incorporate them or compromise in any way.

And after 70 or so years it shows that Germany has no idea what a democratic government or a republican one even is. If the US had these ideas there would be Civil War.

In Europe snap elections are tools of the government to catch the insurgents flat. Governments no longer fail just because they lose a vote. This takes away the only 'good' think about a parliamentary system, that a government can fall unexpectedly. And that every party needs to be ready to govern.
