One of the signs that our elder cat is indeed getting old is that she no longer sprints into the kitchen at the sound of food being poured out. She's also less willing to wake us up on weekends to get fed at the usual time.

Instead, she sleeps in and gets down there when she's damn good and ready for it.

What I noticed about McDonalds fries is they were almost edible when hot and fresh, but turn into mealy cardboard once cooled. No flavor.

My wife frequently eats a bowl of cereal before going to bed. Her spoon makes tiny little "clinks" on the bowl while eating.

Out oldest cat almost always comes if after hearing that faint noise and waits patiently at her feet. My wife then gives the cat the bowl with the last three spoonfuls of milk.

AFAIK, they both then go to bed happy!

On a lighter note, I am so ready to start gardening. We're in Wyoming and it's snowing like crazy.

Cabin fever, yeah, we have it. We had a lovely weekend and cleaned out the raised beds, so there is hope. I keep seeing articles on my home page about what to plant in March, lmao. No hope for that here.

I would bring the shovel. This is a pain that never goes away. You manage, but the anxiety in situations even 30+ years later is horrendous. Yeah, I would be there with the shovel and the tarp.

May I suggest planting a few plastic flowers - at least for some temporary color? Once you're ready to plant, you can set them aside for next winter.

LOL no. Charles Bronson flick from the early 1970s. He's a liberal architect in New York whose wife and daughter are assaulted. Wife dies, daughter deeply scarred by rape.

He goes to Arizona to work on a project and is introduced to a guy who likes recreational shooting, is into self defense and gives him a package to take home - don't open it first! It contains a revolver and ammo.

Bronson then starts going around the city, acting as bait, and then blowing away the muggers.

Jeff Goldblum's first acting role was as one of the attackers. Disturbing but also darkly amusing film. Highly recommend.

267 AH, Greek sense of law did not carry forward to the present. Both Mosaic, and later Roman, were the basis of our current legal systems in the West.

When I used to teach history of law, the Greek legal systems were not included because they had little to no effect on the current system. Even Hammurabi had more impact.
