That cracked split street looks like many a so-called "street" in Da Swamp. It appears to be a winding street rising atop, and then descending, a hill or the edge of a canyon. One almost expects to see a park bench there with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone dancing together in the early dusk of a summer evening.

Not a fan of the style although the color choices, especially that dark blue sky, are distinctive. Edward Hopper can pull off those angular blocks of color and still tell a story or at least hint at one. That element seems to be missing in Biberman's paintings. They aren't bad or bad art, just not appealing to me.

The Cousins *are* The Cousins because their mom was the passenger in a fatal one car crash in Indiana (?) and their extended family asked my sister and her husband to become their guardians. A couple of years ago, they heard that road was being worked on after a third fatal crash that happened in the same way.

I like this painting. It's eerily calm and scary to me; high on a hill, on the path unprotected from falls but for lighting. Maybe.
Also see https://unframed lacma org/ March 28, 2025: 'Edward Biberman's Conspiracy, December 7, 2011 American art' It begins, "I was a double major as an undergraduate, in art history and political science, and have always loved the intersection of art and politics. I think that was what first drew me to Edward Biberman, particularly his 1955 painting Conspiracy, currently on view in the Ahmanson Building as part of a focused installation of LACMA’s Biberman holdings." And it ends, "Eternal vigilance truly is the price of liberty, and art can play an important role. Carol S. Eliel, Curator of Modern Art" (Note: Edward’s Bieberman's brother, Herbert, had been called before the House Un-American Activities Committee in Washington, D.C. to testify about his allegedly politically subversive acts. Yesterday I posted in the morning thread an issue with my company promoting someone over a Good Strong Independent Black Woman who screamed RACISM when it was announced. Said woman is also on the RIF list we all drew up a little over a week ago and will be announced next week.
Met with HR and department heads yesterday. All agreed that the promotion was absolutely justified on the merits and documented as such. HR was being a bit of a whiny bitch and suggested we remove her from the RIF list for now to investigate her claims further. I lost my cool to Ms HR and said that there's nothing to investigate unless you want to call all of us racist right now. We're fully documented, the decisions were made amongst different groups in management, so we're covered. She then started babbling about treating her with 'grace and dignity' which someone else said "the dignified thing for her would be to take the L as a consequence for not paying attention to her last four performance reviews." So over the kicking and screaming objections of HR, we are proceeding with the RIF. Posted by: WitchDoktor at March 28, 2025 10:17 AM (PzXaK) 206

190 DOJ Attorney Liz Oyer Said Trump Fired Her Over Mel Gibson’s Guns — Turns Out She Was Mega-Progressive Activist
Gibson was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of battering his former girlfriend in 2011, the Times reported. He pleaded no contest. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche sent Oyer a memo informing her of the termination, Oyer said. She claimed she was not informed about why she was fired, but said the notice was delivered shortly after she pushed back against restoring Gibson’s gun rights. Posted by: SMOD Oyer is knee deep in AutoPenGate where Neena Tanden was the guardian of the AutoPen while Biden was vegetating in the sun in the Virgin Islands. “Inclusion and Diversity” seems to be an Orwellian term that generally means specifically excluding caucasians as a general principle, and definitely joined at the hip with “Hate Whitey”.
Perhaps that wasn’t the intent, but it certainly is the effect. 1964 Civil Rights Act is very clear. Racial discrimination is illegal. The latter “affirmative action” stuff subsequently has been a square peg into a round hole, trying to square that circle. In any case, even that abortion of a law was only ever intended for the descendants of American slaves. Not illegal aliens from Outer Mongolia just off the boat. It seems that the phones being used by the people in the infamous chat room were “corporate phones” handed over from the preceding administration. The “signal app” was installed by the CIA specifically for discussions among the bigwigs. The phone lists were already in place for the app, to include the address on Signal for the head of The Atlantic. The group was set up by a staffer, not by Mike Waltz. The Staffer appears to be Alex Wong. (PRC connection? Chinese born, been in government since 2007, been working with state or as a advisor for foreign policy and law ever since… appointed by Trump to his current role as “Principal Deputy National Security Advisor.”
