The Trump Organization Sues Capital One Bank for Politically-Discriminatory Debanking

Trump is fighting the war on all fronts simultaneously.

Capital One Bank, emboldened by the Nazi media and authoritarian left, "debanked" all Trump supporters located in Washington DC on Insurrection Day (which will one day become a federal holiday celebrating freedom and #Resistance against a corrupt regime). They debanked the Trump Organization and other Trump concerns as well.

On Friday, the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, DJT Holdings, and other entities under the Trump Organization run by Eric and Donald Trump, Jr. sued Capital One in Dade County, Fla., federal court for "unjustifiably" closing the Trump organization's bank accounts.

The 22-page complaint alleges that on March 8, 2021, Capital One "notified Plaintiffs that hundreds of bank accounts that they controlled, were beneficiaries of, and actively used to transact would be closed on June 7, 2021. Capital One did not provide Plaintiffs any recourse, remedy, or alternative--its decision was final."

Trump world contends that it "suffered considerable financial harm and losses caused not only by the interruption to their access to Capital One's banking services, but also by the devastating impact on Plaintiffs' ability to transact and access their monies."

The Trump Organization alleges that though its entities had been Capital One's customers for decades, the bank, because of its "woke beliefs ... needed to distance itself from President Trump and his conservative political views. In essence, Capital One 'de-banked' Plaintiffs' Accounts because Capital One believed that the political tide at the moment favored doing so." The Trump entities also allege that Capitol One broke consumer laws in North Carolina, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Nebraska.

Eric Trump said the company's treatment of the Trump Organization "was a clear attack on free speech and free enterprise that flies in the face of the bedrock principles and freedoms that define our country. Moreover, the arbitrary closure of these accounts, without justifiable cause, reflects a broader effort to silence and undermine the success of the Trump Organization and those who dare to express their political views."

Capital One insists the allegations are untrue.

Capital One isn't the only one accused of discriminating against customers for their political viewpoints. Bank of America is, too. Even Sen. Liz Fauxchahontas Warren's staff counted 11,955 people who complained that BOA cut them off without warning or explanation.

Bring the reckoning.

The NBA makes 50x what the WNBA does. That can't be right. Maybe 500x.

I watched some WNBA footage. It's a joke, right? These cannot possibly be the best female basketball players in the country, can they? There are indeed some great female athletes out there.

But all I saw in these vids is slow, awkward, low-stamina stumblebums with no sense of teamwork. In those videos highlighting Angel missing easy shots, what struck me was "where the fuck is the rest of her team?" It was like she was playing one-on-one with whoever was defending her.

This can't be the best of the best. I'm starting to think the entire WNBA is just another massive DEI program for mediocre lezzy athletes who otherwise can't get jobs anywhere else.

89 The NBA makes 50x what the WNBA does.

I agree with this take as well. I would much rather change to a consumption tax system, so that everyone has skin in the game. If you eliminate the income tax entirely, that incentivizes the rich to take their excess income and apply it to capital instead, either to grow their own business or risk it on new ventures. Grow the entire pie. It also allows the middle class to spend that income tax on consumption items, but forces us to make choices on where to spend those dollars, rather than buying nonsense goods (unless we really really want them).

From a strictly monetary pov, it is inefficient as hell. The point is that making people confront the reality of what they endorse might just make them reconsider what they vote for, and in the long run, that would save bigly.

The problem with no withholding is that between 30% - 60% of the population will put it off until the end of the year, accrue quarterly penalties, and not be able to cover the tax for income taxes.
And then, they will either engage in some sort of "voluntary" payplan that may or may not include an automatic deposit, OR the taxing authority will begin garnishment against the income, winding up with what is essentially a monthly withholding anyways.

Best to just tax the employer on wages paid, instead. It really is what they do in Mexico for payroll taxes. Individuals generally don't pay MX income tax, the employers do.

So your saying once I’m income tax free, I’m going to start demanding more from the government but if I pay some taxes, I’ll demand less?

Does that even make sense.

Yeah no. Unlawful and ignoring the statutes allowing Trump to fire probationary employees. he is going to have his ass handed to him in appellate court.

Much of the resistance has been the old semi retired judges or the newly hired Obama/Biden judges issuing injunctions willy nilly because their feelz are upset.

Not really based on any sort of law nor constitutional powers for their injunctions.

397 I wrote, "If we do have an income tax..."

I am not advocating for one, I am advocating for a tax that is applied to everyone.
Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo

Back in the day, I studied social choice theory and the public economics. There is no ideal tax that checks all the boxes and often the political arguments such as everyone must pay run into serious operational and secondary effects in administering.

Income taxes, when there is no specific withholding requirement, are often the ones easiest to avoid legally and illegally. Property taxes are the hardest to avoid but often considered unfair in apportionment by value rather than ability to pay. Consumption taxes seem to be more unfair to people who have to consume proportionally more of their income than wealthier ones do. Luxury taxes tend to cause a substitution effect and Lotteries are tax on the innumerate ad nauseam.

So, do you want a 'fair' tax, do you want an economically 'sound' tax, how much power do you want the taxing authority to hold, and so on and this is where politics enters the discussion.

If you notice, Trump is basically ignoring the rulings. The judges have been very careful not to issue contempt or even preliminary injunctions in most cases because that allows the administration to appeal. Ignore the hacks in black until those judges try to actually enforce their decisions. Right now, they are a nullity equivalent to a UN resolution. Aggravating stupidity on display but little to no effect on the ground.

To some extent, yes, but the problem lies in what can be observed and what can be inferred. It is easier to take the naive assumption that when a judge issues an idiotic press release as a judicial order that judge is simply ignoring the law for whatever his personal feelings or agenda is.

Lot more effort to try to trace every corrupt dealing that judge has had with every crooked pol and crooked lawyers before them.

Easier to be charitable and call them idiots with a gavel and deserving the disdain that one gives to pedophiles, criminals, and commies.

They can be but then again, dealing with societal scum if they hear criminal cases tends cause asshole judges to become that way because all they see are assholes every day.

Prosecutors and police have the same problem as do social workers. Eventually, you have to harden up or end up being washed away by the people you have to deal with every day.

It will eventually come but probably not as one big ruling. Lots of little ones. if Scotus really gets on the ball, they simply grant cert, vacate the lower court's rulings, and remand to that lower court to fix their own damn mess. Happened a lot during the waning days of desegregation in the South.

The rules around federal probationary periods gained attention after an OPM memo asked agencies for lists of all their employees currently on probation.

Like private industry, there are lots of hirees that simply won't be able do a particular job satisfactorily. Over the last several years, they've been left in a position to fill a FTE requirement and others, such as diversity.

It's often not the immediate supervisor's problem when an individual can't cut it but all of the coworkers who need to pickup additional work. With the strength of the unions, it falls into disarray & becomes routine that certain tasks will be contracted out while incompetent managers and supervisors are hidden in other programs such as auditing, grants, analyses, non-IT technical support, and so on.

Agency rolls, i.e., VA, were intentionally heavily padded CY 2024. Most were already extremely top-heavy in administration. Years ago, one relatively low-level manager had at least ten employees of various grades and abilities to oversee, no time for nonsense.
