Inflation Is Cut By More Than Half In Trump's First Month In Office

The last reading on inflation under the Usurper Zombie was 5.7%, annualized. Trump's first reading is 2.4%, annualized.

In his first full month back in office, Trump oversaw a sharp slowdown in inflation, which fell more than expected in February. The monthly rate dropped by more than half from January under Biden as gas prices declined, energy costs eased, and core inflation hit a four-year low--early signs that Trump's policies are already making an impact.
Key Details:
February's monthly CPI increase of 0.2% was lower than expected, well below January's 0.5% under former President Joe Biden.
Core inflation, which strips out volatile food and energy prices, came in at 3.1% annually--its lowest level in four years.
Energy prices dipped 0.2% in February, with gasoline prices falling 3.1%, offering relief to American consumers.
Diving Deeper:
Inflation took a noticeable step down in February, delivering an early economic win for the Trump administration just a month into his return to the White House. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday that consumer prices rose 0.2% over the month and 2.8% year-over-year, both coming in below economists' expectations.
Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, also slowed to a 3.1% annual increase--its lowest level in four years--signaling that price pressures are easing.
E.J. Antoni, an economist at the Heritage Foundation, pointed to this dramatic reversal, noting on X that inflation had "reaccelerated since January of last year" before plummeting under Trump. His analysis shows that price growth, which had been stubbornly high throughout Biden's presidency, immediately slowed once Biden left office.

Depends on where in Ireland you live and your dialect, but I've heard it pronounced "tay-shuh" and "tay-shuk"

Although the "k" ending and "h" ending in Irish English are often pretty similar, and my American English ear may be tricking me there. I say "tay-shuh" for what it's worth, Irish people seem to know what I'm saying and no one has corrected me or made fun of me to my face.

You want a brisket that is not folded over on itself, and which has all the fat on one side.

Toss it in the slow cooker with red wine and the spice packet, let it cook most of the day, then put it in a casserole dish, and slather the top with a mixture of honey and mustard powder and bake it in the oven for about half an hour.

Use the left-over liquid in the slow cooker to boil potatoes and cabbage (if you're so inclined).

Is very yum.

341 @312 Corned beef can be cooked in the crock pot. Usually you would add cabbage and potatoes, but wait until nearer the end to add the cabbage or it will be so soft it won't be that good.

You can use corned beef to make reubens, which are excellent.

Don't think twice about it, go put multiple pounds in your freezer. It's a preservation process involving salt, but it can be used in stews and soups, stroganoff, sandwiches, etc.

Cheaper than ground beef is a definite buy.

dead simple, Rinse it, put it in a crock pot with the fat top up , on medium heat for six hours with chopped onions, carrots, potatoes and maybe garlic.

Bring it out, let it cool a bit, and slice it. Serve with veggies, and gravy like a pot roast.

There are more complicated recipes, but this one works.

I save the liquid and use it eventually for cooking dried beans, it is generally too salty for anything else.

People make the mistake of throwing all the veg in at the same time. You have to space it out so everything is properly cooked. Unless you just don't like cabbage. Then it doesn't matter.

Ireland has never had a beef with anyone in modern history, and has been an incredibly peaceful country historically.

I think most of the world recognizes that the IRA was representing ethnic Irish people to try to overthrow an occupying army. And even then, the tactics were pretty mild compared to, say, Muslim terrorists.

Like putting a bomb in a garbage can, then calling the cops to have them evacuate the area before detonating it. That kind of thing.

Put another way: if the US had not been successful in overthrowing British rule, then George Washington would be in the history books as a terrorist. So... shrug.
