DHS Officials Arrest a Georgetown Grad Student With Alleged Hamas Connections and a History of Promoting Antisemtism and Pushing Pro-Terror Propaganda

U.S. immigration authorities have detained a Georgetown University graduate student from India, who also teaches at the school, for allegedly having close ties to Hamas and spreading the terrorist group's propaganda and "promoting antisemitism on social media."
The detainee, Badar Khan Suri, was arrested Monday outside of his home in Arlington, Virginia, his attorney, Hassan Ahmad, said Wednesday.
Ahmad said his client is in the U.S. on a student visa to teach at the school. He also said the authorities who arrested Suri said they were with the Department of Homeland Security and informed him that his visa had been revoked by the government.
"Suri has close connections to a known or suspected terrorist, who is a senior advisor to Hamas," Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin wrote on X. "The Secretary of State issued a determination on March 15, 2025 that Suri's activities and presence in the United States rendered him deportable under INA section 237(a)(4)(C)(i).
McLaughlin cited a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act that "renders an alien deportable if the Secretary of State has reasonable grounds to believe that their presence or activities in the United States would have potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences."
Georgetown University, a private Jesuit college in Washington, D.C., said it wasn't aware of Suri doing anything wrong, according to NBC News.

Meanwhile, the FBI has stopped hunting grandmothers in red hats and is now rolling up long-sought fugitives.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed Tuesday that one of the nation's most wanted fugitives, Francisco Javier Román-Bardales, has been successfully extradited from Mexico and is now in U.S. custody. Román-Bardales, a senior figure within the violent MS-13 gang, was arrested in Veracruz and immediately processed for extradition under joint efforts by U.S. and Mexican authorities.
Patel praised the mission's execution, thanking American personnel and Mexican law enforcement for their cooperation. "This is a major victory both for our law enforcement partners and for a safer America," he stated.
Román-Bardales has been charged in the United States with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, racketeering, and human trafficking, among other serious offenses. He is accused of orchestrating violent attacks on civilians and rival gangs, as well as overseeing MS-13's extensive drug trafficking and extortion networks.
The Trump administration has classified MS-13 as a terrorist organization, broadening the legal framework for pursuing its members. Some officials argue that this designation could pave the way for U.S. strikes against cartel operations in Mexico.

The DHS is also seizing smuggled drugs on the seas.

The drug seizure is the result of 14 different interdictions of drug-smuggling vessels off the coasts of Mexico, South America and Central America, four of which happened over a span of 15 minutes.
Since President Donald Trump was sworn in, the U.S. has seized over 80,000 pounds of illegal drugs, according to U.S. Coast Guard acting Commandant Adm. Kevin Lunday. The drugs were intercepted by the Coast Guard in partnership with the departments of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense and 22 Central American, South American and European partners.

It's amazing what a government can do when it's focused on actual government functions, rather than being weaponized into the Armed Wing of the Democrat Party.

Well, I don't know why that would be, but I can say that is definitely not an easy job market out there for college educated American kids.

Now, you can mock their education and their teachers and all of that (probably true). But why are we punishing the kids for that? We told them to go to college and they'd be able to get a good career, get married, buy a house, have kids, etc.

Instead they're working at Starbucks or stuck at the lowest levels of the corporate ladder while immigrants are being brought in to do many of the white collar jobs at 2/3 the pay that US citizens would (should) get for those jobs. It's fucked.

Millions of legal immigrants come in a year. That's millions of more people competing in the job market. Almost all of them grew up in a stew of anti-American hate, much of which was fomented by our own fucking government through USAID, Voice of America, CNN International, etc.

And it's not just the kids. Middle aged guys get laid off after training their South Asian replacements and can't get hired again. Folks near retirement age, too. It's broken generations economically, and because those fields look like pointless dead ends it also cripples the pipeline for Americans to go into those jobs, so even if the visa cheating ended you still couldn't fill all the jobs at this point.

All to keep the wages low, and the investors' ROI high.

The USD is backed by the promise of repayment of debt. Dollars are created via debt, be it treasuries or by your bank issuing you a loan backed by the FED.

Something like that is going to happen, though probably not based on the depositors in banks, but through some sort of function that will claw back the funds.
It might even be the basis for pushing the Tether based stablecoin out.

Let me just say that I have had a lot of law interns that are that age, and that has not been my experience with them at all.

In fact, my experience with Gen Z (and the polls *spit* tend to confirm it) is that they're disillusioned and politically Trump-curious.

But more to the point, they kids I'm working with (a self selecting bunch, to be sure) are smart, hard working, and have that youthful optimism that they're going to "make a difference."

And yet they get shit on and mocked constantly by older generations, and you have people like Vivek and Elon Musk saying they're far too stupid to do the white collar jobs they spent years in school to do, and instead we need to import millions of indians to do those jobs for them.

Most of India doesn't even have reliable electricity. Cheating is rampant, you can buy degrees from diploma mills, and their state education system (based on Chinese Communist education system) is absolute shit that focuses on rote memorization and not learning.

The average IQ in India is 76. The average IQ in the US is 97 (we've dropped a few points in recent years).

There are plenty of smart, capable people here with better credentials that could excel at any of those white collared jobs.

Even in our 50s, companies will still hire us because we know what we're doing and don't cause drama, they will pay us more because they don't have to hire three zoomers to do the job that one of us does even when we spend half the day goofing off, and they don't pester us or bother us because we kind of scare them. UK in the 40's after the war and its debts is an example. Austerity lasted about one generation or so. 18-20 years. Even butter and eggs were scarce in England due to post war rationing and the NHS got established because people wanted misery to be shared aka Labour Party Socialism.

There's really like four different things going on...
1) Fake Education - degrees that are little less than a chop to let you into the Forbidden Palace.
2) Fake Immigration - people getting injected into the system because the Right People make a buck off of it
3) Fake Professions - people getting hired into jobs regardless of what they can actually do
4) ... I don't know, but I don't want to edit where I said "four" up there. Choose your own adventure.

Everyone has to find their own way in life. Some people got screwed over thinking the System was something it wasn't. That's not anyone else's liability to fix or solve. All we can do is get rid of those problems and let people try to find their way to a success and stability that isn't completely fake.

During the last several years of my career as a prof, I saw a lot of young folks struggling--to pay for school, to keep within the changing boundaries of the DEI game, and so on. Lots on all kinds of anti depressants including guys, lots of kids that had received poor education up that point, and so on. And then they got dumped on by their seniors with the idiotic covid shutdown.

The "good" immigrants drive down wages, drive up rents, drive up the costs of everything else (medical, school systems, etc), all at the expense of the American middle class.

There are a lot of kids/young adults out there who, just like a lot of us, pretty much lost at least a year of their lives because of Wuhan Flu. One cohort did not even go to a graduation ceremony. Younger kids tend to be speech delayed because they had to wear masks and attend elementary school via computer.

They get into schools who incessantly preach DEI. White kids are hammered with the message that they are the problem for everything.

Point being is that there are a lot of factors here. I'm not keen on the idea of just telling them to shape up or else. That's the easy path and how you get zero available entry-level jobs in an economy. More difficult is to bring them up with everyone else.

I taught wannabe lawyers and some that needed some knowledge of law in their profession (aka public admin, law enforcement, social work, teachers, etc.) Plus engaged in curriculum development for K-12 teachers etc and the usual general survey class of US gov.

My aim was not to teach what is interesting to me but to determine what students need in their particular occupations and how to teach them to pick up additional knowledge themselves.
