Posted by: Bitcoin Fixes Everything Scotus decision was not the bad one that everyone assumes from reading media reports. Basically, a group of four are now ready to vote cert for any stupid TRO. One such TRO that was reversed by the DC Court of Appeals no less meant that the Special Counsel stays fired. He gave up. Basically, TROs were misused because they thought they could order Trump to immediately turn the fraud machines, etc. back on. That tactic is waning because A) it doesn't work, B) Scotus is warning district judges doing this shit to do their homework before muh feelz TROs on dubious grounds. I can give the first Matrix movie some breaks for its plot holes and dumb ideas. It looks amazing and was groundbreaking for a lot of effects and ideas in movies. They weren't the first to use that sweeping camera effect (it was done in some music videos before that, for example) but they did it in a very striking and fun way.
The second the story and ideas were so dumb that it was difficult to ignore, and the story didn't need to keep going. The third was just insulting and didn't even have very good sequences. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at March 06, 2025 03:38 PM (2VST1) 136
I mentioned below that this is also a back door into their client files as they have to turn over the classified docs now.
Let's Trump know what they have had shared. But, there's another thread pulled here: They can trace the docs back to who in the agencies released them. Because, inside the agency, a query for listings of docs released to outside attorneys (no way they'd list the actual firm) would be a mountain of results. But a query of "who had access to this?" and "who released this?" is much, much smaller. A whole lot of embedded moles are gonna be whacked. The ability to make rules was delegated by Congress to the Supremes years ago... but... These rules take a lot of UnConstitutional power, that is nowhere in actual Law. Press Release The New York Times, Represented by Ballard Spahr, Prevails in Defamation Suit Brought by Sarah Palin February 17, 2022 In part, "With trial counsel from Ballard Spahr, The New York Times has prevailed in a libel suit by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin in a high-stakes case closely watched by the press, politicians, and the public. The jury ruled on February 14 that The Times was not liable for a 2017 editorial that linked Palin’s political rhetoric to a mass shooting. The jury’s decision in Sarah Palin v. The New York Times Company came a day after the judge overseeing the trial announced that he would dismiss the suit even if the jury came back with a verdict for Ms. Palin, the 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate. Judge Jed S. Rakoff of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled Monday—in response to a motion filed by Ballard Spahr lawyers on behalf of The Times, and outside the jury’s presence—that Ms. Palin’s legal team had failed to meet the high legal standard needed to prove that the newspaper acted with actual malice when it published the 2017 editorial." Could be a lot of reasons. They could be reviewing classified contracts. Representing cleared individuals in labor disputes. Sometimes the gov't asks companies to do sketchy things and you need cleared counsel to see if the gov't can actually do that. You can't just trust attorney-client privilege to keep classified information safe. You need cleared lawyers. Posted by: Semper Why at March 06, 2025 03:49 PM (ycCVe) 214

Which is almost certainly true. Its an obvious overstatement, presumed in the stating. Clearly he doesn't think every single girl who is online has an OF account. At the very least, a lot of them are younger than 18, for example. None of the ettes do, to the best of my knowledge. But.. its one of those things that is so often true, especially of pretty girls you see in a tik tok video, its something you can agree with knowing that its overstated. 239 Yeah but what does the obscure Hawaiian federal judge have to say about keeping deep democrat state law firms with their security clearances? After all federal judges rule the executive branch.
Posted by: Jukin the Deplorable ======== Not really, district court judges were pissed off during the Reagan years by a change in the SSA rules for disability. Reagan administration only allowed each judical decision to apply to the specific parties involved in the case and refused to apply the ruling to other similarly situated plaintiffs. Particularly on foreign aid, the Resistance judges are being rather stupid as ruling precedent is Curtiss Wright Export v. US. In it, Justice Sutherland explains that the president shares powers with Congress on domestic issues but is the single organ decider on foreign policy and military matters. Basically Article II overrides mere district court judicial overreach in Article III regarding Commander in Chief and diplomacy cases. Be patient as it will take some time for upper courts to put Bozo makeup on all the Resistance lower court judges. Posted by: whig at March 06, 2025 03:58 PM (ctrM5) 282

Bombshell Discovery Could Render All of Biden's Presidential Actions 'Null and Void'
The Biden presidency might have been the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the American people. Posted by: Smell the Glove ====== She f*cked up. A TRO is never permanent and designed only as a bridge to a temporary or permanent injunction which are appealable. The abuse of TROs among Dem judges is a coordinated and possibly illegal activity intended to forestall executive actions without the President being able to appeal them. They are not for issues like restoring someone to a job nor restoring payment for an appropriation. Neither involve irreparable harm to the degree necessary for a TRO. Dellinger's firing is an example where the district judge ignored that the wrongful firings are not entitled to an order to restore them to the office but rather a cause to sue for back pay and wrongful dismissal. Both Weiner and Humphrey's Executor are examples of that. Posted by: whig at March 06, 2025 04:23 PM (ctrM5) 399

Parliament rather than Oliver himself was responsible for ending feast/holy days like Easter.
"In June 1647, the Long Parliament officially declared the end to Easter (and all other Christian Holy Days). The primary reason behind the law was to eliminate all traces of Roman Catholicism in England: the only worship allowed was in church on Sunday, according to the Directory of Public Worship." Christmas was viewed more like Carnival or Mardi Gras in Britain to the extent that public drunkeness, riots, and other disorders predominated any sort of worship (part of the issue was the surplus of laborers after the Enclosures Act and cheap booze). https://tinyurl.com/32yxptuv To some extent, Cromwell and the Parliament of his time were aware that often public holidays were a chance for the political opposition to organize and try to restore Charles I (and later the II) to the throne under the cover of making merry. Same rationale was used in France after the Revolution by Robespierre and his compatriots. And so on. Political power was expended to try to warp society to the needs of those in power is the lesson. If that’s the case, Biden’s executive orders, pardons, and other actions, may be unconstitutional and void. This happened with President Wilson - he was a vegetable at one point and his wife was making most of the decisions of the president. Biden's case is a little less clear as presumably he has moments of clarity so you'd have to argue he is unable to intellectually function all the time to overturn his decisions this way and I don't think you can.
