Which would make Trump, the man Musk was supporting, look good. What are the lives of a few astronauts compared to the majesty of the Great Progressive Struggle?Stranded NASA astronaut's daughter finally breaks silence as she lashes out: 'Negligence' The teen daughter of stranded NASA astronaut Barry Wilmore has spoken out about her dad for the first time, blaming 'negligence' for him being 'stuck in space.' In a heartbreaking video quietly uploaded to social media last month, Daryn, 19, said that her father had 'missed out on a lot' during his uncertain nine-month stay in space -- including Christmas and her parents' 30-year wedding anniversary. Wilmore's wife and his two daughters live in Houston, Texas, where they have been patiently awaiting his return since June of last year. 'It's been hard if we're completely honest', she said. Daryn said her frustration about her father's stay was 'less the fact that he's up there' and 'more the fact of why.' 'There's a lot of politics, there's a lot of things that I'm not at liberty to say, and that I don't know fully about,' she said. 'But there's been issues. There's been negligence. And that's the reason why this has just kept getting delayed. There's just been issue after issue after issue.' Daryn posted the video just weeks before SpaceX Chief Executive Elon Musk, whose company is tasked with bringing the Starliner crew back to Earth later this month, said the Biden administration left them in space for 'political reasons.' Wilmore and his crewmate, Sunita Williams, were set to return from the ISS eight days after arriving, but their return capsule was plagued by issues and NASA delayed the flight home. They are set to come back to Earth no earlier than March 19. ... Daryn shared the videos just weeks before Musk went on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast to double down on his statement that the astronauts were 'abandoned,' saying Biden rejected his offer because it would've made Donald Trump 'look good.'The astronaut himself has confirmed this. Via David Strom who has more.

There was a little spat on Z where Mark Kelly was talking shit to Elon. Rather than rebuffing the claim that the return trip was delayed for political reasons, as Elon asserted, he called him a coward for not having gone to space. It was a typical logical fallacy from a Dem politician.

Put another way, 374 out of 432 federalized airports have fewer than 200 TSA Officers to perform screening functions, while the rest are paid by the government but work "full-time on union matters" and do not retain certification to perform screening. So the astronauts just sat up there in zero g, losing bone mass and muscle, endangering their lives by overstaying their voyage into space.
All because Biden's Handlers did not want to allow Elon Musk to do anything that showed himself in a good light. Which would make Trump, the man Musk was supporting, look good. They would have kept David Janson from flying up to rescue the Astronauts if they thought it would have picked up a point in NY or PA. There is not 1 major mainstream (D) that would allow an (R) to come in with a rescue plan for any situation. Look at EU willing to kill Russians and Ukraines and have bodies stacked like cordwood to deny Trump a win. Six months in deep space - by our time, that is. According to Dr. Haslein's theory of time, in a vehicle travelling nearly the speed of light, the Earth has aged nearly 700 years since we left it, while we've aged hardly at all. Maybe so. This much is probably true - the men who sent us on this journey are long since dead and gone. You who are reading me now are a different breed - I hope a better one.

AFAIK, the thing exists mainly to pique schoolkids' interest, by VHF comms with them on flybys, and to perform the kids' stupid science fair projects in space. Democrats are screwing people over just to not give Republicans a "win".
Leave astronauts stranded to avoid giving Musk a win on rocketry. Wouldn't spend the allocated billions of dollars for rural broad-band on Starlink to avoid give Musk a win. (Starlink was by far the lowest bidder, and could have most quickly connected the most people.) Further, I think the Zelensky pre-meeting sabotage was also because they do not want to give Trump a win on "ending wars".
