I doubt that Epstein was what you’d call a “spy”; more like Mossad and MI5 set him up in business so he could provide kompromat to them on all kinds of business and political figures. (Lots of British ties to this thing). And of course the FBI was in on the act.
Posted by: Tom Servo at March 06, 2025 08:05 PM (34LIQ) I guess the word "spy" is not really the right one, but he was recruited, financed, and put out there by the so-called intelligence agencies. >>More likely Epstein was a foreign Intel agency asset via Ghislaine's contacts she inherited from dear old dad. Robert Maxwell was connected to MI6 among others.
Back in 2009 Epstein was brought up on sex charges in Florida. He got a sweetheart deal thanks to the DOJ/FBI HQ. Why would they do that for a foreign agent who was tied to people like Bill Clinton? By the way the attorney for the women who brought the charges said only one person came forward at the time to provide testimony against Epstein and that person was Donald Trump. Christopher Steele was ex British Intel and then he became a prolific patron of the US intel community well before the Russia collusion hoax. He worked for the State Dept. and his biggest focus was Ukraine and Russia and wrote numerous reports for his patrons in State particularly Victoria Nuland. If win learned anything from the Russia hoax it's that government drones and spy agencies don't work for the governments they supposedly represent. They work for a cause they all mutually believe in. Jackstraw, plausible deniability. Go back to WWII, look up British Security Coordination group in US and Canada at the time. They were running ops with FDRs approval on American soil to help get us in WWII.
Could even has been a false flag op but most likely a friendly foreign service was handling the op at the ground level but sharing mgmt with us Intel. Allowing a foreign agency or even false flag posing as foreign operatives allows deniability plus allows US Intel to squirt state secrets doctrine into any court actions by claiming it involves foreign relations with key allies. They do something similar on sigint via the 5 eyes group. Each agency spies on the other countries citizens for them and gives them product. Kinda proves my point. If you are giving the UK permission to run ops in the US you are as guilty as they are. It's one of the big problems with Five Eyes. It also allowed censorship of Americans on social media to be farmed out to Brits and others. But it doesn't remove the culpability of the Americans who allowed it. Might want to read the book. Ian Fleming and Stephenson were friends in the same racket and supposedly part of James Bond character was based on Stephenson.
Posted by: whig's phone Fleming advised Wild Bill Donovan on how to structure the OSS and was gifted an engraved revolver with the inscription "For Special Services." And we all know what the OSS became following the end of WWII. Posted by: Count Orlok at March 06, 2025 09:48 PM (Wl9BE) 244
Look at how our supposed NATO allies are reacting to Trump trying to end the war in Ukraine. They are now magically finding both the money and the will to supposedly build armies to fight Putin in Ukraine until the last Ukrainian is dead. All while buying more Russian oil in the last few years than they spent on defeating Putin.
Does any of that sound remotely rational? AH,
I have a Bulfinch's guide somewhere about. My time recently has been an endless number of visits to specialists coupled with fighting insurance companies. I would prefer to read mythology as it is less fearsome than our modern goblins. Posted by: whig's phone at March 06, 2025 09:49 PM (ctrM5) 246

I would bring the shovel. This is a pain that never goes away. You manage, but the anxiety in situations even 30+ years later is horrendous. Yeah, I would be there with the shovel and the tarp.

Stephenson and Donovan worked closely together as well. Both men pissed off Hoover to no end by their activities but FDR supported them over him.

Posted by: whig's phone at March 06, 2025 09:49 PM (ctrM5) --- That's why I'm reading it. Well, I'm also making some mental notes about how the Greek gods are fallen angels and how their idea of "justice" varies considerably with the Bible. To wit: the Greeks have no heaven. Olympus is on a mountain, but it is in the world. They have an underworld, and people go there often. But heaven is closed to them. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Heh, FDR in 1940 election, " I will not send your boys to die in foreign wars."
FDR was a loathsome prick who thought himself indispensable as president. All he did was muck up, lie, blame his failings in others, but never take responsibility for his own actions. LBJ was FDR's spiritual son in politics. Nasty critters. Posted by: whig's phone at March 06, 2025 09:45 PM (ctrM5) Exactly. Posted by: Piper at March 06, 2025 09:51 PM (pZEOD) --- LOL no. Charles Bronson flick from the early 1970s. He's a liberal architect in New York whose wife and daughter are assaulted. Wife dies, daughter deeply scarred by rape. He goes to Arizona to work on a project and is introduced to a guy who likes recreational shooting, is into self defense and gives him a package to take home - don't open it first! It contains a revolver and ammo. Bronson then starts going around the city, acting as bait, and then blowing away the muggers. Jeff Goldblum's first acting role was as one of the attackers. Disturbing but also darkly amusing film. Highly recommend. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at March 06, 2025 09:56 PM (ZOv7s) Posted by: four seasons at March 06, 2025 09:57 PM (3ek7K) 263

AH, Greek sense of law did not carry forward to the present. Both Mosaic, and later Roman, were the basis of our current legal systems in the West.
When I used to teach history of law, the Greek legal systems were not included because they had little to no effect on the current system. Even Hammurabi had more impact. Posted by: whig's phone at March 06, 2025 10:00 PM (ctrM5) 268
